Still no fix for "Something Happened"?
Possibly use this link it worked for me: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3f5n8u/fix_something_happened_windows_10_installation/

So yesterday I upgraded and then used reset to get a fresh install. But I still didn't like how reset formatted my harddrive. It still left that stupid 40MB Dell partition, plus a few random sections of unused space between partitions, it looked like a mess to me. Though, It was probably mostly Dell's doing, not Microsofts.
So I formatted my harddrive myself, and tried to do a fresh install right from USB to see what would happen.
*sigh*
Windows 10 wouldn't activate.
I had to then:
- Format my hard-drive again
- Reinstall WIndows 8.1
- Upgrade to Windows 10.
- Reset Windows 10, so it's a fresh install
Since my windows 8.1 was a fresh install I probably didn't need to do that last step, but I did anyways.
Now finally. I'm activated. I have a fresh Windows 10 installation. And my harddrive is partitioned exactly how I want it to be.
If anyone thinks Apple isn't doing the exact same thing I would have a sensible chuckle at their face.
So it's safe to delete those $BT files?
Has anyone noticed how slow the boot time is for Win10 is compared to Win8.1?
When I was on 8.1 it loaded pretty damn fast. Like under 10 seconds.
Windows 10 however, takes close to a minute to do the same. Maybe more.
What's the deal here?

Learnt the hard way yesterday that formatting fucks up your activation. I couldn't finish the windows 10 install because the restarts would result in bluescreens so I went for a clean install from the USB which fucked my activation up. I think your method is the only way of fixing it. Which is incredibly stupid because looking at my Microsoft account I could see the windows 10 licence but couldn't activate that particular install of windows 10.
How did you do the driver update? Mine isn't particularly sluggish, but I wouldn't mind having it up to date.
My HDD is filled up, though. Gotta clean some stuff, not sure what's still taking up so much space.
Have a good chuckle then. I'm pretty sure Apple doesn't share my WiFi password with my facebook friends, or do most of the other stuff on that picture.
I have a AMD Radeon 7660G in my laptop (one of the higher tiers) and DirectX 11.2 is the highest our GPUs will go. Our GPUs are based on AMD's VLIW4 tech (4+ years old now) which maxes out at DX11 (Nvidia's generational equivalent is Fermi for reference).
Oh wow that even works in windows 7, surprised I never heard of that. so many good shortcuts added in 7 with the windows key.

I deleted all of my antivirus and firewall apps before installing 10 and now I'm just using all the Windows security stuff instead.
Bad idea?
The Xbox app I suppose. It should come pre-installed on any machine.
Wow this feels good, though I have to remove a lot of bullshit like those unnecessary pinned crap.
Is there a way to make Settings in Start Menu go to Control Panel than the simplified crap? And Computer as well in the Start Menu?

Windows 7 was ran like a breeze but that's the OS it was built for at the time.Did it run Windows 7 / 8.1 okay?
Is there any reason why I can't change the install location of my apps?

Neither does MS, unless you very specifically tell them to. And you must be joking with your last statement. You don't think Apple collects and stores data from Siri? Or stores your settings in the cloud in order to sync across devices? A lot of stuff in that image is just fear mongering.
Goodness gracious windows 10 is a resource hog. Lol my 2011 PC Is gasping for air.
Minor issue, but does anyone know how to pin the edge tabs...probably bad wording
I have dual screens and usually I will have chrome on one monitor with 2 tabs specific for work and my main screen will usually have Chrome with other tabs.
With Chrome I can easily drag and drop tabs between 2 seperate windows
As soon as I drag a tab out of my Edge browsing window it becomes it's own independant window and I cannot merge it

Just to chime in that not only did this work, but the upgrade was nice enough to tell me which programmes had to be uninstalled. Apparently an incredibly old version of Daemon Tools I didn't even knew was still installed doesn't work on Windows 10, lol.IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS
I am able to so maybe its not seeing it in disk management?
Is it normal that I haven't gotten my upgrade yet?
Check your Windows Update (Installed Updates) and see if it has failed a bunch of times. Also check your Windows 10 upgrade on the task bar and see if it is telling you wait for a notification as it is being rolled out in waves.
You may just need to kickstart it by opening a command window and using the wuauclt.exe /updatenow command. I had to use this command and the upgrade went seamless.
Hmm suddenly lost a lot of GB. Are there any files worth deleting after install, like leftover stuff?
