smug duck-esque

even the hot springs ep was classy. How common sense the mystery resolution was revealed to be was really nice too.

I swear I hear people say this at the start of every single season. Usually before most shows have even started! It's pretty funny because by the end of the season, everyone is still here, and most people are watching multiple shows, and then there are debates about which the best show of the season is, and which are anime of the year candidates. It's pretty funny. :p
I really cannot understand these people, I mean this season we have:
-Jojo Stardust Crusaders
-Mushishi S2
-Mekaku City Actors
-M3
-Black Bullet
-Captain Earth
-Ping Pong the Animation
-Sidonia no Kishi
-Soul Eater Not!
-Hitsugi no Chaika

There hasn't been a season this good since Fall 2011!

So judging from people's impressions, Captain Earth is sounding pretty hype, while Mahouka is sounding pretty shite. Well, I'll wait those shows out a little bit. Gotta get through some Gundams.

I will try to get on it ASAP. Don't get discouraged if I start other anime. I spread myself thin like that.

No worries, take your time. It's just been a while since we've seen full Madoka and TTGL impressions here.

I am amazed at how many people don't appear to understand the pricing model behind anime, especially when Japanese imports come around. Anything over $30 for a complete season is price gouging to the uninformed. At least there are a few Gaffers explaining Aniplex's pricing reasons.

Are they making fun of people with anime avatars yet?

Jojo S2
This would be so much better if Holly (why doesn't her name begin with a J?) was the main character.
But seriously, I can't handle the shounen set up. People say that Gintama has a horrible opening, but imagine if they just farted out the entire White Yaksha stuff right at the beginning? Anyway, my due diligence is done. :p

Captain Earth
Speaking of which, I don't think I can get into another one of these. Maybe a year of MJP and Buddy Complex and VVV and E7:AO and probably some other show I've forgotten has basically ruined the "Earth is in danger, but the chosen one will save us" premise for me entirely.

The same way that the Vampire pseudo-rape shoujo from last year broke my shoujo streak, I think my boy shounen mecha streak is also done for now.

All these new shows and nothing's really grabbed me. Mushishi wins by simply not being offensive or too anime.

NISEKOI - 13

Last week i made a prediction , i was half joking and cnet laughed a few posts later .

BUT i DIDN'T KNOW i was right ... i really didn't!!!
Wow nisekoi .

So ...
The plot reveal another girl and she had the same hair as the girl that was hidden in the opening so far.
Said girl is raku fiance

Wooow what the heck

Meanwhile onodera has technical problems and chitose is scoring so many points it's scary

So , as negima explained to me years ago :

love_triangle.png

So nisekoi has
- A nise koi aka a love that started with a lie and grow over time.
- a Nise koi aka a love that was there since a long time but both lied and can't speak of their feelings
- a Nise koi aka a love that even the girl in love lies because it's unnaceptable ( against reason so she is lying to her own feeligns )
and
the new ( upcoming ) girl

Man WHAT A MESS,
this makes 3 keys now ? if there is a fourth key
i'm gonna slap someone.

Maybe it wouldn't seem like White Yaksha right off the bat if you watched season 1?

I'm not going to count all the chickens before they hatch either. Jojo was great, Captain Earth was great, and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy Ping Pong and Sidonia. Mushishi is Mushishi, so it's a known quality. The rest... I dunno. I hope Black Bullet is good because I like Kinema Citrus. I hope Chaika and Soul Eater Not are good because I like BONES. But that's all I'm willing to do for those shows right now... hope. :)

I disagree.

First the incubators
aren't destroyed , she could easily do that when she had power to change things , she just in a position to manage them. She is a big obstacle in their way for doing nonsense because as it stand they are still collecting energy , just not the big chunk of energy when a magical girl turn into a witch. The point wasn't to destroy them , just to keep them from doing more damage than necessary.

The point that madoka would become her ennemyis just a natural reaction considering how opposite they are now i don't think it's implied in any way that they must become ennemies, just that now they will since they are both gods doing opposite things.

Finally , as it stand i'm opposed to more stuff from this franchise. i think that the story they needed to tell is done , no need to add anything.

(Madoka Movie 3)

The ending seemed like
a way for them to create a sequel, honestly. That particular Incubator is shown as being trapped in there (being cursed) but nothing is really said of the other Incubators (who obviously control a large amount of power). Madoka is a small piece that was broken off the Law of the Cycle, which is also still out there, and Madoka is remembering the truth anyway. It doesn't seem like it would take very long for Madoka to figure it out, even if the Incubators are no longer a threat. Kyubei says that it is too dangerous to use humans when they are capable of such illogical acts, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't fight to prevent those humans from doing any damage to the universe. If Homura had truly saved all the magical girls from the Incubators, there'd be no reason for The Law of the Cycle to still be out there saving them.

I guess it is all kind of vague, but it seems like too much of a cash cow to stop here. They've definitely left themselves avenues to explore in a sequel.

Someone needs to photoshop keys into that picture of the guy that can't hold all the lemons, and Raku's head on that body.

11 PM on Saturdays is an awkward time, and I'll always end up feeling like I'm late. But there used to be a time when simulcasts were delayed for over a week, so it could be worse. I like the show. While the tone is definitely very Sakurasou, in terms of setup, it reminds me of the lewder parts of the former mixed with Mahoraba. Mayumi shows that Rina Satou can play the role of a lonely heart just as well as Chiwa Saito, and Shiro feels like a variation on Ataru from D-Frag, so I don't have any major problems with him. I like the OP and ED, and the various visual effects and the slightly different color palette the show uses - much like Mikakunin had that style to it - make for something that can take the genre its in and use it to maximum effect. I trust the author of Love Lab on this one, even if it won't give me nearly as many yuri hints.

Madoka Rebellion (Movie 3) is
a sequel hook, the guys at SHAFT pretty much all but said iirc that they wanted to leave it open ended for a continuation. Gen originally wanted to end it by having Madoka take Homura up with her and Sayaka to Valhalla for a happy end but Shinbou pressured him to leave the story open ended.

Who was the last one who tried that challenge? I remember a season or two back, some crazy dudes would actually try to watch EVERY show in the season. The trend seems to have stopped somewhat at least. Lol.

It's called the firehawk challenge for a reason.

I could see maybe trying like every CR show or something in a season if you didn't have any games to play or non-anime shows to watch in those 4 months, but that's crazy.

Those reasons make sense to Aniplex, but not to consumers. It's a lot like DRM in that respect.

No homura
didn't save the magical girls from the incubators. As being said in the tv serie , removing the incubators is not an option. That's why madoka wish was what it was and that's why homura didn't remove them either , homura is more in a situation of control . Her goal is to keep them in check so that they don't cross the line since they are seeking more and more ways to get energy because the incubator logic is that this energy is needed and thus emotions ( human emotions in particular ) are not a factor.Several times during the Tv serie and the movie , kyubei questionned everyone choices because him ( and the incubators ) are only thinking of the most logical choice , not matter the cost , no matter the experiment needed ..this is that part that the homura is preventing to act.

kyubei
said that it was dangerous to use human that use emotions over logic ( that much is certainly true ) but the incubators point of view is that they can control everything and if they can't they will observe untill they can. On that aspect it's possible that homura will fail in the future ( since the incubators are patient and will wait for their chance ) and that might be one way to tell more on this franchise.
Also one thing for sure is that madoka will remember the truth at some point.... but from where i see it , since there is no threat , she has no reason to remember now

Except that Gen accepted Shinbo's proposal as a 'breakthrough'. Forced pressure is nonexistant here, wish people would stop saying that.

I hope people will temper their expectations for Sidonia, a little bit.

It's an interesting series, but it doesn't strive to be more than that (I feel). It's surprisingly much more mainstream and approachable than "Blame!".

I really don't see the hype for Captain Earth I mean the visuals look nice and the protagonist is alright, but like the villains for some reason don't fit well and their designs aren't that great. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into valvrave later on because I would laugh my ass off.

But he's already weakening! He says that his shoujo streak was broken, and now his shounen streak is broken! Soon he'll be utterly defeated and he'll be watching nothing but Mushishi and
Agents of SHIELD.

And still no Blue Exorcist movie.

and NCIS New Orleans

Still hoping for a proper adaption of Blame! one day.
