I'm excited for next Saturday. It'll be the first time in three years that two SHAFT series have been airing in the same season (previously Spring 2011 with Denpa Onna and Maria Holic Alive), and not just that but they'll be airing back-to-back on the same channel. One hour of pure concentrated SHAFTness.

I really don't see the hype for Captain Earth I mean the visuals look nice and the protagonist is alright, but like the villains for some reason don't fit well and their designs aren't that great. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into valvrave later on because I would laugh my ass off.

There's not really any hype. People just thought the first episode was good. Myself included.

1. Mecha are 2D instead of that abominable 3D shit that contaminates the genre now.

2. Those probably aren't even the villains. The main bad guys rarely show up in the first episode of a show.

3. Glorious 2D Mecha.

You hope it doesn't turn into one of the best shows of last year?

At the rate the anime is going I'd say a lot of people will ragequit Mahouka at around the 3rd episode.

For those who know
I'm talking about the tuning scene

Did you ever watch Harry Potter and think "you know what would make this better? If it was an anime, mixed with all the best elements of Sword Art Online like a Gary Stu protagonist and nonsensical prejudice. Also, turn the incest dial up to 11"? If not, congratulations, you are a healthy human being.

In conclusion, anime should be banned.

It's called the firehawk challenge for a reason.
Time for you to pick up the slack! lol

But he's already weakening! He says that his shoujo streak was broken, and now his shounen streak is broken! Soon he'll be utterly defeated and he'll be watching nothing but Mushishi and
Agents of SHIELD.
Monogatari will save anime!
(White TV is another story I suppose. Geimu is terrible but I still watch it. lol)

The premise of the other show sounds as bad as Nisekoi though. :(

Those reasons make sense to Aniplex, but not to consumers. It's a lot like DRM in that respect.

It makes a bit more sense once a person realizes the production costs to produce an anime series, but I understand everyone has their opinions on such topics and will stand by their beliefs. After importing Blu-rays now myself, the price doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it may. Premium products come with premium prices!

I like this explanation

hum i watched it all when i was still fresh in anime an open minded about this stuff.

That was years ago ...
Now i think i couldn't watch it

It was supposed to be a sort of ironic hatewatch sort of thing, but... jesus, haha.

If you think harem anime could not get worse, it's okay--it's already been done over a decade ago. :lol

Well, this is the mindset of the otaku, even if "premium products" are a dubious distinction.

Ultimately though, when you're able to sell to a wide audience at a lower price you're on better footing than depending on a fickle fringe market at high prices.

From the New World, Tatami Galaxy and Haibane Renmei done. Round 1 of the Clannad Challenge anime complete. (survivor and Branduil)

50ish episodes to get two people to watch Clannad + After Story all the way through. Not bad. Round 2 is G Gundam with Corvo.

The things I do...

I still don't understand anything about Kagerou Project except that it started with Vocaloid songs, is now a massive multimedia franchise, and has something to do with city kids and special eye powers or something.

Should be interesting to dive into with the anime, I suppose.

I swear I hear people say this at the start of every single season. Usually before most shows have even started! It's pretty funny because by the end of the season, everyone is still here, and most people are watching multiple shows, and then there are debates about which the best show of the season is, and which are anime of the year candidates. It's pretty funny. :p

Matsutaro the Biggest Dickbag in Japan - Episode 1

This show sure is "special". I thought it was a sumo show, but it turned out to be a really strange and in-depth look at what spending a day with the biggest dickbag in all of Japan would be like. Matsutaro is the king of assholes, the lord of dickbags, the emperor of shitheels, etc. Not only is he impossible to relate to, like, or even sympathize with, but by the end of the episode I wished the worst suffering possible to befall him. I don't know how he goes on to become a sumo wrestler like the title of the show suggests, but I hope it involves having his balls ripped off.

Also, it's amazing how nice the art and some of the animation is, considering this is a Toei show replacing Saint Seiya Omega on its time slot. There's some really nice production with a very retro look, but sadly for everyone in the show, all that was just used to showcase in detail what a sack of rotten shit the main character is! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

He's an insufferable meatheaded douche, but I'm kind of under the assumption that this is being intentionally played up so that we can watch how he matures as a person through sumo. He is universally loathed by everyone around him up to and including his own family and the episode ends with him actually facing negative consequences for his spree of stupid behavior, both of which I think speak to the fact that we're not supposed to identify with him or approve of him and that the show is actively passing judgment on him. Hopefully I'm wrong and this isn't just an idiot comedy for terrible people, but I feel like the foundations for a good old tale of redemption and shounen ganbaru spirit are currently being laid so I'm not too worried about Matsutarou being such a fuckwit after a single episode.

It's a cool coming of age story, take it from June as it'll be entertaining.

I see cnet has made his way into another anime.

Anyway, this was incredibly lewd, but surprisingly fun. Actually had some laugh-out-loud moments. Plus, it's very well drawn, and landlady-sama is a fun character.

Oh, and this happened:

So, the show has potential as a goofball comedy. Will keep an eye on it.

No homura
didn't save the magical girls from the incubators. As being said in the tv serie , removing the incubators is not an option. That's why madoka wish was what it was and that's why homura didn't remove them either , homura is more in a situation of control . Her goal is to keep them in check so that they don't cross the line since they are seeking more and more ways to get energy because the incubator logic is that this energy is needed and thus emotions ( human emotions in particular ) are not a factor.Several times during the Tv serie and the movie , kyubei questionned everyone choices because him ( and the incubators ) are only thinking of the most logical choice , not matter the cost , no matter the experiment needed ..this is that part that the homura is preventing to act.

kyubei
said that it was dangerous to use human that use emotions over logic ( that much is certainly true ) but the incubators point of view is that they can control everything and if they can't they will observe untill they can. On that aspect it's possible that homura will fail in the future ( since the incubators are patient and will wait for their chance ) and that might be one way to tell more on this franchise.
Also one thing for sure is that madoka will remember the truth at some point.... but from where i see it , since there is no threat , she has no reason to remember now

The reason for her to
remember is money. They want to make more of it.

It seems like they could replace
the Incubators with another system to combat Entropy. They're going to have to come up with some justification for a sequel, in any case.

Yeah, I'll watch it. I just think Nisekoi is the first Shaft show I've been disappointed in because of the source material. I never did watch loli vampire though.

movie year, too busy etc
Have you seen Sword Art Online?

Yeah I'm not completely writing the show off, unlike Shard, but I feel that watching such an episode requires a strong outpouring of critique on what a total dickbag Matsutaro is. Clearly we're not meant to like him at this point, but the escalation of his douchery is really something to behold. I can't say I've seen something like this in quite a while, where you're faced with a guy so selfish, unmotivated, bullheaded, and irresponsible. And you get all of his worst qualities hammered at you with one set piece after another. It's really amazing.

I think the intentions of the narrative are clear, but after the extremes of the introductory episode, I'm not at all prepared to just laugh his flaws off and see him get easy redemption. It's going to take some hard doses of reality in his face to convince me that such a person can really change for the better.

Except that Gen accepted Shinbo's proposal as a 'breakthrough'. Forced pressure is nonexistant here, wish people would stop saying that.

I wish people would stop using one blurb about the pre-production process to say that
Shinbo changed the ending

Hint: At that point in the process there is no ending! That's why they call it pre-production, because that's when they figure all that shit out before making the thing!

This is kind of boring, but I'm intrigued on where they're going with the whole student discrimination thing. Action could be good too if the OP is any indication.

Every single season, I tell myself to cut down on the shows I stick with, and every season I still end up finishing stuff that is just average :(

It tickled my Hana Yori Dango fancy there for a quick second.

Except, like you said, that was a really boring episode.

Gundam Build Fighters - 20

Question...
Why is the idol begging Felini to stop fighting as though his life was in danger? Did the writers lose sight of the plot or is it simply the snake swallowing its own tail as the characters got so caught up in the moment that they forgot these are all proxy battles.

Some good shots in this one but I never really liked the ep. It's not just the ton of recycled animation that irks me but that it's this vapid sort of dramatic highpoint that's entirely unearned as the beld/fahn stuff is never fully established in a satisfactory manner.

If anything, I'm glad my opinion of it hasn't changed as it meant I recognized the flaws prsent even when I was a little less judgmental back in the day.

For a lack of better term, the P3 collector's edition BD that everyone is now debating on is premium content to me in the sense that there is a good set of extras included. I may not be interested in the Persona franchise, but I would be willing to pay the SRP over a barebones release consumers typically are offered for most U.S. releases.

It's pretty simple.

The show is ultimately about the joy of building model kits and connecting with them on a personal level. Those who are only in it to win regardless of the methods and with no love for the craft behind the hobby are depicted as unsporting assholes. Fellini is one of the good guys, and his connection to his Fenice is pretty personal, as shown in the flashback where he has been repairing the same base kit all these years as he improved as a fighter. To willfully destroy his own kit completely just to force a draw on an opponent who has beaten him in a contest of fighting skill is petty and unbecoming of the sort of man he is.

I understand your point but there's one catch though...
The idol girl went into pleading mode before he made his announcement to self-destruct. It's the small detail that the events are seemingly reversed in this way that makes your otherwise well-stated explanation more difficult to accept.

I'm proud to annonce that i think i've seen quite a bit of stuff i regret now

There was this anime with a guy that had 6 moms all living within his house + the love interest in the school he was in ... it was called happy lesson. for some reason i watched it all ... now i certainly cannot do that

I was such a naive guy back then.

That's why i'm laughing inside when i see some reaction to the stuff released these days. I cannot do hatewatch...if an anime annoy me to the point that i hate it , i just drop it . IMo people who hatewatch ( even as a joke ) have too much free time. There are just so many legit good show out there to try.
Hatewatch is and will always be a foreign concept to me.

Well if they want to do a sequel , they can ..there are some valid roads to take in order to do that they didn't need to leave things open if more was planned. WIth the nature of homura original powers and madoka status , you could already do anything you wanted because the rules are so open. Movie 3 is the best example of this fact.
