This episode had some really nice scenes, regardless of the pacing. It seems like
the fiend is actually just a reprogrammed human. Kind of shows how flawed their death feedback is when it can so easily be turned against them.
I liked how
Tokyo is hell on Earth because that's what humans imagine it to be. This, along with the revelation that Shun has etched part of his "soul" into Saki
, seems a very natural extension of the series' Buddhist overtones.

I'm curious as to how the
Psycho Buster
is supposed to work, it looks like it's just a
vial of anthrax. Kiroumaru possibly betraying them is not too surprising, I was wondering why he would have ever gone to Tokyo. I'd guess that he has tyrannical ambitions of his own.

The last scene really was one of those moments where it all comes together. I really like the third version of the main theme.

Y'know, at first I thought the preview would be all legs, then the last two scenes happened.

The bed dive at the end is great.

Honestly I would have liked all legs lol.

I'm pretty excited for the Tamako Market episode because the last two have been awesome and it's due time they start wrapping up the plot points.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
Hidamari Sketch 4

Okay, I'm starting to realize that the episodes aren't in chronological order. Guess I'm going to have to pay extra close attention, since I noticed that they introduced something in this episode that was referenced in Ep. 1.

...I'm going to have to take notes for this series, aren't I? :lol

Which makes my going back and forth on this over a great length of time terrible. I've forgotten most of this stuff since it's been months. I only remember a few bits and pieces from the first half a dozen (which is where I stopped last time) like episode one having the best date.

All I know is that the last episode I watched on Sunday was the day before a sports day and the next episode is going to be months later so we don't even get to see the day of sports.

I assume the years are 2000, 2001 and 2002. That means I'm much younger than the Hidamari girls. They're Christmas Cakes now!

Is there anything with crazy fight sakuga I can watch on Crunchyroll?

Gintama 1-2

Sufficiently amusing to keep on my permanent 'one day I'll watch all of it' list. Also, Tomokazu Sugita.

Thank god there's this guy and his no bullshit approach to things to help balance out all the woo this series peddles. Makes the show worth sticking with.

Just started watching Zetman. Up to episode 4 and I'm enjoying it. Kinda reminds me of The Guyver, so that may be where my pleasure is stemming from.

Still wish Junk was made into an OVA or something.

I cant wait for the dub to start soon. Dots and lines was one of last years best ops.

This series has pretty much nailed the gag flashback and this one was definitely no exception to just how brilliant and creative they are.

[s]Also I'm not quite sure if they were joking about reaching the final ending soon as while they have 24 eps listed here, there's no confirmation that 24 will actually be the last one. I hope it isn't anyway as this show's great. :([/s]

Looks like there's a "Toward the Final ep. Event" announced for March 24 so it's either ending for reals or they're trolling the shit outta us. ;-;

"I Have Few Chairs"
Shouldnt it be 24, the bd listings have been around before it started, unless of course theyll announce a sequel.

Man, Kircheis' ancestor is a pretty loyal person, his undying devotion to whatever cause he believes in must surely run in the family! Seriously though, this was a fantastic episode. I might've been dogging it pretty hard in the early eps for it's less that stellar production values but there are times when it has some utterly fantastic animation and pitch perfect directing and this episode was most definitely one of those. Watching the cast turn from a bunch of fairly simplistic yet incredibly charming and fun loving goofs into these surprisingly complex and meaningful characters has been a real joy to watch, especially with the far more serious tone this shows taken over the past couple of eps. Easily the dark horse of the season (that isn't Encouragement of Climb even though i was looking forward to that the day it was announced AND Y'ALL DIDN'T BELIEVE!!!!!!) and one that's not to be missed.

e: oh and holy shit sakura must have some secret retractable teeth or something. STEALTH NINJA TEETH

Yeah, 24's definitely the last one for this series, a shame too as I can't see this getting a sequel.

THE PEAK OF MANKIND HAS BEEN REACHED

REAL TITLE OF A REAL MANGA
I have actually read that when it was mentioned on IRC. It was actually pretty amusing.

LOL they have a poster there and everything. What does the average Japanese person think when they see something like this?
I would guess most of them are confused, not really recognising what the hell that even is while wondering what silly thing will happen next. Another good one is the Saitama prefecture forming a sister state alliance with the Principality of Zeon. The reactions to that are about what I'd expect about the station change basically. But hey gotta drive that tourism right?

Well now it sounds like she's just making stuff up.

If you look at the loli thread this is actually not that far fetched.

How else are you going to get to 400 pages?
Maybe it's a deep commentary about the state of the medium with regards to filler.

That completely goes against my theory that everyone on the other side of the internet is a loli.
These are words to live by.

Gotta get dat tourist money. Can't blame them, the shrine from Lucky Star took advantage of its popularity too.

It's not different than Hobbiton. I should save up money for a trip to New Zealand before the money going in to the upkeep for Hobbiton wanes.

And platform 9¾ at King's Cross. They spent 30million adding ¾ of a platform there and the cost of ticket prices tripled just to pay for it.

GaoGaiGar FINAL -END]

The episode itself kinda meh but goddamn man.. the ending.. dem feels can't be stopped, the ending song with everyone singing was a killer.

The series for overall is not as good as the OG because the story structure that still felt like multi cour series but only have 8 episode, I don't know what new chara use like Reene aside providing nice fanservice with dat body and reward for Soldat J for being awesome, but its still worth it for 2D mecha goodness that we won't see again and the glorious ending.

I think I watched this one already but I forgot.

I have to say, the nosebleed/drool twins don't get funnier but Sakurako and Oppai-chan are the funniest pair imaginable.

O-T-P O-T-P O-T-P.

Seriously though for a show called Yuri Yuri they are the only real yuri going on in this show. They are really great, the scenes between the two of them never disappoint.

Actually it's "yuru yuri".

The author made "yuri yuri" and believe me it's got everything in that one

Hataraki Man 10

This episode baffled me. This show has thrown a lot of cultural weirdness at me, but it was always possible to contextualize it. However, with Kaji's character, I feel like there are all these cultural assumptions about a certain kind of woman which the show expects me to know. I don't understand them, and it makes this episode rather weird.

ifOdouBiT3xTF.jpg

Like, I don't know about you guys, but most places would consider this a fair excuse for being late.

The main part of that, which distracted me the whole episode, is the completely context free revelation that
by night, Kaji serves as a nude model for a famous, possibly wealthy elderly artist who feels he needs women to inspire his art.
Why does she do it? What's in it for her? How does she feel about it? It's impossible to tell, because the show gives us no details. I feel like I'm expected to understand it without being told, but I don't.

That aside (kinda?) the larger theme of the episode is contrasting Kaji's traditional feminine virtue with Matsukata's diligent work ethic and "Hataraki Man" demeanor. All the other women we've been introduced to so far are used to show Kaji by contrasting them in the early minutes of the episode. It's an effective device, but it only serves to show us the surface of the character. The whole episode seems rather reluctant to let us deep inside the mind of the always-collected Kaji, so it was really tough for me to understand what the character's storyline was really about. So in the end, I was just vaguely uncomfortable with the whole thing. I couldn't help feel strange about how she effortlessly dazzled the male staff, especially in contrast to how Matsukata was treated last episode.

ibrLzK4jT0Wx7D.jpg

Get used to seeing this expression. I think maybe the point is her constant air of detachment isolates her emotionally from everyone else, since she never lets her emotions show.

I can sort of see how it comes together, but those missing pieces really bothered me. This is the first episode to leave things open for the next one, so I'm curious how the finale turns out.

Oh whoops my typo has led me to see that something else exists. I see.
Funny how you can discover things in the most unpexpected ways :)

I don't think making out with your own dakimakura counts as yuri. I'm going to have to check the rulebook on that one.
I think it counts.
