Nah. Mine went through that whole process. It's just prepared for installation, it didn't actually let me do it yet.

Same here. It tried upgrade then failed, and now just says "windows 10 upgrade reserved. We will let you know when the upgrade is ready to be installed"

Must be the time-zone lock Microsoft could've implemented. Only letting those time zones that have officially reached the 29 upgrade....hmm...will confirm soon if this is the case.

Live in the PST, so its not 12 AM here yet...

Edit: Looks like I was mistaken, there is no time-zone lock as other GAF members where it is already 12AM on the 29 are having the same issue...sorry for the confusion.

Well, good to know!

Can you clean install without any discs or anything like that? I'm not terribly educated on the matter but a clean install would probably be a good thing for my pc.

It's not a time zone thing. It's 03:20AM where I am and it keeps failing after preparing to update.

I knew it was going too well, no matter what I do every time I boot I'm greeted with this black screen with my cursor :/

Edit: It set my main display as my TV....

Okay...

I just restarted and now my PC is stuck in a constant restart loop. I can't get to safe mode. I have tried taking out the ram, and video card but it's still in a loop. I'm worried my motherboard just died.

Dang, got error after download install prep

WindowsUpdate_80240020 error

So it attempted to install (Toronto, Canada), I got an error Windows Update error 8024001E,

older posts on the MS' helpsite says run sfc /scannow on CMD

its at 82%

I miss getting an RTM ISO.

When doing the clean install did you use the ISO method or the one built into Windows 10?

USB ISO, but it's fine, Windows had just set my TV as the primary display. All is well.

Sad you can't use Cortana unless you agree to let Microsoft spy on everything you do :/

Hmm, said it was installing and made me restart my pc a few times now in Windows Update it says

"Windows 10 upgrade reserved - We'll let you know when the upgrade is ready to be installed on this PC"

It was bloody installing.

I tried turning on my laptop as usual. Apparently the uefi boot sector went missing overnight. Tried using a restore USB from my other 10 PC but it failed.

Weird. At least this particular system is mostly backed up in the cloud but I guess I learned my lesson. Make a USB restore disk with system files just in case...

My first restart after having it installed took longer than I expected it would. At first I thought I was going to be stuck on a black screen. I just created a gamertag (I never have before) and already had to use my free name change, lol. I didn't see an option to set my tag so it randomly gave me one.

I also had the latest AMD driver downloaded in case, but it appears it already updated it to the newest one.
