Hmm perhaps the transformer book may also have wacom support. Maybe not. We'll have to see.

Last time I used a netbook it struggled running microsoft word.

Really hope some of these wacom digitised sceens come with Ivy bridge.

The wacom support is huge. I could see myself going with one of these over a MPB if it's as good (or close) to the current cintiques

I am confused why they have Wacom on the 810 but not the highend transformer book. It's actually kind of baffling.

Windows 8 is supposed to run better than Windows 7 on low powered hardware though. We really can't decide if the performance will be 'good enough' until the the devices are available for review.

Now has any 7" Win8 ( or Win RT) tablet with Wacom pen support been announced yet?

In the case for photoshop work how windows 8 run will not matter if the chips can't handle how artists and designers regularly uses photoshop/any other adobe creative suite program. That's not to mention being able to multitask between them which is pretty important for my workflow.

Then again maybe it's not aimed at the pro market. Or the CPU will be better than I think it is. Netbook level performance is not encouraging though.

Wake me when someone announces integration of Wacom tech at a price quite a bit less than a series 7 slate, around ~$500 or so. I'll drop android in an instant.

The 800 will surely be less than 1100 dollars.

Does anyone know how good the atoms actually are? I am not a pc gamer, but I like to play Team Fortress 2 from time to time. I wouldnt care if i needed to lower the settings. A tablet/netbook office-and-internet machine would be great without having to drop a premium for ivybridge.

If you want to do intensive Photoshop work, you shouldn't be looking at tablets with an Atom. Medfield was already reviewed by Anandtech and its about as fast as today's high end smartphone chips, like the S4. That's how it's able to use far less power than traditional x86 chips. It's an SoC.

The 810's 2GB of ram will be challenging as well.

Anyhow, what's up with these guys making monster tablets? 12" and higher tablets will be much heavier than the (already heavy) 10" ones. And this…I just don't know…

Wall mounted devices, for kiosk's, for the less portable locations parhaps. Lots of usage really, especially for companies.

Loving the W700 from Acer. Just what I wanted out of a Win tablet!

Whoooooooo!

This is basically exactly what I wanted.

Transformer form factor

Wacom Support.

This is going to be awesome. I just hope the processor is up to snuff.

Damn it. Love the design. Hate the Atom.

Also.. is that... is that a... capacitive Windows button?? Ugh.

So, Windows-GAF, what do you think is the most promising Ultra book / Tablet half breed they are showing off?

Who knows what it is. It's still got the old windows logo so the hardware is definitely not final.

Also, I wonder when Nokia will show off their tablet design.

Good question actually. I am really interested what kind of design their tablet will be.

Not at Tablex.

Probably on one of the Nokia events this year (Nokia World was split up).

So roughly comparable with a Tegra 3 (but on a single core), that's not a terrible trade off considering you get X86 compatibility. Which is probably a must for early adopters.

It should be dual core.

Hey look, Asus PR are pieces of shit. Guess they don't care about female customers.

Whaaaa?! You mean to say that those booth girls are used for sex-appeal? Nooo, unpossible!!!

Yes, these asian trade shows have never been modest in their objectification of women. But Asus is going out of their way to do it now through social media. It's pathetic.

The Atom solution is supposedly Clover Trail which is 1.8GHz dual core with hyperthreading and an SGX 544MP2 GPU. Should be one of the first Atoms with okay-ish performance :P

If Intel manages to make Windows drivers that actually work for the GPU that is...

hmmm ... interesting

I look forward to benchmarks

TheVerge says the Iconia W510 has a 1080p IPS display. Noone else is saying this, so I'm doubtful if it's correct. If true though, that would be a pretty sweet device. Except for the bulkish looking docking mechanism.

Agreed. LG is probably the worse offender though.

They probably mixed it up with the W700, which comes with a 1080p display.

Oh come on, that's fucking hilarious for an official PR Twitter account. I'm not condoning objectification of women (or men by companies like A&F / Hollister) but employment is an exchange relationship and if you opt for that job, you know what you're being hired for.

Of course they know what they're being hired for. The fact that Asus is promoting it directly is what's pathetic.

Meanwhile on the gaming side: "Who got the best booth babes?"
Nerd industries are the worst.

I'm still surprised how man over on the gaming side don't know about the Xbox Live integration and Xbox Companion app in Windows 8. Especially in the SmartGlass thread.

I am keeping tabs on what I like. The Transformer Book and Lenovo ideaPad Yoga call me. I can't with the Acer's anymore, maybe the W700 since it needs to be at least Ivy Bridge ULV.
