Persona 4 - Episode 16

Kenji's a motherfucking badass.

The way they end these episodes with these uplifting pieces of text is really cool.

Seriously though, Madoka is more similar to Bokurano than Eva. The rules of piloting Zearth and being a Puella Magi are very similar as is the general plot progression and there was even a callback to it in one episode.

Huh. I haven't heard of Bokurano until now. The wiki description of it seems kinda interesting.

Is it worth checking out?

I loved the manga because it was in line with Mohiro Kitoh's (the manga author) other work. The anime, I only watched like 8 episodes and I heard there was a huge disagreement between Kitoh and the director. The latter wanted to make it happier IIRC so a few things got changed. Not sure how it turned out, but I think it was still pretty good and some people like the anime more than the manga.

I would say go for it. Of course you've probably already been spoiled on the first major twist if you've read the wiki article, but that's probably okay considering what we're comparing it to.

Another 8

I liked it. I liked
how it seemed that everything would be nice and end well, until Sakakibara asks something and someone dies lol, it makes almost seem like either Sakakibara is the ghost, or Lady Death just has a thing for him (like the other ladies in the show).

Another 8

It's looking more and more like Reiko is the another every single episode

Also...

The curse won't follow them outside of yomiyama. That's what they believed with no reasonable evidence and the reason that guy died was stupid as hell. It's a damned beach ball, leave it in the water! Even if there's no curse following you that's still quite a way out to sea (therefore dangerous) and a beach ball isn't that important. Why was he so damned stupid.

EDIT: How were people saying a page ago that Steins;Gate is otaku pandering? It's a show about otaku/otaku culture. ^^

It's set in Akiba and the four main characters are otaku. Okabe and Kurisu are 2channelers (added on that Okabe is a chuunibyou). Mayuri is a cosplay otaku and Daru is an anime otaku.

[Ano Natsu 5-7]

Inserting characters in specifically to hurry character relationships on is an interesting contrast to the usual 'have character relationships move at an Ah! My Goddess' pace. I'm not saying it's necessarily better, but it is far more entertaining.

Yeah, that was interesting. At first I thought "Oh no, we're moving into harem territory now," until it became apparent that they weren't permanent cast members, but rather characters put in just to speed the development along. I rather like that approach myself, keeps things moving. ^^

Another ep 8
Judging by there is a death outside of Yomiyama, the another has to be among the group which is getting way obvious who is the dead person.
I'm quite surprised for the pacing for this show even it's a beach episode. It's quite laidback. PA works really know how to do it.

Ano Natsu ep8
Ufufufufufu, So lemon isn't exactly what I thought she was.

Poor poor Kanna. Dammit, stop kicking her to the ground, feels bad man :(

Diebuster 2

The Topless are all fairly annoying with their attitude of smug superiority, especially Nicolas. Nono is still cute though, even if they dropped
the fact she's a robot pretty casually.

Persona 4 - Episode 19

This culture festival has incredibly high production values. I'm jealous.

Cross-dressing Yu is not as attractive as I had hoped.

Persona 4 - Episode 20

Woaaaaaah Yosuke did you totally break your neck? Anatomy fail

So kind of a majorly lulz episode, but still totally cute.

Diebuster 3

I guess this episode was supposed to be touching and filled with character development, but when the character has been so unlikeable, it doesn't really work.

Daily Lives of High School Boys 8

Except for the first two skits, this episode was on fire. Especially the Tower, Cake, and Ramen skits, holy shit.

Next episode looks great as well.

Daily lives of highschool boys ep 8
Since when Karasawa is so friendly with Habara?
Since when Nago slim down? Hang on,this is a different Nago?

Hidenori centered episode. Bag skit is hilarious. Can't wait for next week to see Habara's past.

FLCL

A sophisticated and unapologetic science fiction allegory about a an large-scale and very political interstellar war, used as a narrative device to examine human nature and its history? No moe girls talking about hard work and guts? No mecha doing cool poses while the pilot screams? No space aliens with crazy designs trying to kill everyone? Morally ambiguous characters everywhere? An extremely uncomfortable "romance"? Religion?

Very likely the most commendable thing Gainax has done. It has style AND substance.

There we now; now this post makes sense.

Almost wholly irrelevant post: Reading the thread title makes me envision a small bar/grill called "Outpost Cajunator" where there's anime playing on the TVs instead of sporting events. Fund it?

yuko-facepalm-againje580.gif

I have a Persona 4 avatar and fully approve of this facepalm.
Not just because it's Nichijou, either...

Stop buying terrible anime Japanese fans....ok well you can buy Horizon, just stop buying Persona.

The Atlus power ring is stronger than even I could have predicted...
Considering how few people watched it, and how great it was, it was unquestionably really underrated in my opinion.  Even people who disliked it, though, can't really call it overrated, given, well, how unsuccessful it was.
Terribly so. Another reason, I hold no faith in humans and the poor taste MAN supports so openly.

Green is my favorite color so these pictures almost make me want to watch this, but I don't know if I actually will... nice screenshots though, so green! :)

This is what I said. More Green attack for the eyes please, people watching Smile Precure! Moar!

Haruko and Atomsk are the only aliens in FLCL; the MM robots are all manufactured in Earth.
Still counts as more than one alien. And Medical Mechanica is still an intergalactic organization as far as I remember. Haruko is also willing to kill everyone to get back Atomsk.

Daily Lives of High School Boys 8

Oh man, that was a pretty damned good one. That centipede one is SOOOOOOO true. Man's mortal enemy, they are...

There is a huge difference between "willing to kill everyone" and "wanting to kill everyone".

Diebuster 4

This would have been been a pretty bad episode if it wasn't for the last few minutes. All the topless
getting killed made me so happy, it's a pity that they couldn't kill off Nicolas too. Oh well.

Awakened Nono
was awesome, I think that
splitting Titan with a single attack would really mess up Jupiter, but I guess I can let it slide since it was cool?

That most overrated poll is kind of crushing, its like virtually everything I liked as of late got tons of votes, No.6, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Guilty Crown, T&B, Angel Beats, Evangelion film (got me into anime beyond Naruto), Kimi to Boku, One Piece, Toriko, Ben-To, Uta no Prince Sama, Bleach, Naruto, Mirai Nikki, Blue Exorcist, Penguindrum...

Bleach more overrated than One Piece what?

Heartcatch Precure - 48

P04lj.gif

If I were to put it into a word, everything down to the bg music used, the scenes be it the action scenes or the touching sad scenes being greatly done
Yuri just can't catch a break.
And for a while now my rainbows and shit have straight up gone AWOL, these last few episode have been incredibly good.

I suppose one could say the cast is...

... well rounded? ( ´Д`)y━・~~

I'm so sorry!

I don't know, I think some characters are rather flat and uninteresting, but the show gets at least a C for effort.

Oh god what have we done.

Tatami Galaxy 10

So our finale commences.

It's nice to see the show fully embrace its magical realism, and they really pull out all the stops in terms of trying out some unconventional animation technique. Everything emphasizes the protagonist's lonely claustrophobia, trapped in an infinite maze of his own room.

It's easy to see now that this sort of thing was inevitable (it's so central to the visual iconography of the ED, and it's basically in the title), but I'm kind of annoyed that things have to be explicated like this. I guess Yuasa is worried that some people might get the wrong kind of message from the protagonist's repeated failures? Then again, there isn't really a "conclusion" unless the protagonist can somehow firmly see how he needs to change, and this is the only way that kind of catharsis can happen.

I might have liked this show more if I'd marathoned it. It wouldn't have given me time to really consider the implications of any given episode, and then this would come as the kind of shock it seems like it's supposed to be.

Next week, I'll reach the end. It's the first finale in my "new" season!
