I haven't checked that topic in a while, but I'm having issues with my PC going out of standby mode by themselves after a few minutes. Apparently it's a common issue mentioned in several support forums, but I couldn't find any official answer on that topic.
Does anybody here know anything about it, or is it just "wait for the update that will fix it" ?
run the command prompt as administrator, type "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" to see which devices (like the mouse, keyboard or network adapter) woke up your PC. You can go to device manager and disable those devices from waking up the machine by unchecking "allow this device to wake the computer" in Properties-Power Management.
If that doesn't help, go to Event Viewer and find out the time in which your PC woke up and the reason. If it was something about automatic maintenance, go to the Control Panel - System and Security - Security and Maintenance - Change maintenance settings and uncheck the option that allows it to wake your PC.
If the event is related to windows update, go to Control Panel - System and Security - Power Options - Edit Plan Settings - Change advanced power settings and then, under "Sleep", disable the "Allow Wake Timers" option.
Hope that helps.
It turns out it was the type keyboard (and associated "mouse") that were waking up my tablet (Surface Pro 2 FYI). Disabling the waking option for those circumvented my issue. Thanks a lot.
