World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Must depend on server, because every time I've been down there and guards were called I got attacked.

The 5g personal guards are not supposed to go away ever, even when guards are called away (unless their timer runs out). There was a bug early that they would just randomly disappear, but it has been fixed and I've had no problem with the 5g personal guards since, and I'm on a PvP server and everything. Probably spent 10-15 hours total in the underbelly too on various alts and fishing and whatnot. Might still be some bugs but its been pretty consistent for me.

If I wanted something to tank mythic 2-7's would a pally or dk be more effective? Dont mind whichever does more dps, just want something beefy w/ nice oh shit buttons & utility.

Any Assassin Rogues here? is it true you should use Envenom at 2-3 CP to keep Elaborate Planning at all times?

You never went to the underbelly the first month of the expansion? Because that was always happening.

I missed the first week of release and didn't hire any guards for a few weeks into the expac. I enjoy brawling.

So no, I must've missed it when it was bugged, but since then /shrug. All good!

Admittedly haven't been down there in a few weeks after I got my Rat, though.

I'm seriously thinking rerolling my LW+skinning to Alch+herb. Proccing potions is 100000x more useful than anything LW can do. Not to mention longer flask times.

Pls stop me.

I'm in that group right now if you talking aboot the +11 EU maw :D

;O
small world

I attached a note to the leader saying it made me laugh and removed my application
If you're still looking for dps I'm an Outlaw Rouge (876) and do high lvl mythics regularly, did a couple of lvl 10 but not in time

I'm sittin' here tryin' to slang a BRH +9 and I can't for the life of me get ANY bites.

Even so-called carry groups won't touch this piece.

Goddammit.

Errr, why exactly? I was exalted with every faction weeks before 7.1 if thats it. Sometimes I will see Enigma, Ley Race and stuff pop up but no Emissary

Blizzard hotfixed it some weeks back to make it rarer, that's all. Then they hotfixed the singular quests to show up more often instead.

I think you were responding the wrong person?

Do we have a list of confirmed "Legendary Eligible" activities?

Dungeon bosses, Raid bosses, world bosses, Emissary caches and weekly mythic+ chest are the main drops.

Also confirmed - arena wins, bg wins, rare mobs and treasures but I think the chance is probably really low. People have gotten them this way but nobody I've ever met.

You don't get them from individual WQ or gathering.

Actually yeah you can get them from individual World Quests, but it's mainly if it was already a rare mob one I think. Pretty sure I've seen someone get it that way. But your pity chance has gotta be way up there.

In other news, someone explain undead death knights to me...

Yeah if a rare mob is marked as a WQ target they can still drop. Other then that, haven't heard of any other drops from individual WQ.

On low pop it is really bad, because the jock strap crowd is desperate to get easy honor off of targets that won't fight back. You seriously don't last five seconds ever.

Kinda thinking of creating a druid alt but I can't come up with a name I like, so I'm just hitting the name generator.

And god the female NE names it gives are just some of the longest gibberish.

Rocherfalas, Aquyssaellea, Estemavrayia, Sybrochadon (that sounds like a medicine), Rosaelyrissa...

edit: Remembered a name I used to use on a druid alt, yay~

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Like my artifact hidden appearance(Felo'Melorn) I got on a day I called off work and decided to hop on to do a quick world quest. That day was awesome.

This artifact story brought a tear to my eye, like if you cry evrytim.

So weird seeing relics of a game that has withstood the test of time longer than any other.

Like I'm flying to Azshara for my DH campaign and I ended up flying through Felwood. Like...who even goes there anymore? I ended up bumping into one paladin leveling there, and even that blew my mind.

This game is so massive, years of man hours put into developing these big sections of the game that most don't even see/go to anymore.

Its nice to see Legion making use of old content to tell their story, through Ulduar or ICC even with class campaigns.

Yeah. I love that part about Legion, that it DOESN'T ignore old areas. Which is great because, honestly each expansion before it(Bar Cata) treated the area like a theme park, whereas you would do everything in that area, Legion spreads out the world and takes you back to old places. Because of that it really makes it feel more like a living world.

It's kind of crazy how many prime leveling spots pre-cata feel completely abandoned now in favor of dungeon qeueus.

Desolace, Searing Gorge, Felwood, Winterspring, Dustwallow

I totally agree!

Some might hate on Emerald Nightmare for re-using so many assets...but I was initially blown away to be raiding in Un'goro and Mulgore. Like fuck yeah! I thought it was creative as hell.

I loved those areas. Because those are iconic areas-Mulgore, Un'goro, Moonglade, and they're twisted in a way they're familiar but eerily different.

Legion really is a great expansion for alot of reasons. Art direction and where you go is one of them.

I did the Dreadstead quest recently for nostalgia sake, and flying and exploring the outside of Dire Maul was really weird.

The nightmares are not very nightmarish. And beyond some surface similarities, don't really invoke the places they're meant to represent.

It was kind of a flavor fail not setting the fights in places more urbanized by the civilizations of Azeroth. The whole point of the Dream is to be a reflection of Azeroth untainted by conscious hands. So why set it in Un'goro, which is already more or less pure wilderness. Mulgore, which is just plains and bluffs (and why can we see the ruins of Thunderbluff in the Nightmare? Thunderbluff shouldn't exist in Dream Mulgore) and Moonglade (another heavily natured area still).

They should've went all out to show us an Elwynn forest untouched by human hands. The Barrens before it fell to desertification. Maybe even pre-Sundering locales like Northrend while it was part of Kalimdor, or Zin'Azshari.

Actually now that I think about it, the bridges in Nightmare Moonglade shouldn't be there either. Fuck, EN gets worse and worse the more I think about it.

Emerald Dream feels like one of the worst raids so far in recent memory to me. The fights aren't fun and rely on old mechanics from other bosses, the art isn't good, it feels like a shitty distraction rather than what we're on the Broken Isles to do.

Even Highmaul had you killing off a Warlord in it even if it was a distraction raid. Cenarius is the only fight from EN I kind of enjoyed.

It is not just that assets are being reused. The Emerald Dream is supposed to be a naturally pure and magically lush location that stretches the boundaries of reality. There should be no structures or sign of intelligent life and instead you get torn up Thunderbluff and Furlbog City. The depiction of the Emerald Nightmare is one of the worst lore blunders to date when they were holding off on Emerald Dream stuff for over a decade so that they'd be able to get it right.

Yeah, Emerald Nightmare is pretty meh overall. While I actually like the nightmare areas of Val'sharah, I find the aesthetic in the raid itself too boring, for one. I think it also sucks how its so disconnected. The whole portal hub thing just makes it lame. I like it when you can feel how the raid connects with itself (which we should get with Nighthold, I imagine).

And then there's Xavius' room which is the most boring of them all. I was expecting the rift of aln to be...I don't know honestly. Something, not a foggy nondescript room. Skybox was neat though I'll give it that. A guy I was with when the raid opened in LFR said it best "for a moment, I thought the room was still loading."

That said, I wasn't much a fan of Draenor's entry tiers either.

the real rift of aln is the room after you kill Xavius btw, but overall ED is kinda meh....

I thought that was more the dream renewed, unless you mean that hollow under a tree or cave or whatever it was with teh flower that Xal'atath will talk about.

Been leveling a mage and rather than skip ahead past zones and entire expansions I've just stuck to the main leveling path in the Eastern Kingdom despite being severely overleveled. Just been completing the quests and clearing zones for achievements as well as to grind out faction rep and unlock xmogs. Periodically I'll hop into the dungeon queue to speed my leveling up but I'm too burnt out on the dungeons to do it for long. It's been a nice change of pace to play through some of this older stuff rather than grind my way through the same few dungeons ad nauseum.

Worked my way through most of the Eastern Kingdom, just have the Cape of Stranglethorn left, and the zone populations just dies off at the lvl 25-30 gated questing content. On average I'd see 2 to 3 players in zones like the Arathi Highlands, the Hinterlands, the Western Plaguelands, The Badlands, the Burning Steppes, Searing Gorge, Swamp of Sorrows and The Blasted Lands. It's nuts that there's this huge world and so much of it is obsolete and empty.

One nice deviation from the desolation was Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands. On top of the few people leveling, there's lots of high level players, the place is pretty lively compared to all of the zones leading up to it. It's too bad they weren't able to integrate class halls in other old zones. I know there's Fray Island for Warriors (that hut would have been better than the weird Valhalla shit they have now) and Ravenholdt for Rogues but as a newer player I'm unaware of there being other places that have significance for the remaining classes.

It would've been cool to see a few other questing hubs as lively as the EPL. I'm going to run through Kalimdor after the Eastern Kingdoms and I imagine it will be the same once you hit Stone Talon Mountains, every zone after will be a ghost town.

Is there an EU realm with any GAF members on with open guilds? I reinstalled and am considering grabbing Legion but I haven't played in years, starting from scratch so wanted a place where I could slot into a social guild easily.

Honestly, my only real interest in legacy servers would be relevelling through the old zones.

I don't really care about raiding in vanilla til at least BWL
