Winter of Anime 2013 |OT -5| This is stupid, kayos90 sucks!

I've just realised that none of my picks were in the top 10 of results for the AOTY thread.

I'm officially an outcast , now.

My picks had too much talking ..i guess you all hate shows when people talk!

SDBurton

World's #1 Cosmonaut Enthusiast
If SDBurton is so attached to the kids because of the art, he'd probably have a psychological breakdown watching Casshern Sins.

Nah I remember bits and pieces of the Toonami thread and the countless sad/crying posts from Casshern Sins. No thank you!

Regulus Tera

Romanes Eunt Domus
Heartcatch Precure movie
Salamander is shown on the show sort of helping dune where in the movie he hates dune's guts. There is also a major "filler happening in time limbo" inconsistency thing going on. I had a discussion on it with 7th on IRC before when I first watched it and can't recall exact details but I guess I can look at logs.
Ah, that makes sense.
Dark Precure x Cure Moonlight (awesome #hatelovin' potential)
Erika x Tsubomi
Tsubomi x Itsuki
Yuri x Momoka
I love that threesome potential with ErikaXTsubomiXItsuki.
HeartCatch Precure - 43

Tsubomi is going to be
a big sis?
Kudos!

I don't know why, but the little kids in HeartCatch are so adorable.
Do you remember Ringo in Casshern Sins? Umakoshi knows how to tug at your heartstrings. edit: or not

I've been listening to the Guilty Crown OST, and it is so bloody good. One would assume the anime is just as good, but then that would be a horrible assumption.

I still need to watch Guilty Crown.

Btw that's good list, JoJo are this year Avengers/TDKR for anime, just brace it guys :D

Hope its coming again next year with Stardust Crusader!

For your own safety you really don't.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
Hmm, the only one of the top 10 in the AOTY thread I've seen is Humanity has Declined. Loved it, though.

Azumanga Daioh 17

Good episode. Though, any episode with an appearance by Norigod Wakamoto is guaranteed to be good.

You really, really don't wanna do something as silly as that!

I agree. It's easily my favorite OST of 2012. Sadly... I can't say the same for the anime.

Hiroyuki Sawano also worked on Blue Exorcist, which is a far better show. I mean, I skipped like fifteen episodes in the middle but the beginning and the last few episodes are pretty good.

Did you enjoy Blue Gender? If you can get through that and say you enjoyed it than go ahead and watch GC.

SAO doesn't even look that expensive.

All that boob bouncing mang.

Saki Side A Episode 14

Is anyone else having a hard time keeping track of who the protagonist actually is in this series (especially after the long break)? I'm wondering if I have a short attention span of if this is an inherent weakness in the writing/character design. I don't ever remember having this hard of a time even with large casts in other animes.

Just look at this

AoEx staff

Director : Okamura Tensai
Music : Sawano

Compared to whoever Magi got, its have Fairy Tail treatment lol
It's clearly the A-1 show with the best production values since Idolmaster though.

Well.. I guess I can't argue with that.

If you like Sawano's stuff in Guilty Crown, some of his tracks have a cohesive style across everything he does so just watch something better like Gigantic Formula, Gundam Unicorn, or Sengoku Basara.

The top two shows are just people talking, usually.
Houyka doesn't count because it's kyoani-tier.
and no i haven't watched fate/zero for plenty of reasons.

-------------

Gintama 241-242 ( Madame Host arc ) & Drawing manga Episode

The last bunch of episodes before we get to the "thorny arc" that seem cool on the preview.

Madam Host arc
It's a good filler.. plenty of nice situations and old face coming in.
Host work is a lot of work especially when it becomes crazy..i'm actually surprised by the amount of nice jokes this 2 episode have provided me.

And don't forget ..this was all part of the plan !

Gintama%20-%20241.jpg

According to keikaku ( TN : keikaku means "plan" )

Anyway it was a standard gintama filler episode .. well above average ..but nothing that special.

VERDICT : GOOD
--------------
Drawing manga Episode
Episode 243 started with a bunch of jabs aimed at Weekly shonen jump it's amazing gintama still airs after all of this.
What's more intresting is how the just crammed the worse ideas they could find at the end to fill the time.
Still We you've got some sentences like this :

Gintama%20-%20243.jpg

What ? WTF
Then you know you've struck gold.

Awesome comedy , weak finish but still a great episode.

VERDICT : EXCELLENT

It's not just you. The Achiga characters are undeveloped and pretty awful. It doesn't help that the pacing is horrid and they are rushing through everything. With this episode they turned 166 pages into a 30 minutes long mess. It's a shame because I actually found the original Saki to be pretty entertaining. This spin-off is not good though.

whats AoEX about?

Okamura hasn't directed anything since DTB2 I think so I wondered what hes been working on...?

Sora no Woto 12-13 END (rewatch)

That most definitely got the SAO taste out of my mouth. I absolutely love this series, and the ending makes me depressed because there's so many things a second season could do BUT IT NEVER WILL.
It ends perfectly though. You could always listen to the two audio dramas for some more hijinks. The first one explains the mystery of the school house while the second one is set between 12 and 13.

Also, watch Aria if you haven't already, because it's clear Sora no Woto drew directly from that show.

Yeah, I don't know why, but the moment that they put the
real love interest out of focus
, I sort of assumed that he was the one that
she liked. It probably doesn't help given that they tried so hard in the design of the two characters to make the nerdy kid so nerdy compared to his dashing friend.

I'm still enjoying this show and I think it's coming together nicely. I wonder if they're going to the trouble of hiding
the mother's face
means they'll make that an important point later on... but I kind of hope they don't since that angst is kind of tired now.

In YamaShida I believe.

Something something FRAMING.

Something something STEREOTYPES.

Sword Art Online clearly has a sizeable budget but I'm not sure they put their money to the best use with how inconsistent it is, not to mention all the ugly CGI.

He did the new Magi OP and the new Zetsuen ED, and storyboarded stuff in SAO, Magi, etc. He's also writing scripts for Vividred.

It has a spectacular ending, but it leaves me with a wanting for the more that will never come. I've watched the first season of Aria, and while I did like it, it had a really tough time keeping me awake for some episodes. It was way too mellow and calming for my comfort zone. I'll probably watch the next season soon enough since it's so highly praised.

It's for this reason that I am absolutely thrilled to hear about his involvement with Monolith Software's X project. Between his work on Gundam Unicorn and Guilty Crown, he is one of the most talented modern anime composers I've heard in a very long time.

Thanks. That's a little comforting because I was really starting to wonder if I should restart the whole series since it seemed like I was missing something. The whole competition arc just seems extremely hard to follow. I was disappointed when I found out the second season didn't follow the original cast but I never imagined it would be presented in such a convoluted manner.

People like The Natural because it feels like it has a lot more room to breathe in terms of developing the characters and just showing off Venice porn. Heck, The Natural even has a glass making episode (which was one of SnW's earlier episodes), so it does the culture thing quite nicely.
