Glad to see OEMs adding useful stuff, I wonder how much access they really have. Seems like if you can develop something like call blocking then it must be fairly open.

Spotify works without Facebook account just fine.derFeef said:So Spotify is now available in my country as of today, but the app does not support the Omnia 7. What the hell?

God, I'm so sorry for this. I really am. I was working on an updated OP, but I am buried in work right now and everything is kinda going to hell here.Greyface said:hey brotkasten when are you going to update the OP with the new generation of phones?
Nope, it is arequirement for new users I just found out in the Spotify thread.GCX said:Spotify works without Facebook account just fine.
I just don't see why a facebook account is needed for signing up on spotify. I have nothing against sharing and socializing, but a requirement is stupid in my opinion. Anway, Spotify I will never use.MagniHarvald said:Spotify is a social music streaming app, what did you expect..? Serisously. Don even worry about it. Untill the nokia phone comes to US or canada. Don't even bother.brotkasten said:God, I'm so sorry for this. I really am. I was working on an updated OP, but I am buried in work right now and everything is kinda going to hell here.

psst, the nokia phone isnt even the best available right now (and you only care about Canada anywayComplex Shadow said:Serisously. Don even worry about it. Untill the nokia phone comes to US or canada. Don't even bother.
List with phone hardware/features and carriers is done. I'd need a write-up on the new Bing features.Greyface said:psst, the nokia phone isnt even the best available right now (and you only care about Canada anyway. I only bugged brotkasten because I can't find any reviews of the Samsung Focus S. WTF? Hopefully Nokia delivers a phone with a frontfacing camera, wifi hotspot, led notifications/screen notifications and a pentaband radio (i.e. the Nokia N9 running WP7) instead of the Lumia LTE rumors going around. oh well, i'll help out with the OP during weekend, assuming no one else can step. A minimal list of new phones would be useful until brotkasten has more time.

This works.besiktas1 said:
Bing features:
It does cool shit. You can scan bar codes and it searches for shit. Text gets translated using camera and it can tell you what music is playing. With the Omnia 7 you will accidentally press the bing button a lot, it has a nice picture daily. After a while it will stop being annoying and you learn to live with it. Kind of like the girlfriend we don't have and she speaks to you only during a cut scene of a game.

that's more likely dell's fault not the seller. i had a problem with my dvp but bought it from a friend and wasnt expecting a refund, so id count that as a plus for blinq actually.Milly79 said:Well, I purchased another phone from blinq. I'd kinda be wary if anyone ever does business with them. The phone is in immaculate cosmetic condition, but the software is so fucked on my DVP. The colors are way off when the slider is down, and sometimes it has some graphic errors. It won't even update for some reason. It just keeps rebooting and rebooting until I take it off of the USB (Mac and PC). They had a "Like New" straight from Dell with an open box for $10 more, but they also discounted me $10 and gave me 2 day shipping as well as refunding my money once I send this one back (just waiting on my new one to get here).
They carry quite a few Windows phones on their site and eBay, so please be careful when buying from them. Save yourself the hassle and deal locally or just get it brand new.

it's worth a shot. actually follow those steps in the link i quoted and when you get to the final screen try using the pulse count callibration: cover the proximity sensor and press the button. I'm not sure why your dvp isnt getting the updates, mine got them easily. perhaps you could use the mango forced update trickMilly79 said:Was your screen problem the exact same? I'd love to just keep this one, but I'm sure they've already got it shipped out. They are pretty quick about response time, but they supposedly test all their units for faults. I'd say it's half Dell/half blinq. It's irresponsible to sell something in full working condition especially if you test it and it has these faults.
You can have them charge to your carrier which will show up on your bill. I have that feature turn off because I have 2 kids also on my wireless plan.U2NUMB said:I am still so upset that MS does not let me use my points to buy things on the phone. I refuse to put a credit card back onto my account.

There's also a sighting in a promo video of what might be the new Nokia Ace/900. Looks nice IMO, especially like how little bezel there is and how the buttons aren't always visible. Nokia just made the video private, so it might be the real deal.
