Just finished our first +10. Eye of Azshara Tyrannical. Not a pleasant experience. I think we wiped 6+ times on the first boss, once on the second, once or twice on the third... and 22 times on Wrath. We had a single try at ~8 million HP left (from 182 million). After we all were basically done, we tried to leave to switch talents, buy flasks and potions and buffood and whatever else was missing.

After that, we killed him after one wipe after 3:15 minutes. And we only wiped because our healer fucked up on the first big AoE and got hit. Seriously, all these buffs made such a difference. We should have tried that much earlier.

That aside, holy shit at the new Prydaz and Sephuz! Especially the latter now seems REALLY attractive. xD

Critical Mass Multiplies the critical strike chance of your Fireball, Pyroblast, and Scorch by 1.1. Mage - Fire Spec. Arcane, Frost: Your spells have a 15% increased chance to deal a critical strike. Fire: Your spells have a 15% increased chance to deal a critical strike. You gain 0% more of the Critical Strike stat from all sources. Mage - Fire Spec.
Critical Mass Name changed from "Molten Armor" to "Critical Mass". Molten Armor grants an additional 10% critical strike chance. Mage - Fire Spec. Critical Mass increases your Critical Strike stat from all sources by 10%. Mage - Fire Spec.

you know, I don't really mind a nerf, I don't play on the level where I have to care about huge numbers and stuff
I wouldn't care if they just nerfed the damage to a certain degree, that's ok, the game needs balance

but the changes to fireblast, flame on and ice floes are changes in the mechanics that simply make the fire mage less fun to play. the fire mage has never been as fun as with legion, and with those changes it would be a lot less fun.

Arcane shield is just the old mana shield.

And Fire is the weird flaming bubble animation used for a lot of generic items.

hm, would have loved to see them, but maybe they are only placeholders if they're old generic effects
 
Question about feral druid: Icy Veins has haste listed as the least desirable stab but under the gear section, Bloodthirsty Instinct is listed as one of the trinkets to go for which gives a boost to haste. Why is it one of the better trinkets?

Ignoring EN because at the time these hit that raid will be trivial

Odyn - stun adds
Helya - interrupt Mistcaller

Nighthold:
Aluriel - interrupt add
Krosus - interrupt add
Elisande - interrupt add

Out of 13 encounters, 5 have an interrupt. Not really a 'pretty common' sight. Additionally, realize you'll be 'competing' for interrupts with your other raid members that have the ring, much like Bough of Corruption and Grotesque Statuette. Not that fantastic of a legendary. It's a step in the right direction, but it's not good and you won't see much usage out of it.

Now m+, its a godlike ring

What an obtuse argument. It's good on fights with interrupts now. Period. Interrupting in raids is common enough that it's good on some fights. Obviously on fights without it, you'll swap it out.

If i can't use my legendary on 8 out of 13 encounters its not a 'good legendary'. 5/13 isn't common. 5/13 is 38% buddy. 38% won't get you anywhere outside of a betting circle. Period.

You people say 'common' but its a legendary that has no usage in a majority of the fights. Next you're going to tell me Chain of Thrayn is a good legendary in fights when 'you need the healing for burst scenarios as a dps'. Yeah that's why it's getting completely reworked and why my holy paladin ragelogged for 10 minutes after getting it.

Legendaries are supposed to feel good, and improve your performance. If you're talking about raiding at any level of competence, that's what you should expect out of your legendaries. So to say that a legendary that gets replaced by any 870 socket ring with the right stats is a good ring is silly.

Of course if you're just a casual raider, I can see where your approach is coming from.

besides, you're going to find yourself single targetting a boss more often than you are chain interrupting to keep sephuz's buff up

At least Sephuz, whether old or new version, gives a DPS boost at all in some perfect situations. Unlike an enh/ele sham or hunter with those boots that heal you when you stand still, or a ret pally getting Prydaz. Honestly, not sure why Sephuz gets so much more hate than Prydaz, probably because it has the potential to be decent but falls short.

Then again, I purely do Mythic+, I definitely won't be doing any organized raiding this expansion, so Sephuz was always totally fine for everyone in my group. Only thing that sucked for us was the person who got it was the class that valued haste the lowest hah.

I hear Speed's all but worthless unless you somehow manage to get it on all your gear?

But yeah Avoidance is pretty great on anyone. It's like a narrower Versatility but less damage intake is less damage intake.
For some reason heals trigger leech, so prob useful if healer forgot own health bar.

Fire nerfs seem so odd considering they just as of today even commented on the fact that fire is trailing the other specs. Not sure the point of the firestarter nerf either. I mean who really used that to any degree? If anything it needed a buff to be competative

Many specs are getting an overall nerf btw (but with buffs to shitty talents); seems like they want to tone down the scaling in preparation for Nighthold and tier sets.

It's no different than WoD, released November with Highmaul that had no tier sets, BRF released in Feb with tier sets. Might be a bit longer wait overall between launch and tier, but only by a few weeks. But yea, itemization this expansion is worst its ever been.

Is there a tier set outside the crappy class hall set?

Yea, tier sets in Nighthold raid, none in game right now. Tier set is actually in LFR this time too, so can finally get the appearance without having to do organized raids.

I don't think I've completed a class raid set in any version of WoW.

Closest was 7/8 Nemesis back in Vanilla, that important threat reduction oh so close.

I've done the world quest and killed matriarchs and nothing.

The pets are spawns that you can only see after killing the matriarch. You talk to them and feed them their preferred food and you get the pet. Only works while the world quest for that area is active (it's fine if you've already completed it).

It's not 100%. I had to kill the matriarch four times in Stormheim before I could see the pet.

They also don't necessarily spawn in the same spot as the matriarch.

I've done the world quest and killed matriarchs and nothing.

You need to kill the martriarch, go to a spot where the orphan spawns with a certain food in your inventory (all easily bought in Dalaran or elsewhere on the Broken isles) and interact with the orphan. This guide covers it all, with coordinates to the orphan spawns included (one in particular is fairly far from the matriarch).

However, there's also a bug where the orphan might not spawn for you after killing the matriarch, in which case you may just need to try again, or use your whistle and come back. Or something. I'm not sure why it does this, but I've had to try again on 2/4 of them, and it's a fairly common reported issue.

Its kind of sad that if you die in Odyn's fight in ToV, you don't get to spectate in the stands above. That happens if you die while fighting Odyn in Halls of Valor.

Have they not done that? They've reshuffled talents, but I don't see any previous talents becoming baked in(Aside from Cauterize for mages which is...well, I always took shimmer anyway)

They baked in Patient Sniper for MM and... well... as the post above you indicates it isn't going well. If that's how they do it I take it back, I don't want anything baked in anymore.
