Hey guys,

Did a search but didn't find anything relating to this, well here we go. The new content will be released on the 18th of this month with new tracks, racers, billboards, skins, etc.

On the 18th of this month Sony will start releasing downloadable content for Wipeout Pure. This will include new racetracks, new ships, new front-end menu skins, extra music, in-game billboards, and more. These files will be downloadable to a memory stick, then will integrate into the menu of Wipeout Pure.

Screw Europe! I've waited long enough to get some content and I doubt a lot of people were going to wait to September for the new content..

Well, I've been holding off this one until now, but I don't I can resist when downloadable advertising is offered.

i dont think it's what you think it is

GameSpy: Are there more downloads planned for the future? What sort of stuff could we expect to see further down the line?

Nino: Yes, there is other downloadable content planned for the future for Wipeout. Predominantly, it will be extra in-game features. In the future, I could see us creating an in-game art gallery where famous artists could design in-game billboards, level furniture or ship designs which would only be available as collectable limited edition levels for certain time periods.

it sounds like it's just gonna be artwork designed for the game, but displayed on billboards

YES!

..erm how big is the update? and lets say you don't have enough room - can you just get 1 ship or 1 track and skip the billboards?

edit:

GameSpy: How much precious space will these features likely take up on the PSP's mem card?

Nino: The biggest items will take up to 3 Megs, but as the content will be available in packs to download users can choose which ones to keep or discard. You have to remember that this will expand the game so the space is taken with extra useful game content and can always be backed up.

nice!

GameSpy: What do you think about these homebrew hacks that lets gamers browse the web via their PSPs and Wipeout Pure?

Nino: The browser in Wipeout Pure is one of the ways of getting extra content for the game onto the Memory Stick and has no other function. It was not intended to be used as a browser, so it is not optimized for that use.

ha!
