Don't think I can do that, any other way online?
Yeah, I can't call (Not in the US/UK) and this Phone isn't even out here.MasterLeePhD said:

Well that's pretty lame.I got 2 mobile numbers by having one on each contact for my roommate.. I have one phone number from his facebook information and another from my google contact info.. you're right about not supporting multiple mobile numbers on the device.. but you could create separate contacts and link them together to get around that.
You could have one that was like Your Friend (text) and Your Friend (phone) and link them into a single contact.

When you say, "You could have one that was like Your Friend (text) and Your Friend (phone) and link them into a single contact", I'm not sure I follow. I didn't see a way to specify (text) at all? And there's only one mobile selection as well.
I'm sorry but I'm still not following you. What do mean by "Describe one as text"? When adding numbers, there is no option for text. It automatically uses the mobile number in the People hub.Robobandit said:Create 2 contacts for your friend.
Describe one as Text and the Other as Phone..
go into your contacts list and merge them into a single contact by tapping on one and hitting the "Link" icon in the middle on the bottom.
Then you'll be able to call/text either mobile number that your friend has.
It's lame that you can't have multiple numbers listed as mobile, but in all fairness most people don't have more than one mobile phone number... so for most folks this isn't going to be an issue.

With the amount of smart phone users employing services like google voice, there is probably a decent amount of people with separate text and mobile numbers. So either they need to have separate text and mobile selection, or offer more than one mobile.
Similarly, I'd argue that there's a fair number of people with multiple mobile phones. One a work phone, the other personal. Having the ability to text each of them would be quite useful. Couple both of those situations together and I doubt it is nearly the corner case you believe.

What is the parenthesis stuff? Placing it in as part of their doesn't seem to do anything?Robobandit said:I mean make the contact name "Your friend (text)" and "Your Friend (phone)".. i.e. create 2 contacts, one for each of your friend's mobile numbers and then link them into a single contact entry.
No custom ringtones, yeah.Karma said:A girl at my work had gotten a Windows Phone and was telling me that there was no way to set custom ringtones. Is that true? Also, is there any shoutcast apps yet?
Raistlin said:What is the parenthesis stuff? Placing it in as part of their doesn't seem to do anything?
What your method will do is allow multiple mobile phones, so at least it's workable. It's still kind of crappy though since it will show up as 'call mobile, call mobile, text mobile, text mobile'. Usable, but cumbersome.
The point obviously is it shouldn't be this cumbersome. If linking accounts allows multiple mobile phone numbers, than why can't you just manually add a second mobile? And more useful why can't you simply edit to have a separate mobile and text instead of having duplication but using the multiple contact method?

thanks for that link. I was just about to ask how to import contacts from the SIM card but it doesn't appear possible. The phone arrives today *fingers crossed*Raistlin said:Here a thread with some useful trips and tricks

When pinning a page to your start screen in Internet Explorer:
Make sure you are zoomed in on a recognisable part of the page. The current zoom level of the page becomes the Tile snapshot image.
Tip is then: Zoom in on the page logo etc!
Renaming isn't the issue it's the fact that the type is used to automate actions. I'll show u what I mean Wednesday. It's hard to describe if u aren't familiar with the UICrankyJay said:You can't make custom phone labels in the contacts section?
iPhone's contact section supports it but it's not immediately obvious. Try pressing on the label to see if it can be renamed.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?MCD said:Now the only remaining issue left is youtube not working. I can only see a black screen then it returns to the main menu. Hitting back gives me this error:
There was a problem playing the video you selected. If you are connected to Zune, disconnect and try again.

So how do you do that?dallow_bg said:I finally figured out how to change the background image and live tile image for the Pictures app.

Lucky you. I went from zune to itunes, syncing is archaic compared to zune.venne said:Currently setting up my wife's Focus.
I must say, syncing media with Zune software is a revelation coming from iTunes. Very impressed.

Alright, as slow as iTunes can be, this is hyperbole.antiquegamer said:Not to mention taking forever to do so on iTunes. Often time when I have to sync my iDevices I would have to dedicate the time when I know I won't be needing the phone or the iPad for at least an hour.

So to compare I plugged in my phone to the computer and it launched Zune and synced in about a minute and a half. I love the report it gives you of what photos and videos it backed up and what songs and podcasts were removed or added to the phone.Mr. Snrub said:Same. My 16GB 3GS would take a minimum of 20-30 minutes to backup and sync.
Not sure but I could test later with my mom who has an iPhone 4.PG2G said:Anyone know if WP7 supports whatever codec iPhone uses when it sends videos via MMS? I've gotten a few videos from friends and I just get a black screen with audio.
