are the ISOs that people are converting unique to that users' machine? Wondering if there is anything stopping people uploading ISOs to a filesharing site for others to download - you'd still need the key to actually install.

Just got my hidden BT folder on my 8.1 gaming desktop. No clue what build I'm on, but it's probably the latest since I just let it auto update all the time.

I have that folder too. There is a setup exe in there. Can I run that early or do I have to wait for it to do it automatically?

You'll just get an error if you try to run it.

Just stop over-thinking it.

When you're able to upgrade, the process will tell you whether or not you can continue.

"Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro", failed 3 times.

I assume it's happening sooner rather than later.

Unless it is actually downloading anything, that folder should be there for most people on 10240. Mine just contains rollback files etc. linked to Windows 7 and some boot files like memtest.

Thanks. My windows folder is actually 37GB so I wouldn't know what to delete anyway. One of the reasons I can't wait for W10.

Ok, ran all the updates on my 8.1 drive and Windows BT is loading up.

What's the max file size?

I am going to switch to my 10240 drive and let the BT file load there. Not sure if I am going to be able to do what I want to do (activate my 10240 drive with the upgrade from 8.1 drive) but we shall see. Important thing is getting that Genuine 10 pro registered on my Windows account. I can work with that.

I don't have the $Window.~BT FOLDER.

And nothing is being downloaded into my C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download FOLDER.

Microsoft doesn't like me

Don't worry, I still have 140mb in the bt folder, although in Windows -> SoftwareDistribution -> Download I have a file from today at a size of 2.64gb. No clue if it's Windows 10 data though because the size hasn't updated in ages.

Wasn't there earlier; created at 4:10 PM today (EST). Only about 80mb in size, nothing to rollback to 8.1 contained in it, either.

For me it wouldn't download unless I had the hidden file's properties open. After that it was done in about a half hour.

My size on disk is currently 4.80 GB.

The folder itself was created on the 10th, just like the one that I have my Windows 10 10240 build.

This whole thing feels like Skynet.

The esd/install files being downloaded atm are the same as the RTM build which was released and that people have been installing.

The current windows 10 if you already have RTM and have had all your windows updates so far is:

Same here. I left my PC at idle for more than five hours and still nothing. I reserved the copy months before and all updates are installed even optional ones. My wife's laptop got the folder seconds after turning it on. She doesn't even want to upgrade any time soon. Hers is Windows 7 while I'm on Windows 8.1. This sucks. I'm going to bed and cry.

This doesn't really mean much, but I got slightly better performance in 3DMark Firestrike extreme with a slightly lower overclock on the GPU.

So there seems to be some (very) minor performance gains even in DX11.
