w11 is free?
How is steam working?Real painless upgrade. Went from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro.
Fine. No problems. How is steam working?
I will try it tomorrow i think.Fine. No problems.
I reboot often and am running 32GB.Reboot often to clear up RAM. Microsoft has yet to acknowledge the memory leak issues found by Reddit months ago, doubt a update fix will be a available anytime soon
A memory leak in Windows 11's File Explorer is holding users' RAM hostage
Windows 11 will soon be rolling out, but will File Explorer keep chomping through your RAM?www.pcgamer.com
w11 is pretty much the same as w10 so everything should still work the same. How is steam working?
Upgraded both my machines. Extremely easy and fairly quick to upgrade. One of the first things I did though was remove Teams. Boy they put that front and center didn't they? Oh and if you want to see the new store, you have to open up the current store and do a mass update for all your apps. It's a lot more organized now.
Just on the installer I think. To those who upgraded / updated to Windows 11, did you have to agree to an end user license agreement or other agreement during the update / upgrade process?
Because Apple has been doing free OS upgrades for years. No reason to charge for an OS anymore. How come it is free?
Because the money is in services with monthly or yearly charges, creating a barrier to entry to your platform no longer makes sense. How come it is free?
Yeah same with 10 and 8 and 7To those who upgraded / updated to Windows 11, did you have to agree to an end user license agreement or other agreement during the update / upgrade process?
Does it keep your applications and such installed when you upgrade?
Ask permission? Lol. MS will download it and force you to install it! /sNoob question, how do i avoid the automatic upgrade?! Or windows is gonna ask my permission before installing?!
So how do i avoid that?! I let other people do the lab rats for M this time.Been running it a few days now. No issues! Quite happy with it overall but if I’m being picky wish we could disable the start menu search bar and the recent files list but it’s not a huge issue.
it doesn’t feel like a major upgrade it honestly could’ve just been Windows 10 21H2 but it is what it is and that’s apparently Windows 11 21H2 lol.
I don’t see the need to increase requirements and lock people out. Hopefully we don’t get Windows 12 until 2027 and that everyone who can run 11 will be good for another 6 or so years. I have a feeling MS are gonna do Windows 12 next year though and then Windows 13 in 2023. Basically copying macOS with annual updates.
Ask permission? Lol. MS will download it and force you to install it! /s
”if something is free then you’re the product”How come it is free?
My understanding Is you can just ignore the option to install it and only download Windows 10 updates. in your update section you’ll keep getting W10 updates but you need to click download Windows 11 if you want it. It won’t download itself unless you ask. I could be wrong or it could change. So how do i avoid that?! I let other people do the lab rats for M this time.
it's a known issue.I would install it if Windows Update wasn't stupid. It insists my PC doesn't meet the requirements whilst the PC Health Check says it does.
Yeah go ahead and download it beta testers. I'll get it in a year when its better.
yeah you still need TPM.Do they still require tpm? Also can I install it on my 6700k even though Microsoft says it’s not supported even though I can practically guarantee it’ll run fine.
This isn’t a game console OS. W11 was very stable even in the beta phase.Yeah go ahead and download it beta testers. I'll get it in a year when its better.
and achtually windows 11 doesn't currently have a beta phase so chew on that The CockatriceThis isn’t a game console OS. W11 was very stable even in the beta phase.
