workingdesigns.com -- Been down for about a week.

I absolutely hated Albert Odyssey's translation myself. Way too many jokes that were out of place in the middle of a story sequence (god, the Bruce Lee joke comes to mind). It also doesn't help that the game wasn't that great either. Lunar represents the nice balance between humor and straightforward translation (i.e. humor in non-story sequences).

I never did get an answer to this on RGVS back in the day, Vic
I'm stuck in Alundra with one falcon left from that damn roulette wheel. Is there some trick I'm missing, or are the odds just colossally bad?

There's no surefire way, but you can improve your chances. If I remember right, the wheel will stop the NEXT time OPPOSITE where it last stopped +/- 2 spaces or something like that (it's been a while!). Knowing that can make it beatable with a little luck and about 30-60 minutes to kill.

Thanks. I remember becoming convinced that the game hated me :)

So what's everyone think WD's next game might be?

Sega Ages: Dragon Force (D3/Sega) Odds are small of passing SCEA Product Approval imo, unless WD's willing to do a budget release. They already have the script though... might be worth it. Vic's certainly interested.

Metal Saga: Sajin no Kusari (Success/Crea-Tech) Getting good buzz, looks nice and fits uniquely into the genre (ie: it's not exactly DQ fantasy, FF sci-fi or Megaten occult). I really hope this one makes it.

Bewick Saga: Lazberia Chronicle Chapter 174 (Enterbrain) PS2 could really use a design focused Sim RPG... another good canidate imo, thanks to it's uniqueness and loose ties to Fire Emblem potentially hyping it up among the hardcore. Plus no Nintendo lawsuit this time!

Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time (Atlus/Career Soft) Only way I see it happening is if WD includeds GL4 Returns with it... which probably won't happen as Vic's not to keen on trying any more bundles soon. There's always the chance Atlus USA will do it themselves anyway now.

Goemon (Konami/KCEK) I doubt it's ever going to happen, but WD seems intent not to stop trying. I say give up and bring us the DS game instead. :)

...anything else looking likely? Anything on PSP perhaps (Konami's Twelve, Atlus' Princess Crown, etc)?

Instead of going the RPG route (which will take forever), how about WD show more love to shooters (like how they did under the SPAZ label) once again?

My suggestion: Bring over Taito/Psikyo's PS2 Shooting Collections!

Psikyo Shooting Collection Volume 1: Strikers 1945 & Strikers 1945 II
Psikyo Shooting Collection Volume 2: Sengoku Ace & Sengoku Blade
Psikyo Shooting Collection Volume 3: Sol Divide & Dragon Blaze

:)

I thought none of the SPAZ titles broke even for them, let alone made money?

Yeah, I think shooters are out of the question these days. Especially since SCEA forces budget pricing on them immediately.

As long as there's a Working Designs-related topic, does anyone know what those ??? items in Albert Odyssey for the Saturn were for? I mean the Sun Glasses, Black Rosary and all that. I was never able to figure out wtf those were for.

I would buy this at full price, even. Dragon Force stole full days of my life on the Saturn.

I hope it's Dragon Force, or maybe the Summon Night 3. TearRing Saga would be great too.

Dragon Force seems really unlikely at this point. Berwick would be great but I'm not sure if WD is up to the task. The game is completely 2D with small sprites which aren't very detailed, has a shitload of text, no voice acting, and requires over a meg for the save file. I'm afraid that if WD tries to tackle it we won't see it before 2010 simply because Vic will try to "improve" it to no end. :(

So does anyone have an answer to my question on those items? Back when I played Saturn non-stop, I tried to find out what those items were for but no results came forth. Were those items just put in to annoy people?

Vic's gone on record saying Summon Night's too expensive. Too bad, I'd really like to see some of Flight-Plan's games in english... similarly Black Matrix is tied up by too much bureaucracy with Interchannel according to Vic. Lose/lose, I'd love for either series to come west. :(

I'm pulling for a domestic release of Zwei!, but that's probably impossible.
That'd be great too, but again I doubt SCEA would let it fly. Then again, they let Shining Tears through so who knows...
