When you open the Weather, Go to your city and then click the star.

If it doesn't work, right click the tile and select "Turn Live Tile Off" then right click it and select "Turn Live Tile On". You could also try Unpinning then Pinning again
Nothing seems to work. Thanks for the ideas though.

Well, doing a upgrade messed up all my display driver stuff. It wouldn't detect my second GPU so my other monitors weren't working. I'm probably gonna need to install everything clean now. Where is the option to make it so it doesn't automatically install drivers in windows 10?

Went through the whole process and instead of rebooting it crashed to the desktop with a small message window saying "something happened." Not like the big blue screen everyone else is getting. This is seemingly right at the end. Any ideas...?

So UK here and dont seem to have the update ready.

Did people just turn on their pc or restart it and it was there for them?

I'm having the same problem, after manually installing the new Nvidia drivers and rebooting. Ms update would re install the video driver disabling my Sli. Kinda frustrating hope they give us the option to select updates.

Just wanna thank the people who gave out that link with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool download. Downloaded some ISOs for future use and used the built-in upgrade option to go from Windows 8.1 to 10 without a hitch on my HP Envy 17 laptop.

I did it straight from a clean Windows 8.1 install, without having to install any other updates or even having to enable Windows Update. My laptop came with original Windows 8, I clean installed 8.1 using the latest ISO from MS (meaning it included up thru the Nov. 2014 update rollup, available here), then just chose upgrade with the Win10 Media Creation Tool. Nothing seems to have been lost in translation and 10 is running smoothly.

Edit: I do not like the smooth scrolling in the Edge browser, anybody know how to disable that? I always disable it on my browsers, and I can't find the option in the settings.

I catched up on all the updates and the Windows 10 button is still not showing up :( I tried the win10fix thing but it said I was missing an update, which I can't find. :[

Is Cortana not working for anyone else? I have the "Microphone (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC)" driver, which works, tested in the Voice Recorder app and it's fine, but Cortana does nothing. The "Learn My Voice" thing doesn't do anything, it doesn't show any text or anything, and if I click the microphone button in Cortana, it just beeps after a split-second with nothing.

We have a small workgroup at work and apparently that prevents the members of the group of getting the upgrade notification. How should I proceed in this case with the upgrades?

Actually updated rather quickly after making the installer on a USB drive. Then I proceeded to do a clean install. Had an issue where it would not want to install to the C drive after formatting it but it worked after unplugging the other hard drives.

Works pretty well. Installing drivers and some apps now.

I tried installing it and it got stuck at 89% and the HD light wasn't active. I restarted the PC and am redownloading the upgrade. Is it normal for it to get stuck for long periods of time?

is there any way to "force" this

I got the get w10 app on my laptop quite a while ago and im just gettin "we'll notify you" still. figured i'd do it today

My "Get Windows 10" icon dissapeared from the task bar after running Windows Updates, as I wanted to see if that was why I did not get the option to upgrade yet. Anyone else had this happen? And if so, how did you solve it?

I had a bunch more 8.1 updated I'd missed, so I'm guessing that made the icon disappear. I'm now installing 112 updates.

although tbh it seems a waste of time - I'm downloading the ISO from windows and creating a USB stick which I can then use to update all my computers. Much simpler and less download bandwidth used.

fake edit: 'something happened'. Well thanks media creation tool, thats fucking useful information. Shit.

just noticed this actually, first time it was 2.4gb now its 5.7 so thats positive, heres hoping :O

Mine is 8.1GB now after going through all that. Downloads, tries to install, fails.
Will see what gives after finishing the new download, it's taking forever...

I told myself I was going to wait but here I am using windows 10. It's pretty slick. Only trouble I've run into so far is my Blue Snowball won't work with Cortana.

Tried to the xbox streaming and when I'm in a party the chat audio comes through my speakers even though I'm talking through the mic. Anyone got a solution for this?

Also, any way to make the UI transparent like aero?

Finally downloading now on my Win8.1 partition. Did anyone in here with Win7 & 8.1 dualboot upgrade yet? I think upgrading 8.1 shouldn't be a problem but I'm still a little bit worried. ah well

So using the tool from the link that people have put up.

Is it best to do an upgrade first then do a clean install?

With it being a new OS i want it to be a fresh start and all that lol

So happy that fuzzy searching is possible now. I used to use a program called Window Clippings for window screenshots so now I always type that in when trying to use the Snipping Tool. In Windows 8 that didn't work but it does in Windows 10:

When upgrading it gives you the option of doing the equivalent of a clean install. It moves your old installation (incl. user folders, program files, etc) into Windows.old and then clean installs Windows.

How do I make it so that the active title bar color is different from the inactive title bar color? It's driving me crazy that I can't tell which window has focus.

So will people in the technical preview get this update or not? Because I haven't got anything yet calender and mail apps still don't work

Have you turning it off and then turning it on again?

Honestly, heard this fixed this issue for somebody else

Cortana is pretty disappointing.

How are you going to say you can find me movie times and then when I ask to show movie times you just open up a bing search on my browser?

I could do that myself.
