NoDo Get!!!!!!!
I finally pulled off the NoDo update on my Samsung Focus, and I couldn't be happier. Haven't had time to mess around with it fully, but I think others have already talked about it's definitely snappier, the games open up faster, copy/paste works nicely, and market is more stable and easier to search. This should address many of the concerns I have on the platform.
This is what worked for me, so thank you a ton for your help in this thread, and thanks to brotkasten for his help as well.
So.......now what? I know there were some folks pissed at me for my negative attitude in this thread, but it'll definitely subside for a while....until the NEXT time MS is late on an update and AT&T blocks it.
Brettison, I definitely suggest you look into giving it a shot. I wouldn't say it was easy for me, but there weren't any steps that made me feel like I could potentially brick my phone. It was pretty straightforward. ymmv.
To anyone with a Focus that is going to give this a shot, and especially if you have a storage card and have filled up the phone, I would suggest emptying out the synced data first. The February update wouldn't work for me until I took most of the stuff out (I was only using about 2gb when I got the update to work). So I would say that MS still hasn't perfected the update for the Focus in some respects, but that was the only issue I encountered aside from connecting to the Hungary server.
