I really don't get it.
What does that mean... you only like fake anime girls who speak Japanese or something? I don't really get weeb stuff but like... even Hentai I can look at that and be like yeah look she's getting railed by like an octopus or something.. okay I kinda get it, ya could fap to that in a pinch...

So what's the appeal? Is the cartoon your girlfriend or something? Why is this person 'graduating' using a seemingly fake character voice? There's something on a fundamental level I just don't understand here. Like, I think Astrology is retarded, for example, but I at least can conceptualize the appeal that it has to women.

But as for what I meant, I'm personally not a fan of how a lot of the English vtubers try to speak like small children, and the English fanbase can be pretty insufferable at times.
I'm not a vtuber expert or anything though, I only watch a couple, and only when it is content I am interested in.

The point being that it currently makes less sense to me than hentai (which also doesn't make sense). So the Japanese vtubers don't try to sound like children? But are they still like teenage schoolgirl avatars or whatever?
What does streaming as a cartoon add over this person just streaming as themselves?

There are some Japanese vtubers that do, but it is less common in my experience. I don't think school girl avatars are common in JP or EN.
A reason to use a vtuber avatar over showing your face is that your appearance is less important. It's kind of harder to be a successful streamer if you are an older, average (or below average) looking woman. Many vtubers from hololive are in their 30s and some even in their 40s.
A lot of people also want to separate their work from their real life. If you have millions of subscribers and are streaming with your real face it can be harder to enjoy life outside streaming when people on the streets etc recognise you.
Plus vtuber avatars make it easier to sell merch and stuff.
