Tatami Galaxy 10

Does nameless protagonists still talk so quickly? I tried to watch it a while back, but had to keep pausing to catch up on dialogue.

Took a screenshot (back then) for GAF in glorious forced 16:9;

Me neither.

I don't know, I think some characters are rather flat and uninteresting, but the show gets at least a C for effort.

Oh god what have we done.

I suppose that's a good average, though team performance is too bouncy and unpredictable, often acting independantly instead of working together in proper pairs.

We're doing what you think we're doing.

Daily Lives of High School Boys 8

Centipede skit owned.

Also if I'm seeing this correctly next week is
ARCHDEMON
time! As well as Ringo's return!

Indeed, though even with such characters the story retains it's shape and with the exception of some perky episodes here and there the tone seems to be consistent.

We're putting people's lives at risk.

Me neither.

I read fast enough that it isn't a problem for me at all, but that's just how he is. Gotta keep that internal monologue going.

In the arena of tomboys with magickal powers, Cure Sunshine is the best.

Sunshine wasn't so much a tomboy as
afraid to express her femininity
. March = 100% authentic tomboy.

I know, right?

They are both equally overrated!

lawl. On a more serious note, I would say One Piece is the overall better show, so it would "deserve" more of its overall praise/popularity than Bleach. Therefore, making Bleach more overrated. I see no wrong there.

I'm glad that One Piece is as popular as it is in Japan, it actually deserves it.

Diebuster 6

Why did they have to kill off Nono. ;_;

A good ending for the series, I'd say the biggest flaw was that Lal'c was entirely unlikeable most of the time.

March isn't a tomboy, Sunny is.

I don't think that she's as tomboy as Sunny, but I was just following through on the Sunshine vs. March comparison. If you take away the domesticity, I don't think that Nao's that far off, just a lot less hot-blooded.

Almost wholly irrelevant post: Reading the thread title makes me envision a small bar/grill called "Outpost Cajunator" where there's anime playing on the TVs instead of sporting events. Fund it?

Only if you swear to have Tim Schafer make a video to Kickstart it.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm pleased with its popularity as I've enjoyed much from One Piece. First part was more of a tongue-in-cheek Big Three joke.
Even though not completely against its list inclusion, it should be even lower.

I wasn't actually responding to the joke part of your post, so I didn't think that you thought that, hah.

Sounds like you need to think faster!

Oh lol, my bad. Dang text and all these misunderstandings up in hurr!

Curious question: How many anime series are you watching/catching up with currently?

I shouldn't have quoted the first line of your last post, I was just lazy :p

MAL says I'm following 20 different series currently, though a few of these I only watched one episode of and then just decided to wait until they were completed so that I could marathon them.

Jesus wept. Being associated with anime fandom is suffering.

In slightly less depressing news, proper website is up for From The New World. Nothing much new to report on the show, which is getting unveiled properly at Anime Contents Expo at the end of next month, but it gives a clearer look at the key visual.

The screenwriter doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, but it's an adaptation so who knows.

Wow, 48+ episodes for a title like Uchuu Kyodai? Kind of a departure from what we've been seeing lately.

e: I guess Hyouge Mono is another recent title.

[Ano Natsu 8]

I find it amusing that Ichika is the foreign/exotic/alien girlfriend but somehow she's got all these 'ideal' qualities. She's always getting with the cooking or the laundry because that's the women's place in the home.

As expected
the whole alien-plot seems to be nothing more than a device to generate intense amounts of DRAMA whenever the writer deems it appropriate. I suppose it fits in with all the other 'plot devices' present in the show.

The show is really brazen about dropping characters/events solely to move the romance-plot onwards. This would normally be something really bugs me, but the show is so in-your-face with how obvious its being that I find it a tad charming.

Is Uchuu Kyoudai an NHK series? Several non-shounen 3+ cour shows have aired there in recent years like Phi Brain, Hyouge Mono, Element Hunters, and Kemono no Souja Erin.

There's also a flashback scene in chapter 2:
Eureka fell out of the sky 15 years ago and landed in Okinawa. She gave birth to Ao, and people started treating her like an alien. Then there was an incident where there was a massive explosion of Scub Coral growth on the island, and she disappeared after that. Ao is also shunned because of this, and apparently the appearance of Scub Coral on the island is what draws the "Secret" monster invaders to the island.
Wtf.

I don't think it's a sequel. :(

What the HELL is this?

I can't remember if I asked this question before

but

what do you people think of Requiem from the Darkness

It's a very good series, definitely worth your time.
Gunbuster 6
Incredible ending.
I'd even say best ever, but I'm sure that's just the rush of emotion talking.

Anno really loves using the Hallelujah Chorus

It's the power of black & white footage making everything feel more serious.

Space Bros. is an NTV show. It's taking over the 7 AM Sunday slot that Beelzebub currently airs in.

Didn't realize it was early morning. I don't know what this does to my expectations for it, though long-running series are always a welcome surprise provided that they don't end up with terrible pacing.
