With PS5 essentially becoming a Hybrid console/handheld now thanks to Portal what Handheld orientated games would you like to see on the platform?

A lot of them have actually found their way to the PS5/Portal already but I'm sure some of your favorites haven't or you would like a updated version or new entry.

HANDHELD

It's not though. The PS5 is a pure home console, and the Portal is just a portable screen for the PS5. It's not a portable or even hybrid console.

This is ridiculous.
Hybrid implies that the device has different ways to play with the same device.
The Portal is literally a secondary device to acces that functionality, that's exactly the opposite of hybrid

PS5 is so amazing when I plug it into a wall outlet it's basically a hybrid house, yes your premise is that stupid.

Why handheld oriented games when it plays all games without concessions (apart from a 1080p screen)?

It's always the dumb ones who convince themselves they're the smartest one in the room. And they want you to know it.

Don't you have to buy Portal separately? The whole point of "hybrid" is one system can function both as handheld and console without needing to buy two separate systems.

None of that matters to the people making the games it will be playable on console or a handheld.

From what can understand Portal is not actually running the game it just streaming from PS5, am I right?

That's no different than remote play on PSVita.

No one said the game was actually running on the Portal.
My point is this not actually "hybrid", portal just streams games from PS5 like remote play on PSvita.

Switch is considered "hybrid" because it is both console and handheld in one package without needing to buy separate system.

No one truly considers the Portal a hybrid

Remote Play has been around a very long time and thats all the Portal is a glorified dedicated Remote Play device

I will only accept the Portal being great when PlayStation allows the user to stream their digital library

Until then whatever

Also one of big advantage of actual hybrid is you can play games even on blackout.

While Portal can't function without internet.

The polarized narrative around Portal is bizarre. On one end you've got a guy saying a $15 clip for your controller and phone is the same or better than Portal and on the other, it is part of a hybrid system worthy of its own "handheld oriented games".

You and me here in reality: it's just a dedicated remote play device.

There is a reason I used the word essentially

When a dev make a switch game they don't know if you're playing it as a handheld game or a console game , now it's the same when a dev make a PS5 game even though the chances are lower that it's being played on a handheld. But Sony know that people are playing their games on Portal so it raises the chances of PSP & PS-Vita games being playable on PS5 or remastered.

How big of an blackout? Because if it's just your block & the Internet on your phone is still working you can actually play games on Portal ( with a subscription)

See what I'm getting here, this not hybrid….not only I have to buy separate system but also can't function without internet.

Like I said in my original post, the whole point of "hybrid" is ONE system can be both console and handheld.

If I have to buy separate system that just defeats entire purpose of "hybrid".

I'd like to be able to watch YouTube, or a movie in bed.

Sony is so weird. Their tech is baller as F to me but then they hamstring it. PSVR2 is completely useless outside of VR games and the Portal is the same with flat games. Doesn't make sense why they don't have some kind of VR UI or app/movie capability with the Portal.

I've always felt the same way about Switch. Thing could double as an entertainment device with the plethora of services out there, but Nintendo just won't allow it for some reason.
