7.1.5 PTR going up today, notes just started popping up on mmochamp

Cross your fingers for your favorite specs!

Here's hoping Warrior gets a bunch of their old utility spells back.

Maybe my bars won't be empty as fuck now.

The shadow nerf in 7.1.5 isn't that bad. It would be nice if they'd buff mind spike/lotv if they're gonna nerf s2m but whatever

Now, Leech. That would be very pointless for healing.

I hear Speed's all but worthless unless you somehow manage to get it on all your gear?

But yeah Avoidance is pretty great on anyone. It's like a narrower Versatility but less damage intake is less damage intake.

Leech works with healing too, so if you have 5% leech and heal the tank for 1000,000 you also heal yourself for 5,000. It is actually more powerful than some actual stats in terms of healing throughput in fights where you as a healer are always below max HP.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Demonology got absolutely no mechanic/rotational changes and Demonbolt got nerfed.

wow.

Avoidance doesn't replace real stats, a crit/haste item and a crit/haste/avoidance item would have identical amount of crit/haste, the avoidance one just also lowers damage you take from AoE attacks. Speed/leech/avoidance/indestructible are just bonus stats for fun, they show up very rarely typically and are all a nice addition for every spec. This game is chock full of unavoidable AoE attacks, avoidance is a pretty awesome stat to have.

It is just disappointing to see item upgraded and that is all I get on gear that I can't really even use. If I had gotten a useful piece of gear with avoidance that I would actually use in any content I wouldn't be complaining. Honestly I hadn't even tried any of it on to see what it even did because it has been all pretty much worthless from either a stats or ilvl perspective. I get that it doesn't replace any base stats and just adds a fun stat but it seems to me that rather than rolling an ilvl upgrade it rolls a fun stat. Well once the other players start basing my acceptance into group content on the amount of fun stats I have I will be king.

Looks like Bone Shield was changed to only be removed by melee swings. Huge buff - this was part of why necrotic sucked so much and why you couldn't even consider using Spectral Deflection or dropping under 20% haste. I see this change making it in for sure as we've been asking for it for quite some time.

Gorefiend's grasp looks like it reduced to a 2 minute cooldown/1 minute with talent. Another very necessary improvement but it looks like it's making Tightening Grasp even MORE essential (kiting in mythic+ made it a must for me).

Looking forward to seeing what else comes down the pipe. Assuming that Castigator will be made baseline for Unholy.

Auchs, the game time coin increased 36k to 49k gold. I think I will wait

It's been heading up steadily in recent weeks and whenever they do the change to battle.net credit I'd expect it to spike even higher, so I'd still buy now while you can, I can't see it ever going low again. Though I've been wrong about that before.

Ele getting some nice buffs. I like the way they are changing the talents around as well, a lot of them felt noncompetitive in their tiers.

New legendary gloves for Shaman: Heroism lasts 30 seconds longer for you.

I find myself wishing I hadn't been drawn to Outlaw spec when I came back. Roll the bones can be fine but it can be frustrating as hell too.

I feel like it should be more of a bell curve distribution, where 1 buff rolls are as uncommon as 6-rolls. It's the polar opposite of "I won the lottery", or should be. I shouldn't have to waste so many rolls in a row just to get a viable 2 rolls to continue with my rotation.

Destruction Warlock notes:

Backdraft nerfed.
Eradication nerfed.
Mana problems reintroduced.

Oh, and the new Destruction artifact they want to introduce is insane. Like, do 15% more damage for 16.5s to 42s. Great.

Is it my idea or these changes kill fire mages completely?

Don't worry, there is no way Blizzard would leave their pet class behind. Bet you that either frost or arcane get buffed to replace fire as one of the top 3 ranged specs.

First pass seems to not really do much for Warriors in PVE, I see a lot of stuff for PVP but I don't do that, so I didn't really bothering ready through them.

Still hoping Fury gets a redesign for Juggernaut and it's Execute phase. Getting some defensive CDs would be nice, too.

Seems defile is baseline for unholy now based on this legendary Death Strike and Death Coil reduce the remaining cooldown of Defile by 2.0 sec.

7.1.5 Sephuz is now 25% Haste and procs on Interrupts.

that could be an interesting way to solve some of their AOE awkwardness.

Poked through some of the 'shit' legendaries on the wowdb PTR section. Prydaz triggers the 30% maximum HP shield every 30 seconds regardless now, which seems extremely useful. Sephuz is the same except now procs from interrupts, lol. It's gonna be even better for 5-mans where it was already great, and still not good in raids.

edit: didn't notice the 25% haste. Holy crap I'm going to be a god in mythic+.

That Sephuz change is pretty nice, especially for a spec like Unholy that has next to no on-demand stuns but a baseline interrupt.

I'll take that Sephuz buff, but the only endgame I really do on my rogue is some light M+ where it was already useful. I'll be able to re-equip it tomorrow.

Is sort of funny that they made it better in the one PvE environment where it's already useful and not touched the complaints about it.

Interrupts are pretty common in raids, this definitely increases its viability there.

Sure, but it's still going to end up being near the bottom for most classes if they are primarily raiders. Unless Nighthold has a lot of things to interrupt or CC.

For the most part there's a finite number of interrupts and it requires your interrupt to be successful. So true, you might get to trigger it once or twice during an encounter where you previously wouldn't trigger it all. I erred when saying "not touched."

I'm fine with the idea of legendaries that don't fit any situation. I mean, right now I have no specific legendary items for Frost, but I get a lot of mileage out of Sephuz tanking 5 man content so I'm cool with it. It changes my gameplay, feels powerful, and has a certain 'personality' to it that legendaries should. I like the 7.1.5 change more than I would if it was just changed to a weaker passive effect.

I guess it'll still be awkward for late joining raiders in nighthold who get that as their only legendary. But it rains orange every Tuesday now and people who keep at it will have plenty to choose from by then. Which is blizzard's evil insidious plan of course, keep paying that sub fee.

?

ToV isn't the only raid

Ignoring EN because at the time these hit that raid will be trivial

Odyn - stun adds
Helya - interrupt Mistcaller

Nighthold:
Aluriel - interrupt add
Krosus - interrupt add
Elisande - interrupt add

Out of 13 encounters, 5 have an interrupt. Not really a 'pretty common' sight. Additionally, realize you'll be 'competing' for interrupts with your other raid members that have the ring, much like Bough of Corruption and Grotesque Statuette. Not that fantastic of a legendary. It's a step in the right direction, but it's not good and you won't see much usage out of it.

Now m+, its a godlike ring

Man, I'm no theorycrafter but some of those new legendaries are fucking insane. Shaman one makes Heroism/Bloodlust last 30s longer on you? Goddamn.

How is that different from the mage legendary that allows you to cast Time Warp for yourself without the debuff?

mage one is stronger, the extra 30s of lust with the shaman legendary you won't have cooldowns up for. It's necessary though since enh shamans have no good offensive legendaries.

New ret belt is bonkers tho

As a Prot/Fury Warrior who only has Prydaz and Sephuz's, I'm really liking what's going to happen with 7.1.5! Those changes look great! And I REALLY want to get the new Legendary shoulders that give Heroic Leap 2 extra charges... That ability is my favorite thing ever.

Too bad those changes won't be active for a while. But makes me feel a little better about only having the 2 worst legendaries for a warrior right now :)

Looks like Arcane mages are getting their own version of the shield spell. While I like ice barrier, this should be neat. Also some really nice buffs to arcane mages, particularly with arcane orb getting a bloody MASSIVE buff from 81.7% spell power to 500%.

Also looks like Arcane Barrage, if talented, can cause slow effects. Yay! Should be blast though.

edit; Fire mages getting a fire barrier too. Visual change.

edit: Apparently prismatic shield is the old mana shield graphic. Whee.

Mage is one class I have zero knowledge of so I didn't know that was a thing but even though CDs aren't up for the extra 30 seconds Enhance gains so much off of auto attacking it seems so good to me.

Is that the only Warrior specific legendary thus far? Looks like it. Warriors neglected again.

(I know, I know, still early).

Crit / Mastery makes me cry. Mastery = awesome for Arms. Crit = crap.

Got my second legendary today and... it was Prydaz. Thankfully on a tank (specifically bear druid with a ton of HP) it actually seems pretty nice, gives me ~750k shield, gets up to 1 million in a random heroic with the 15% buff. Not the best, but then I look and bam, it is upgraded to 30% with no 5 second timer in 7.1.5. Honestly, for a tank this takes it to pretty crazy levels, will be around a 1,500,000 shield every 30 seconds for me considering health upgrades by then, equating to 50,000 HPS.

It is just disappointing to see item upgraded and that is all I get on gear that I can't really even use. That is another bit of misconception, the "extra stat roll" and the "warforge/titanforge" roll are all separate. Avoidance on a piece didn't mean that you lost a potential warforge roll. The current info on how titanforging works is that the item rolls to forge up, and if successful it rolls again, up to the current max. So getting a high titanforged piece means you passed X number of rolls. Socket and extra stats are both separate and can happen in addition to WF/TF rolls.

Though it does feel a little bad to see the arrows on the graphic and get excited only to realize it was just Speed that was added to a piece that remains 840 and unusable, but this is just a bad feeling, and not an actual loss of chance for good gear.

That's the only warrior specific one being added in 7.1.5... I honestly know very little about the current warrior legendaries. I know there's a fury helmet, and something for arms that makes Mortal Strike refund some rage.

For some reason I sucked at Arms. I have way more fun and do better DPS as fury, so I've been rolling with it and trying to stack haste/crit. But Mastery doesn't seem too bad for fury either. I'm not high-end mythic raider or anything so I can have some slack if my numbers aren't exactly perfect. I'm pretty happy with my 220k DPS at 863 as fury. I'm usually tanking when I do harder content anyway.

Am I missing it or is there no Guardian specific legendary? Moonfire one seems more balance-centric, though it can be used on Guardian with mediocre gains, but Feral and Resto get their own specific ones. Kind of sucks but what can you do. I just keep checking with hopes that there are no awful changes or nerfs in store for Guardian, I think we're quite good right now but I am afraid as always that my spec in a good spot gets thrown in the trash.

Prot wars mostly got favored in the legendaries, that healing 1% per 10 rage used is insane.

Arms gloves and the Sudden Death ring are some of the best DPS legend arise across all classes.

So is Jewelcrafting just not worth it?

Granted, I'm only level 700, but right now it seems that I get 3 or 4 gems per STACK of ore, and a shitload of chips that are basically worthless.

Don't want to keep throwing money away if blacksmithing or even just plain AHing will result in more gold.

I'm sorry did they gut Fire mages Combustion?

Combustion Engulfs you in flames for 10 sec, increasing your critical strike chance by 100% and granting you Mastery equal to 50% your Critical Strike stat. Castable while casting other spells. Mage - Fire Spec. 10% of Base Mana. Instant. 2 min cooldown.

MMOChamp is putting this as a positive?

Hell yeah warlocks

Backdraft Casting Conflagrate reduces the cast time of Incinerate and Chaos Bolt by 30% for 5 sec your next two Incinerates or Chaos Bolts by 30%. Destruction Warlock - Level 15 Talent.

Added a new quest at level 110 for that rewards the recipe for a Rechargeable Reaves Battery.* This item can be used once every 30 minutes and does not have charges.

Huge for Legion eng. A consumable for our only real device was such a bummer. The Legion profession still sucks, but this is an improvement.

yeah looks like a big fire mage nerf incoming, which is bad for me because I am not a good player

I do appreciate some of the changes, though, cauterize for everyone is good and every spec getting it's own shield is nice as well

the nerfs to fire blast and flame on are brutal, though
