Hello All.

I know there was a big thread about converting movies into mp4 and putting them on the PSP, but since the search function has been removed, I cant find it, and I need help.

So I downloaded the new Zelda Trailer, and I wanted to put it on my PSP. So I went to the following HOW TO site:

Which was awesome. It had step by Step instructions on how to do it.

I downloaded the program they said 3GP_Converter, and I followed the steps. I converted the zelda.mov into a zelda.mp4.

Next I connected my PSP to my laptop, and it was my F: drive. So I clicked on the PSP, then I clicked File, New Folder, and named it MP_ROOT.

Next, I went to the MP_ROOT folder and created a subfolder, and named that 100MNV01, which according to this site, is the directory on the MS-DUO for movies. Anyway, when I went to put the mp4 into the folder, the destination file looked like this:

F:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01

Once I had that done, I then dragged the MP4 file from my desktop and into that destination folder. I then disconnected the PSP from my PC and went into the sytem to the movies section, and then clicked on the memory card, and it said NO Movies Found!!

So can anyone who has put movies onto their PSP, please help me out, as it has been bothering me all night.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to rename it to something like M4V00006.MP4

The latest versions of 3GP_Converter should rename the files accordingly

Only if you use the profile that is 'Direct, Renamed', I believe. otherwise, you have to re-name the file yourself.

Am I missing something in terms of naming the folders????

Hmm... you seem to be doing it right. I dunno if it is really necessary for video viewing purposes, but was your memory stick formatted by the PSP prior to all this?

Not sure why it isn't working, as it sounds like you've done everything right. If you can't get it to work it might be worth giving iPSP a try:

It does all the work of converting and copying the videos onto the PSP for you, as well as lots of other things.

Being as this is somewhat of a PSP thread, I got a quick question. I wanted one, couldnt afford one at the time the pre orders started and didnt think I'd have the cash when they actually came to charging me. I've now come into some cash but ebgames.com says the next shipments ship on April 1st. What are the chances I'll snag a copy of Spider-Man 2 the UMD movie if this is considered the second shipment?

I GOT IT!!!


I dont know what I was doing wrong, but I DLed that iPSP program, and whatever it did to my folder when I connected the PSP to my PC, it now sees the video. GO figure....

I used that 3G converter and did zelda again, and then put it in, and it worked..
