It's like they did some research and found the T-Mobile UK site.

Oracle is asking Android OEMs to pay $15-20 per handset. add Microsoft's patent fees and it makes all those big market share claims by analyst extremely believable.
Zune desktop will convert your files before adding them to your phone.Greyface said:is there any way to watch .avi files on WP7?
no, it only allows me to "mark as unread" my messages, not delete.ochobit said:You can delete the messages on the app, tho. It works for me. But yeah, it sucks.
I have mixed feelings for the Facebook app. On one hand it provides enough functionality to use it daily, on the other hand, it needs to be updated to handle groups natively (not the in browser way it's using now), and should SCROLL to the newest message on an inbox.
When you open the actual inbox you can delete the message. A little trash can appears at the bottom of the screen.thirty said:no, it only allows me to "mark as unread" my messages, not delete.
thanks. still no fun having to go into each fb message sent and received to individually delete them. wtf, I don't want my current gf to find old messages from old relationships. my gf does on ocassion go into my phone to play pacman dx, ....or so she says.ochobit said:When you open the actual inbox you can delete the message. maeh2k said:man, deciding between the Optimus 7 and the Omnia 7 is hard.
I will probably order the phone this weekend.
I'd like the nice screen on the Omnia and I think that camera quality is also important.
but then you read all those things about pixel structure and color banding and update problems...
With the Optimus camera quality might be a bit of an issue.
Right now I'm inclined to go with the Optimus...
brotkasten said:If you're into geeky stuff, then get the Optimus 7, because you can always dev unlock your device for sideloading apps. No need for a jailbreak or official AppHub subscription.
Downsides for debranding? Hm, you don't get any promotional stuff on your phone, if your carrier does something like that. Orange UK are giving away one app per day this month. On the other hand, you'll get the updates when Microsoft releases them, no need to wait for carrier testing and approval.maeh2k said:Dev unlocking and debranding might be a good idea. Are there any big risks to that?
Do you have any good resources that describe how to do that stuff?
As for debranding I stumbled over this link wmpoweruser
Would you recommend doing that? Any downsides?
Are there any other things I should do first when I get the phone?
Btw, thank you for your responses, brotkasten![]()
I like the idea that it was designed as a Windows Mobile 7 phone and then was reused as a WM 6.5 phone, but it seems silly when you think about it. Still, such a weird phone.Copernicus said:

Yeah, I had the same thought, but I wanted it for Android. One warning, though.I've read that it can't properly do multitouch and that's a hardware limitation (like the G1).Copernicus said:I've been wanting a new phone for a while, and I can find these on craigslist for like $100, I might get one.

True as hell. My friend has one and it's amazing, just a shame his usb port is dead. I'm thinking of taking it over from him and using it as a developing device to test code on. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just use bluetooth for data transfer or if a usb link is required for this stuff.Copernicus said:
Nothing has changed since launch. New devices will be introduced in few months, with a Nokia flagship device coming at the end of this year.Mat C said:Is there a definitive go to WP7 handset that people would recommend? Abit like how the Galaxy and Desire are normally touted as the two best Android handsets?
I've not kept any tabs on WP7 since the launch, where it was pretty much a case of 3 or 4 different handsets were all good options but none of them really excelled or stood out. Has that changed? I've currently got a 3 year old iPhone 3G which desperately needs replacing at some point. I'm feeling a change from iOS would be nice and I'm not a huge fan of Android. Plus WP7 looks pretty nice.
You can install Mango on yours too if you want. It will just void the warranty and you won't get any support from MicrosoftZerokku said:So if my phone is dev-unlocked are there any issues doing so? My brothers brother in law is doing some WP7 dev work and willing to throw my brother and I on his account for dev unlocking. My brother will be the one getting mango though![]()

I expect more Windows 8 talk than Windows Phone, but maybe we'll see some unannounced mango features.
