Yeah this is stupid. The only thing worse than the great Seven Youma Arc is deciding to revisit it.

What the hell is Ryo doing back in this show? I thought he was gone for good >:/ He’s also a total dweeb, definitely not even good enough to be thinking about Ami let alone actually talking to her.

Kunzite totally laughs off the Queen’s diabolical plans because he knows they are going to fail yet he still gets upset that the Queen decided to pick Endyimon (which still sounds like a damn Digimon name based on the Mets great Endy Chavez). Logically he should be celebrating the fact he doesn’t have to waste his time with a scheme he knows is going to fail miserably, I guess he’s got to front being upset or something.

Char thinks those are some cool glasses.

Makoto is awesome. She might even finish first in what really matters, my end of season Sailor Moon waifu rankings. She chewed out Ami like she was Saber. It’s a shame she couldn’t solo her battle but I guess that wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense.

While I appreciate the anime even telling me this episode is recycled garbage and a waste of my time, I would have preferred it if they didn’t do in the first place or at least had told me at the start of the episode that I could just skip this dredge. Easily one of the worst episodes I’ve watched in a while, no wonder why my motivation for this show has been waning (to say the least).

Dark Precure is cool, but the purple-haired girl (Yuri?) who is obviously Cure Moonlight is pulling the whole annoying "I'm going to be mysterious for no reason!" crap. I wonder if Dark Precure is an ordinary person as well, just like the other precures, the half necklace would certainly imply that.

Awesome! The first episode devoted to Minako and … it’s totally fucked up. I don’t even know where to begin. The people making this season clearly despise Minako. The first episode dedicated to her and she gets hit with the cruelest twist of fate known to mankind,

Minako herself is much more mature than Usagi. This episode drives home that point. Usagi had the reaction Minako would have had, had this been an ecchi inappropriate kind of fanfiction with art panels, and yet Minako herself was calm cool and collected about the whole incident. Except for the entire part about

, that was kind of immature. But she accepts what happens in the end, so good for her. Disappointed though that she was entirely that forgiving but I’m petty like that.

Enjoyed the episode overall although the youma part was completely irrelevant other than the fact that she looked totally awesome, like some crazy awesome

. This episode was completely devoted to one of the girls who really needed it. Not crazy about the content itself, as it literally did nothing to drive the central storyline along nor really even provide background into the characters in this episode but it was enjoyable none the less.

Anyway when the hell is the stretch run going to happen? Theres still a pretty meaty (although I’m not a fan of it myself har har) part of the show left to address and the show is seemingly getting further and further away from addressing it.

As much as I love this series, and I really do, the last half dozen episodes or so for the most part have been really disappointing.

And uh, thats kind of it. Awful, awful, awful episode. One of the worst of the first season. There was really nothing important, relevant or interesting at all from this episode.

3 episodes to go, at some point this show is going to feel like actually getting back to the story. Hopefully. Because this shit is crashing harder than the ending to the 2011 Texas Rangers season.

Well, that was a surprisingly fun watch! I think I laughed nearly the entire way through.

The show takes place in a 1980s Japan with robot technology. Hard to imagine, I'm sure. There is an evil organization called the Demon Seeds! They're lead by Dr. Demon and use his run-down looking mansion on the other side of town as the base of their operations. There exists a police squad specially sanctioned in combating the Demon Seeds, as they cause tons of damage and steal hefty sums of cash. However, the riot police and any other form of resistance they put into place always leave them with a bad public image due to the damage they leave behind.


How does one fix this? EASY! Hold a contest to select the next battle idol!

The entire premise of the show is absurd, the characters are absurd, and the plethora of visual gags and poking of fun at common things in anime are absurd. It's spectacular. None of the characters, sans Chief Hattori (pictured above) are really that memorable, but that doesn't stop them from being loveable. Everyone in this universe has the IQ of a second grader, so they work well in playing off one another.

The animation is average at pretty much all times, but it's more than serviceable for what the show demands. The visual gags are typically where most of the time was put in, and it certainly helps for the payoff of the jokes.


It's a shame this is only two episodes long, because I really wouldn't have minded if this would have been around a 13 episode run. The character of Maron (the combat idol) felt really underdeveloped, regardless of how short it was. She was typically only doing one of three things, so it was a shame they didn't flesh her out a little more until nearly the last ten minutes. It made me laugh that she basically fights like a ten year old, waving her arms and pushing the mechs away, hahaha

The into is amazing, by the way. You should really go watch it. ; P


I think the highlights of the show were

• The tryouts for being the idol
• The doctor's explanation of changing Maron's suit from an entire mech suit to her revealing costume
• Dr. Demon's reveal when he exits a secret compartment/room in his own house, haha
• Demon Seeds scheduling and announcing their attacks, but saying they might cancel if it rains
• Maron forgetting her line when she first fights Demon Seeds

Just a really fun, silly show. If you've got an hour to kill, this is definitely a nice way to do it.

Yeah, the character designs are really good in Heartcatch, it breaks my heart every time I look at Smile Precure.

Everything in Smile is blindingly neon and the characters are 100% trope composites in their design. Suite is better, but Heartcatch is classier and more polished than both in every regard. Don't let Heartcatch's greatness discourage you from watching other Precure series, but be mindful that it's never quite as good again after you move on to other Precures.

The movies are great for a rewatch, not recommended for a first watch.

Personally I think they're better than the show (though a lot of people don't think so). There's so much less annoying because of all the cuts made. :lol
