CUMMING, Ga. (AP) -- Police say a Georgia woman has been arrested for placing an online ad telling mothers they could drop off unwanted babies at her home because she wanted one for her teenage daughter.

Forsyth County sheriff's Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said in a statement Monday that detectives received a tip about the Craigslist ad, suggesting mothers drop off any unwanted baby in a "baby box."

Rodriguez says an investigation found that the 47-year-old woman placed the ad to get a baby for her 14-year-old daughter. Rodriguez says the woman said her daughter wanted a baby and would find a way to get one, so she decided to help.

Police say the daughter faces juvenile charges related to the ad.

The Associated Press doesn't generally name juveniles charged with crimes and is not naming the mother to avoid identifying the daughter.

So if I place a craigslist ad asking for someone to drop off a baby because I am making a baby stew, I could get arrested?

If baby cow is veal, then baby human should be peal. Not that I want to give away any restaurant ideas, but is there a difference in taste between formula-fed and free-raised?

As someone who sounds a like a venerable baby factory, I appreciate the offer. I think I'm going to go with Nadya Suleman right now since she has a pretty proven track record delivering the goods

I'm just amazed that their first instinct was to go through the most blatant and illegal way they could think of. I'm definitely not an advocate for teen pregnancy, but wouldn't that have been infinitely easier to do?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they weren't aware that this was illegal.

I do believe the most blatant and illegal way would be to steal someones baby. By comparison, this seems tame at worst.

Was this to deter the daughter from having sex or something? I'm not sure I get the rationale.

I'm reminded of an episode of Dr. Phil I saw like 10 years ago. This teenage girl wanted a baby to the point where she's had sex with multiple men of varying ages. So he let her into a room of crying babies and let her see how she handled it.
