Everything I have seen makes it look like an absolute nightmare of drunk assholes fucking in the street/beach/locals gardens. Lots of British townie types in a sauna of std's, shouting and Lynx deodorant.

I;ve been there 3 years in a row. That Paris Hilton party sounds stupid as fuck, although Amnesia is one of the best clubs in the world. If you're into clubs you must go to Space, Pacha, Privilege, DC 10 and Bora-Bora beach during the day. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrLgHaGLJW4)
The best place to stay if you guys are party animals is Playa Den Bosa and if you want something more relaxed there's San Antonio - here you can find the famous Cafe del Mar which is a wonderful experience and a must-do if you go to Ibiza.
Don't buy tickets in advance as they're pretty expensive, you can always find them cheaper on the street right before the event. You should always negociate the price also. Look for events with oldschool DJs like Sasha, Digweed or Carl Cox. Those guys are the Muhamad Ali of electronic music and always have the best parties.
Make sure to visit the old town of Ibiza, one of the most impressive fortresses I've seen in my life. The restaurants that open in the evening there have the best food with fresh fish from the sea.
Be EXTREMELY careful with drugs if you're into cocaine and stuff, there are a lot of undercover police officers which will fuck up your holiday in a second. I bought some coke a couple of times but I knew the guy I was buying from very well.
USE condoms for any sort of sexual activity, but this is self explanatory.
Don't get into fights as the chances of getting out fucked up are very high. Just be friendly and have a great time without being obnoxious to others.

- the island is VERY small. Smaller than any maps would suggest. (or maybe I'm just used to driving a lot, where I live)
- it's expensive there, so bring lots of money. For example, on any given night, a popular DJ will be spinning at either Amnesia, Pacha, or Ushuaia and it'll be 80-120 euro PER PERSON to enter!
- watch out for scammers! Hot girls may approach you to drink and swap out your money with fake ones.
- (I know I made a note about 'hot chicks' in my earlier point, but...) The guy:girl ratio at clubs in Ibiza are about 4:1. The clubs apparently have no fire regulations, so everyone is packed in there like sardines. It's hot and sweaty, and most dudes...everywhere.
- the foam parties sounds good when talking about it, but when it actually happens, a few things to note:
- you can't see anything! So, if you're a girl, expect to be groped everywhere!
- the soap/foam washes off a lot of makeup and hair products, so when the foam is settled, girls will look much different than before the foam started! lol
- there are topless women suntanning on the beach with their kids around. It's totally cool and normal.
- water at clubs are 8 euro and they're small... like 200mL or something.

This is a biggie. I'd listen to this guy.
Buy from the reps if you absolutely must. You might find what you get isn't what you were expecting from some of the street dealers, and it could really ruin your holiday.
Also, don't mess with the cops. They really don't have any qualms with drawing the batons.

I forgot to tell you, but the other guys here did, the island is crazy expensive. I was paying 15 euros for a Corona, 12 euros for a bottle of water or 18 for a shot of whiskey with coca-cola on the side in the famous clubs like Pacha, Space or Amnesia. If you plan on getting drunk inside the clubs, one night could go as high as several hundreds of euros.
Everybody buys bottles of drinks from the small shops near the clubs and get fucked up before they go in. But maybe you're a millionaire and this is not an issue.

If you take a pill that you get there, it's a good idea to test for identity first and also take a small dose (1/5th) and make sure you don't have an adverse reaction. There's Fentanyl going around in the molly in some parts of the world, and the only real way to check for it is to try some (besides sending it to a lab)

I don't know why anyone would ever travel to Ibiza to just experience famous nightclubs full of similar trash i.e. drunk and horny people with loud music that you do in your home town. You also find tons of towny type Brits over there who probably find the place the best place in the world because it has a beach and sunny weather. Ibiza is also very different these days from what it used to be in the past.
I get that not everyone's idea of having fun is to go on a hike, camp, spend time in nature or do adventure sport. But even if you just want to party and get drunk then something like the Burning Man Festival is so so much better, cheaper and infinitely cooler.
