Well I guess it's a good thing this show is only 7 episodes long.
I'm too far gone to stop. I've watched longer things that I've hated, though this one sort of takes the cake.
The new /a/ ones are shit because it was literally the result of one thread rather than the board as a whole. And not to sound elitist but it's a fact of life that some people are better at things than others and some of the banners just look amateurish. The Blood C one (you'll know it when you see it) is bad bad BAD. Yes there is a slight bitterness here.
Don't a lot of OT threads die. Most impressions also end up here as well and usually people discuss things in this thread. The SAO thread basically only stayed alive because of Kayos and I have silly Q&A sessions.
I think there's a bit of reactionary "hate" as a result of constantly being told we have bad taste because we watch new anime rather than sticking to the stuff Toonami broadcast in the naughties. Mostly due to the fact they seem to think there was some magical session that contained all the best shows which is why every session since has been bad.
I've been given a bit of data to use on my phone so I've started reading GAF on the bus sometimes. Now I truly understand your hate for quoting and why you never edit them. It's a right pain.
I hardly ever post impressions anymore unless I have something I really want to say. I'm a simple guy. I usually liked it or didn't. If I didn't I probably dropped the show long ago and if I'm still watching it it's most likely for the same reasons I liked it from the get go. That's why I hardly post Space Brothers impressions anymore.

Summer episode, and that means fanservice!Heh, good episode though. Again though, not much to say about an episode like this in a series like this. Dat tan Miyako, though.

I think it's more of a general sentiment about how anime used to be good when upon revisiting some older stuff a lot was pretty terrible yet 'mature' in the eyes of a 12 year old.

You know, I think I'm just going to stop posting impressions for every episode I watch. Sometimes I really can't think of much to say, especially with something like Hidamari Sketch. Like episode 7, which I just watched. The whole thing was just the four of them chilling around the house waiting for a typhoon to pass. It was fun to watch, but you can't exactly say much about it, y'know? I mean, I'm not tryin' to do an in-depth analysis of Hiro's dieting issues or anything. It's just a laid-back slice-of-life show, so I'm just going to enjoy it and not worry about impressions or anything.

That's fair, I was struggling sometimes with what to say in my rewatch impressions (if you can call them that). Do update after you finish though, I'm always eager to see someone finishing a show I absolutely love.

This show was really entertaining when it was about funny stuff and sub plots, this main plot or whatever it was and all the drama are just pretty repetitive and played out at this point. Here's hoping these last two episodes are actually funny stuff and not more senseless drama and tears.

When I first started posting episode impressions, it was tough for me to think of interesting things to say about each episode. But the more I've done it, the more I've improved. For this backlog season, after the first few episodes, I feel like I've managed to find things to say about each one. The one-episode-a-week pace I tend to watch these shows at means that I can take my time with each one, which helps.

I've been pretty out of the loop for the past few months for various reasons so I tried to catch up on a couple things over the past week. Hopefully, I can get back into watching Hyouka so I can finish that second half as well.
Haganai NEXT 1-6
The first season was something like a guilty pleasure for me. I realize how bad it can be, but I got some level of strange entertainment from it. I'd say the same goes for its second cour as well. However, going through six episodes back to back was probably a bad decision in hindsight because the second cour is retreading plenty of familiar jokes, set ups, and scenes. It's mildly enjoyable in the moment, but I'm feeling fatigued now.
Wolf Children Ame and Yuki
Now this was really excellent. I'm a big fan of Hosoda's work and he really hit it out of the park with this one. It created a delicate balance between the lighthearted and somber moments while moving at a steady, engaging pace that never faltered. The visuals were gorgeous, the score was lovely, the montages were great, and the tight script formed three well defined characters over the span of 13 years with no issues to me. I imagine most people here have already seen this, but I can't recommend this enough! Hopefully, it receives great success over here in the states.

I'm sorry for all those months I was posting .PNGs. I think my current .JPGs are a tenth of the filesize.
I'm pretty sure that quoting an image shrinks the visible size down until the width is no larger than 400 pixels.
Well the thing is it just highlighted how easy it is to make a big post without thinking about it because one usually only considers the size of gifs forgetting 720p pngs can be even bigger. Really mobile GAF shouldn't be displaying images when you've disabled them.

Sometimes people drop in here to check things out, like an opening song quiz link they saw the other day and wanted to try when they were at a computer (got 46, btw!), and get kind of pissed when they see spoilers for random things that are on their list that they hadn't been spoiled on yet, like brain powerd. =/ Unmarked spoilers in a general anime thread are fucking stupid. I can maybe understand shit everyone's seen, like cowboy bebop, or weird shit that doesn't matter, like macross 7 (spoilers: some dude sings to space whales!), but dropping random spoilers for the end of series that other people may want to watch is ridiculous. We have a spoiler tag for a fucking reason. Oh, no one in this thread is posting about JoJo, so I'll just start talking about random spoilers for battle tendency and which characters die in part 3, while taking bets on how many episodes they'll last in the next season.
Or if that's a common occurrence in here, I'll just fuck off, then. =/

It shouldn't be common or at least it generally isn't. Sometimes other posters have some issues processing the notion that just because they've seen something doesn't mean everyone hasn't seen it already.

The person on MAL who made those English-title replacement scripts fixed the issues with the Dropbox one, and also made a new script that not only returns the titles to English, but also even re-alphabetizes them right on the list page (of course, if you have a huge number of titles, it might take a short time to load on the first page visit). Combine with with your own personalized list of what you want each title to be, and you'll never be confused on your own list page ever again.

This show i kind of crazy and trying a little too hard at times but its pretty fun. There was some wonderfully fucked up shit that has happened to keep it interesting. Will keep watching.

So sad but so so cute at the same time. I love her hair. Im not i love with how they draw noses but the rest of the animation is pretty good. I can see it hitting a pretty good stride, using the extra element her esp adds.
Blast Tempest 1-5
The lore is pretty neat. Magical talismans turning everyone into badasses. I like the designs. will see where it goes.
Magi 1-21
This show is super fun with a great cast of characters and an ever sprawling adventure landscape. I cant wait for it to get into the meat of taking down the kou empire.
Its kind of fun to be back into anime a bit. Im usually watching live action dramas, i needed a little lite fun i can kind of pay attention too.

Man, Max Heart is so cash-strapped that it can't even properly animate its own midseason confrontation. Even when the fight animation was good or had higher-quality keyframes, there's probably not a good cut in the entire episode that lasts more than three seconds. If this fight wasn't DBZ enough with its lightspeed punches and beam spam,.Nagisa and Honoka's new powerup is basically a Genki Dama-charged Marble Screw
Plot and powerup episodes are almost universally terrible, though, so simply by virtue of that the running vindication total stands as follows:
Max Heart gets better: 0
Max Heart stays shit: 1

Yeah you can get a appreciation for what mobile users deal with in a picture intensive thread such as this one. Totally bogs down everything. I have a Galaxy S2 which is quite a fast phone for internet, but it still gets hung up from time to time.
Thats probably a good idea. Sometimes shows just don't lend themselves well to impressions. Its more of something you enjoy on your own and then describe later as a whole. This is oftentimes why I will just say "watch that its adorable" or "this show is really fun" Because otherwise, what else is there to say?
