Can they even do Another without wrapping up FMP? I mean, the first thing everyone will ask is "What happened to Sousuke and Kaname?" and if they've only seen the anime, they'll add, "And Leonard?" And explaining what went down between the three of them can't be handwaved.

Especially since, as of Volume 17 of Sigma, there's a LOT that must be changed by the time Another rolls around.

Its separate enough that they can ignore FMP itself in any hypothetical adaptation. Just have Mithril mentions and stuff. (I haven't read very far into it but it doesn't seem like that would be a problem)

This is like that Gunparade March (great show btw) sequel where it had almost nothing to do with the original.

I dunno, I mean, in Sigma
Mithril is disbanded by Tessa after most of it is completely destroyed in a single day by Leonard.
I guess if they got it up and running again between series it could work. People'd still be left wondering where Sousuke, Kaname, and Leonard went. TSR ends on something of a cliff-hanger.

All this FMP talk makes me want to rewatch the show. It's only been a few months but I love it so much.

I haven't watched the show in a long time, but is there actually that much stock footage? I can only think of some bridge shots and the EVAs getting launched off their cages. I remember Evangelion being more about the still shots and the camera pans.

I didn't mean reused footage, sorry, just them going over stuff that already happened again and again. Hell, I think even in the clipshow half of episode 14 they reanimate some stuff. The show gets ridiculously introspective by the end, though, and they'll reuse shots in slightly different ways.

I really dug this one.

It had everything I like about Evangelion in one package, namely great mecha action and psychological disparity.
Shinji's mind sinking away as his life support fades was well done. His inner dialogue was well written and prompt. I sort of hope this doesn't impede on the "manly bravado" he exhibited at the beginning. It was pretty funny.

Also glad to see they haven't run out of ideas for cool angels yet.
The whole reversing it's AT field to create a negative space to trap Eva's was pretty cool, if a little obtuse. More obtuse was the way it was defeated— which... who knows? Shinji just popped out of it's "shadow".
That sort of thing isn't a hangup for me though. So long as it's well done and captivating, I'm on board.

Really? I mean, not in the physical sense, but
the EVA activating and going berserk for the sake of Shinji is fairly obvious if you look at the last scene inside the angel again
.

I seriously doubt KyoAni will go back to Key. They can produce their own Keyshit, retain all the rights and still have it sell well. There's no incentive for them to tie themselves to Key.

I dunno. Chuunibyou sold well, but not nearly as well as Clannad or Kanon. Plus, the Key brand name and having another company to help sponsor a work might be pretty attractive. That being said, I agree for the most part. I don't think KyoAni will animate a Key work anytime soon, and especially not Rewrite (the visual novel after Little Busters). I wonder how much of an influence Pony Canyon has on that decision though.

Kyoani won't go back to KEY because they'll start using the Pony Canyon/TBS partnership to promote their original works and their own LNs. Kadokawa will still have them do Kadokawa shows.

Not like I want more KEY out of them or anything, I agree with firehawk in that they should go original all the way.

Cameos of cameos of literally everyone that probably appeared in the last 23 episodes and then some. Had some of the randomness that we all expect from this show and of course a dance number to close off the show.

Totally expected they did a reset at the end of the episode. Can't have the girls be useful more than one episode per season!

And it wasn't very good to boot! This was the first one to feel like nothing of worth really happened.
We did learn that there's apparently more than one Nerv location. Or maybe I did, because I didn't know that. We subsequently found out that the 2nd Nerv location up and just disappeared. No idea why that would have happened at all. And what's this about the Dead Sea Scroll's "predictions"? We know when these angels are coming, don't we Ikari Senior..? Someone's being a real ass hat behind the scenes with all their withholding of information. I'm glad Ritsuko is looking kind of spent on the whole secret part. She looks sort of like she's thinking "This is getting kind of stupid." Good for her.

So Toji is the Fourth Child? Ehh... Okay. Actually, something tells me that wont last. Haha. Maybe it's just the lack of Toji merchandise available... Or maybe I read it in the dead sea scrolls.
