Is there any way to fix this? Its been stuck like this for like 20 min

So it looks like my personalization and display settings don't work because they're modern apps and there's an issue with my settings app, it won't open at all. The icon flashes for a second then disappears. It also means I can't validate because it won't open.

Other modern apps open.

So glad they allowed feedback on the Win10 experience. It's completely borked.

Store app crashes. Keyboard doesn't work in textfields in tablet mode for third parties. The News and Sports native apps are worse than 8.1.

There is far more. I updated too soon.

It looks like you've reached your device limit for installing apps and games from the Store on your Windows 10 device. If you want to install apps and games from the Store on another Windows 10 device, remove a device from the device list.
what is this shit? received via email. I only have 1 device in the device list

I just got this message too. I only have one Windows 10 Device, so I'm not sure what it's talking about.

Anybody have any ideas?

activation has been tied to hardware since xp. I don't know how it works in windows 10, but in the past major changes just required calling an automated line

Changing the motherboard is the only thing that has required me to re-activate for Win 8, probably the same here. And the automated thing is very simple and quick to do.

So the store and apps are actually broken for me, isn't because MS servers are getting hammered. Guess I just have to play the waiting game, hmm

Had some issues when I upgraded with my ASUS. Thought I would share how I fixed it.

I was getting an error msvcr100.dll could not be found. It seemed AVG was not loading properly. I downloaded the msvcr100 x 86 driver from microsoft. I also uninstalled and reinstalled AVG 2015. Also, ASUS Smart Gesture was no longer working. I had to uninstall the program, and then reinstall the program from ASUS. Doing these things stopped the error notices from coming up and Smart Gesture now works properly.

I had to do the same on my Vivobook with Smart Gesture. With respect to Asus though they have the Windows 10 drivers right on their site and there are Win 10 gestures and everything. I was lost without two finger scroll for a while though, lol.

I downloaded an iso and selected to have a clean install, yet a bunch of old games and documents were left intact on my C drive. Does anyone know why this happened? Also, would it be safe to just go ahead and delete shit?

I think my Edge trial problem has something to do with this device limit reached email I just got. Two devices show up in the list (though I own four - laptop,desktop,360,XBO). Wonder how I can fix it.

I had this problem with Windows 8 and it turned out that windows updates were broken. You might want to check that in case.

Has anyone done the Windows Update trick multiple times and have it eventually work? Because if not I'm just gonna give up, but I'm kinda worried that my meddling might have messed with my reservation.

Is anyone else having video playback issues in Edge?

Almost every video I've tried to play (YouTube, BBC, Gametrailers) the left half of the video is fine but the right side is full of ghosting, corruption and weird pixel stretching.

Even viewing in Internet Explorer yields the same effects. I didn't have any of these problems with Metro IE on 8.1

This seems to have something to do with H264 playback. I just found an old MP4 on a spare thumbdrive and I ended up with the same issue in both the Movies&TV app and WMP.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I LITERALLY gained 15 gigs of HDD space on my SSD after the Windows 10 upgrade...how....is this possible?!

Windows Update. Windows makes duplicates of and are never deleted in the event that you need to roll back to previous versions when you make updates. They are kept on your HDD literally forever. It's fair to assume that with the OS upgrade, Windows deletes all of those old Windows Update files from previous versions of Windows.

Of course, over time you will again lost space to Windows updates as updates and patches are released through Windows Update.

Spamming slmgr.vbs /ato worked for me to activate two of my computers. Will try on third.

I should state that I upgrade to Windows 10 by downloading the media creator and upgrading from within Windows 8.1 Pro. I selected Keep Nothing option.

I am changing to new ssd's for both my win 7 machines, as I understand it I have to upgrade to win10 first (to upgrade my win 7 product key) then do a clean install on the new ssd. Is this proving to be true? Or can I use my win10 media disc and do a clean install on the new drive right away?

Installed now and there seems to be no issues :)

Resolution problems at first but restarting fixed all that.
Sound and video are fine. Random game test was fine.

Only issue I've noticed is trying to update some apps through iTunes as a test, and frankly I'm more keen to blame iTunes than W10 there =/

Interesting issue... I've hit a "device limit" after installing Windows 10 on my tablet. I have two devices - my PC and my tablet. As a result, unless I delete my PC (the first device) from my profile, which will prevent me using the Windows store on it, I can't use any apps on my tablet.

O_O

FYI - the Microsoft Answer Tech I chatted to suggested I roll back my tablet and install again. Not sure how that would help, but what the hell. I'll report back with my findings...

Unsurprisingly, this made no difference.

I can't get the "scroll window when I hover over it" option to work on my laptop. :( Also Dell updated their drivers and now instead of 3 finger swiping going back or forward in my browser it just switches apps. There's already like 3 ways to invoke an app switcher, don't know why they would change that, browsing the web is now less convenient.

Ugh, been getting the 80240020 error all day.
Reddit fix doesn't work and the Download tool keeps downloading a Swedish version that doesn't work since I'm using a US copy of Windows.

gah

Any link to an actual iso or something of that sort?

EDIT: Oh nevermind, just noticed the ISO link in the OP, sorry

I notice that text on my apps are now fuzzy. Not the Windows text itself. Like Chrome, or Explorer, etc, that's fine. But the programs. Fuzzy.

I just noticed I have been getting this error. What was a way to "attempt" to fix it?

What do you mean broken? What can I do to fix that ...

I don't know if it's the same problem. But there was some issueI had with Windows 8.1 not being able to download stuff from the store. I also found out that Windows Update was failing to communicate with the server. I ran the MS update fix tool and it fixed both problems. Although I had to restart and run it several times for some reason it did work in the end. I was just thinking if Windows Update can't find the server it may be a similar issue.

So what do I need to do to get my display to work with anything other than my HDMI from my big screen tv? IS there a way to revert back to a previous driver with Nvidia that worked this morning?

Download the creation tool. Upgrade from within windows. Spam slmgr.vbs /ato
in elevated command prompt once you've upgraded to windows 10 until it activates. Profit.

Edit: One thing's for sure, the upgrade from within windows update was a complete failure. Microsoft going to Microsoft.

I've upgraded but I think I'm going to do a full reset. I'm not completely happy with the install to be honest. Doesn't feel completely smooth!

Also text scaling looks fucked.

How do I get a guest account back? I had my brother just use the guest account so all his stuff and saves on there

Edit: no control panel option but you can re-enable it in computer management.
