October 5, 2005 - Konami has some big plans for Winning Eleven on the Xbox 360. In an interview in the latest Famitsu, series producer Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka revealed that not only does he plan on including Xbox Live Online play with the upcoming Xbox 360 version, but he eventually hopes to realize full 11 versus 11 Online play. It's unclear if we can expect this feature in the next installment, which is due on Xbox 360 in late 2006, but Takatsuka feels that 11 versus 11 play is something that Xbox 360 and other next generation systems should be capable of.

Takatsuka also reveals to the magazine that his team is planning a number of things for future Winning Eleven installments, including creating more accurate digital representations of real world athletes. The future is bright for soccer fanatics.

What can I say. This game alone, with online play, just guaranteed my X360 purchase. Now, I demand some pictures, damn it...

I agree, but again I don't see huge sales and I don't see it close to that million mark that PS2 installments usually sell.

If the graphics is only so so, then people might hold on until the PS3 version.

What's he mean by full 11 on 11 play? As in 22 players in a match, each person controlling 1 player in-game?

Yeah, but in the world wants to be a goalie or a defender? :lol :lol :lol

If WE 360 is released earlier than PS3 version... then it would push a great deal for X360 in Europe and Japan too - my expectation is that it will do alot better in Europe than in Japan though..

It comes out next year, all of the game will be done with a final kit. The game will look kickass

Yup, and I can image the poor bastard who is picked to be goalie quits within 10 secs of the game starting ;p

Guy 1: Come on! ****ing pass the ball.
Guy 2: You ****ing idiot, I'm surrounded!
Guy 3: **** you. You guys never ****ing pass the ****ing ball to me.
Guy 4: That's because you're a ****ing ******.
Guy 5: Would you guys stop *****ing? We're losing the ****ing game.
Guy 6: .
Guy 2: What the **** is up with Guy 6? I just passed him the ball and he's not doing anything.
Guy 7: Oh, that's my roommate. He left.
Guy 8: **** **** **** *****!
Guy 9: Let's ban Guy 8.
Guy 10: But then we'll forfeit the ****ing game.
Guy 11: *sound of idle music playing*

I think 11 vs 11 would probably suck but I can't wait to try it :lol Late 2006 though :(

Ah well at least I'll have PES5 in my PS2 in a week or two :D I hope the online is alright. I would get the Xbox version but I just can't use the controller well for it and my friends refuse to even try.

Well, it sounds awesome in theory, but playing with real people you don't know (most of the time) would ultimately prove a frustrating experience.

I think such a feature could work awesome in an NBA game though. The ability to sport a regular 5-man crew that aren't tards, most of which you personally know, would be incredible.

I could picture myself getting yelled at to make more of an effort on the boards. :lol

This game is coming out for PS3 as well and they're both dropping at the same time so unless one really differentiates from the other I don't see much of an impact for 360 in Japan but if they play their cards right maybe for Europe.

11 vs 11 would turn into an offside, everyone's a striker-fest. Including the goalie.

But I still want it badly.

Don't think this will do anything for Xbox 360. It did little for PSP.

Agreed, especially if Konami keeps throwing out WE10, WE11 for the PS2.

But if the XBOX360 version looks kick-ass, then that's a different question altogether.

Here's a hope that the players don't look like plastic models with grease all over them.

It might, but just think if you actually got 11 players playing like a team. It would be some experience and I can only imagine the great moves you could pull off. Givs me goosebumps just thinking of it.

Yeah but the PSP version is just a stripped down port of WE9. Xbox 360 is getting brand new version.

What hurt WE9 PSP the most is that it came out after the PS2 version already brought in alot of sales. According to that article WE10 will be out in late 2006 and by that time the PS3 should be out which would mean there would be atleast a PS2, PS3, PSP, DS and 360 version of the game.

The 360 can finally play Winning Eleven as well as the PS2.

Xbox controller is great overall, but the Dual Shock was much better for Winning Eleven. With the addiction of the two extra shoulder buttons 360 is in good shape for Winning Eleven. Can't wait to see what they do with this game on a next gen console. I mean how much better can the physics get?

You think the PS3 game will just magically appear out of thin air? Surely they will plan to have all the versions out at roughly the same time. What hurt the PSP game was bad load times, lack of features and word of mouth. Besides, it actually helped hardware sales for the week, so the idea that a footy game won't help 360 is crazy.

What do you mean out of thin air? They announced a soccer game for the PS3 at TGS and Konami only has 1 soccer series going right now. Doesn't take much to figure out what it is.

Sorry. I thought you were implying that the 360 version would be out after the PS2 version, and that the PS3 version would somehow not have the same issue. If not, disregard what I said.

Isn't 360 getting next gen WE first though? Seem to recall a big deal made about the new 360 WE being exclusive (though that could be anywhere from one to six months...certainly won't be longer then that). Not sure where that exclusivity applies either.

maybe. i bet PS3 launch in europe around october-novermber, just when the new PES arrives, so they'll (360 + ps3) probably get it at the same time.

and in japan the new WE always launch in august... and PS3 will be out by then in japan so it wont be 360 exclusive.

When the ball is in the other half of the field, they should give the goalie some minigames to play, then bring him back into the game when the ball starts to get close. :p
