$250-$300 million.

It was at least 300 mil. No way it wasn't.

You dont' even have to include marketing. That movie cost more than $300 mil just to shoot and post-produce.

Fant4stic will have better legs than BvS. BvS would have to gross over $360M domestic to match it.

WB probably should've coughed up the cash themselves just to claim a #1 3rd weekend.

Yeah, true. "Company employees get free tickets, on us!" *Buys $200K worth of tickets.

Yeah, I really find it hard to believe that BvS only cost $25M more than Man of Steel. That'd be some great cost-reduction on WB's part.

Then the budget for POTC: At World's End must have been insane since they reported $300m for that

Verbinski went to the real davey jones locker for that movie.

it's excessive, long and boring but god damn were the setpieces crazy. it's one of the weirdest big budget movies ive seen

The $410M for On Stranger Tides includes the portion the UK rebated them for, and all of the post-production costs, neither of which are counted in production budgets. However, the $250M Disney claimed the film cost was still a lie.

Got an even better one for ya.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

$410.6 million

and this one makes no sense. at this point you think johnny depp is using a quarter of that for booze and private islands.

with verbinski's movies you saw every dollar on screen. his shit looks as expensive as it costs.

stranger tides i couldn't finish, and it looked whatever. prolly the on location shooting costed so much and the ships.

Stranger Tides took fucking forever because Depp got hurt or went into rehab and some shit, cost them a shitload

It's a miracle it did well enough to even justify a sequel, that shit should be DoA

Isn't it beautiful? It's almost tragic. When a movie flops, it gives off a final lingering aroma. Legs is but a farewell gift from the darkness to those on their way to the bottom of top 20. I've been waiting, Synder, for a long time. Waiting for your birth, your growth, and the finality of your career.

People still thinking it's gonna open to less than $100mil opening weekend?

The buzz around the movie as it is seems to point towards crossing that threshold as more than a remote possiblity.

It's one of the best looking CGI movies I've ever seen and it's damn fun. A bit dark for the small children, but all 10+ year-olds should see it. It's awesome.

Theyre actually doing a midnight showing for Jungle Book near me (UK)

Calling $100M+ OW for a film that isn't a direct sequel of something that was big is always a shot in the dark, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Jungle Book go that direction. The WOM and reviews are working in its favour.

That said, if we get a $70M opening, that's still a great start. I am sure Jungle Book will have good legs.

Zootopia finally had its first sub-$1M day yesterday after 39 days in release.

The Boss - $1.63M
Zootopia - $782k

The BvS number will likely be up within the next hour or so.

Nooooooooooo ;_;
Seriously, though. Very impressive.

If the reception from audiences is anywhere near what it's like for crtitics so far, and the GAF impressions so far suggest it will be, then a $90+M opening would basically guarantee a $300M finish. Which would bring the number of pre-summer releases to hit that threshold to a truly ridiculous number: four! I believe the previous record was one, and only 2015 has had more than four 300+ films in the entire year.

Yeah, not seeing $100m opening for Jungle Book. Thinking $70-80m.

2012 had 5 films over $300M.

2016 has a pretty good chance breaking 2015's 6 over $300M. We'll have 3 as of this week and Civil War, Finding Dory, and Rogue One are pretty close to locked I think.

$1.47M for BvS?

Ya. Down about the same as last week, and 54% Week over week.

Unless yesterday had another big sports game, expect Tuesday's bump to be smaller this time around.

Batman v Superman will hit $300M on Wednesday. Zootopia will hit the same mark on Friday.

The gap between BvS and Deadpool after the first weekend = $33.6 million
The gap between BvS and Deadpool after the second weekend = $23.5 million
The gap between BvS and Deadpool after the third weekend = $11.4 million

The gap between BVS and Deadpool as of Monday (third weekend + 1 day) = $10.5 million

Maybe... by this weekend? Lol.

BvS is looking at around $302M going into the weekend. It would need to drop 60% this weekend for Deadpool to catch up by Sunday. Best case scenario (for BvS) is going to be a week and a half from now.

BvS continues to lose ground in the fight against Spider-Man 3 as well. BvS' lead is down to a little over $13M now. Batman v Superman had a $27M lead over SM3 after 7 days.
