I heard the fourth is fun too
I dont' remember if I've seen it though or not
Who is the guy in the beard
Why isn't it James Cameron
...is that James Cameron?
is that what he looks like now? Damn
Dead ;.;
I wonder if that TV movie announcement was sort of a "please by Allegiant on BluRay. The ending will be out eventually. We swear!" thing.
For real.
Lionsgate fucked up the franchise big time, sad
all these places could beat Marvel at their on game
Gi Joe vs Transformers
Resident Evil vs Underworld
They would have to invent a new form of currency to count the wealth
Everyone stay woke to get that first post poop emoji in tomorrow's thread
The American movie beat the French movie in America and the French movie beat the American movie in France. Luc Besson is not a well-known name in America so the Christopher Nolan name alone would have put more asses in seats, unless Valerian starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Valerian and ScarJo as Laureline.

Dunkirk is an American film?
For real.

Or could it have been that the French movie was bad and had poor leads and marketing?
It's definitely not bad. I've said it before, but I think there's a bit of a cultural gap here. You say "poor leads," but what leads, in such an oddball film, could have countered Christopher Nolan? Short of getting A-listers, no, there was no beating Dunkirk. Valerian is very European in style and too wacky to resonate with American audiences as much as a WWII film made by one of the most popular directors of his generation.
What? Valerian could've been the only movie released last weekend and it still would've bombed. And maybe apes wouldn't have :/
It's not. It's just Vinny fanfic.Wait, Allegiant is a real movie series?
I thought it was an elaborate in-joke all this time.
I'm assuming you never read the books, cuz they were always fighting an uphill battle there. Hell, it's good they're not even bothering with the end, that last book was horrible. It was an insult to that genre, which is really saying something.
Edit: Actually, you would probably be the best person to ask, since you're the only one here who watched that last one. Did they ever get to the part where they put her in a jet and she looks down at the small buildings and stuff and has a random monologue about how that proves the existence of God?
Entire title should be emoji
Atomic Blonde was a top notch spy film. I think folks might be disappointed because it was marketing as a John Wick-like, which it only is in small bits.
I like the 2nd Divergent movie, almost as good as Valerian.

It will be.
It still won't make sense
edit: Or would the Xaos thing to do be a thread title with no emoji, just words FOR emoji between : :
(which still makes no real sense)
i can't tell if that's faint praise for valerian, divergent, or both

If anyone here is from Wisconsin, you guys have a nice state, but should clean up all your dead deer. Decided to stop in the St Paul side of the twin cities.
Dunkirk taking first place this weekend is not that surprising. If that $12.2M holds, Dunkirk should make around $29M for the weekend.
Looks like the Emoji Movie will be pretty close behind with around $27M. That exceeds the earlier tracking, so I suppose that is a positive for Sony.
I'm curious to see how Atomic Blonde managed on Saturday. Girls Trip has a pretty good shot at beating it for 3rd place this weekend.
neither?
Detergent is dead
Bury it
Yeah baby.Atomic Blonde was a top notch spy film. I think folks might be disappointed because it was marketed as a John Wick-like, which it only is in small bits.
September. Is Spider-Man out in China yet? Isn't that market always a big pieces of the pie?
Obviously Luc Besson didn't think this when getting the funding and making the film.

There are better things to watch where Sir Patrick Stewart plays a piece of shit.Close between Dunkirk and Emoji. There's a morbid desire in me to see it actually win out just because Nolan fans are some of the most insufferable people and I want them to see their God King dethroned by a movie where Patrick Stewart plays a literal walking piece of shit. But nah, my senses come back to me because I'm sure Dunkirk is a great film and doesn't deserve to be dethroned by a movie where Patrick Stewart plays a literal walking piece of shit.
