Was hoping Moneyball would take the weekend Favorite movie of the year so far.

No way it was beating one of the most beloved films of all time.

Disney has already converted Beauty and the Beast to 3D. Apparently the results were downright bad, unlike The Lion King's, so they played it just once in a single theater in Los Angeles, and that was it. Not sure we'll ever hear about it again.

hopefully they keep it in release long enough to reclaim its place as the highest grossing animation film. so much better than this pixar/dreamworks filth.

Don't know if I'd call it the best of the year (in fact, I know I wouldn't :lol) but it was pretty good. You'll appreciate some of the FNL vibes.

Very Very unlikely. 50 million is a lot of ground to cover. My guess is it makes it up half the difference between where it is now and Shrek 2. Plus I don't think Disney will extend the release by more than one or two weeks.

50 million is guaranteed if it doens't leave theaters, which is what I said. Guaranteed. 26% drop on second weekend, after a massive 30 million opening? Guaranteed. IF Disney doesn't pull it.

As much money as it's making in theaters, it will almost certainly make a ton more on DVD/Blu-ray.

It's going to be absolutely massive when it comes out on the 4th. Disney is going to pull in the dough big time.

Lion King's been rocking it at our theater. We had special Simba glasses for the kids that ran out on the first night, and 5 dollar off coupons for the blu-ray that were gone after the first weekend.
