World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Low Tier
EN Mythic breakdown:

Nythendra - Only fight with good-pacing imo. Mind control mechanic is fresh and puts alot of personal responsibility on players, with some rng of course (double infest LUL see ya parse). It's basically Heroic +1 or 2 fresh mechanics that all synergize with her mechanics. Great fight 6/10

Renferal - Snorefest. Added mechanics are either avoided by simply sidestepping, and the twisting wind or w/e the roc does on platform 2 is tank cds soloable. Joke fight, never even should see the third platform. 3/10

Ursoc - Butcher if butcher was slower and easier. Not even a real dps check since your raiders only have to do about 310k dps to beat the timer. Added 'mechanic' is simply cleave off this other bear LUL. 4/10

Dragons - Kinda hectic at first glance. It's heroic with all the dragons, so nothing anyone hasn't seen before. Certain classes perform better than others on this, (destrolock, hunter, mage) while others get punished for the large amounts of moving. Again, it just seems like heroic+, which shouldn't be a thing. 4/10

Ilgynoth - More frustrating than difficult, as most control dps fights are. This one is especially obnoxious because of the speed of the ichors, but otherwise the fight is pretty meh. Death blossom is pretty rng too. Dull fight where padding or not, it doesn't matter as long as you don't get too many stacks of ichor explosions. 2/10

Cenarius - Only 'fun' fight in EN. High-pace, healing intensive, and there's a lot of different strats involved in dealing with brambles as well as thorns. Brambles is the only thing that keeps this fight from being a 'good' encounter, as Blizzard's decision to make an untrackable mechanic really isn't as intuitive or challenging as most would make it out to be. 6/10

Xavius- It's heroic. Room is boring, boss is boring, fight is 8 minutes of do your rotation. Horrible disappointment for the last boss of the instance. 2/10

Emerald Nightmare pales in comparison to Highmaul imo. Outside of Bladefist being a pushover, the other mythic encounters in Highmaul were all much more mechanically unique as well as better paced.

Trial of Valor looks dope though hopefully Helya doesn't die in 2 hours.

Does anyone have an suggestions on how to not feel burnt out on WoW?

Rolled a BrM Monk just before 7.0 came out, got to 110 and realised how bad they were compared to other tanks. Still, managed to play through the majority of the content (Minus raids and M+) but now I feel a little bored and not sure what to do.

I still have my free 100 boost, should I use it on a DPS character?

pvp, dps/heals, or maybe just tone down your playtime. I'm taking it easy until Trial of Valor releases, just doing my world quests+keeping up on artifact power and doing weeklies. Remember its just a game, not a job.

Don't do things you don't feel like doing. Not being snarky.

I burned out a lot because I always felt like I had to keep up on my dailies/mount farming, etc. Skipping a day or two isn't the end of the world.

Also rolling alts helps keep me interested, although getting them geared up is a grind in itself.

I've found I get less burned out if i don't do things I don't want - like doing the daily cache quests or grinding ap. It can be tough to be okay with not maxinf out, but giving myself a pass has definitely helped me keep playing longer.

Is it worth doing MoP and WoD stuff on an alt if I've never done it?

I noticed that ghost wolf no longer cancels your Suramar disguise. Actually, it even disguises your wolf form as a mana saber now.

I've quit MMOs enough times to know when I'm burning out. It's always preceded by only logging in for 'obligations'.

In my case I'm still having a lot of fun doing mythic+ speedruns and Karazhan. I'm glad they have engaging 5 man content and I'm fortunate to have a group I enjoy doing it with. But I'm constantly feeling that pull from other games, and the less I play WoW the less of a hold it has on me. I figure if WoW holds up until Persona 5 for me I'll be impressed, but my interest in WoW won't survive that game.

Nice surprise out of the emissary chest today:

Bah, never thought this would actually be an issue but is there a reasonable way to farm Blood of Sargeras? My main has like 500 or something, and I've always had more than I need passively, but my fresh 110 alt only has ~3 and needs 10 for the order campaign. I have herbalism, but after an hour of herbing my one herb that I have rank 2 for, I didn't get a single blood. And over the past 2 days, I haven't gotten a single WQ rewarding bloods. Can't queue for heroic yet because WQs are being stingy with gear as well, and normal queues are taking upwards of 45 minutes. Do I just have to play the waiting game?

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
How do you tank swap with all four dragons? Or do you mean two are in the air at any given time?

Is that just using the ConsolePort addon? How did you get the custom action bar setup?

I like the idea of using a controller for melee characters.

Using console port and bartender. Mainly for bartender keybindings. It works for me because since demon hunters are fairly active and have set buttons that are not too much I can use the set up pretty well.

Console port settings are now nearly perfect.

Here is a little peek at how I play demon Hunter on pad:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJxoyrdy0-c

Interesting, seems to work fairly well especially on a DH because of so many area based attacks. Targetting is just via tab-type targets? To me, the only issue with consoleport remains having to quickly swap to a specific target to interrupt or taunt it or whatnot, which is easily overcome by, well, not doing content that requires extreme precision when playing with a controller. I may give this a shot since I quite liked playing FF XIV with a controller.

Also it always surprises me how many people don't play with nameplates. Maybe I've been playing a tank too long, but being able to see at a glance the HP of all the mobs, having a much easier way to target/see what you have targetted, but most importantly, which ones are casting that full heal/fear and might need an interrupt or stun. Oh, and also be able to more easily see when pats are coming in, etc. I always wondered how our DH managed to Fel Rush/Veng Retreat into so many extra packs, or how our holy paladin managed to pull so many extra packs that he didn't notice patting behind him until I found out they both dont play with nameplates on. To each their own, and maybe I am just bad, but I find this game almost unplayable without nameplates. Again, could just be long term tank bias.

Gear up for heroics or grind out gathering.

Guess it is back to herbalism then, bleh this is the last DPS alt I roll, not used to having to wait for my dungeon queues.

There are some sub options of how the targeting works it's generally what is in front of you. I'd like just a few more tweaks to really be able to select what target you want and some other small thing to make it perfect.

I don't have the name plates just to clean up the screen some of my mods already give me some health notifications.

Does that mean frost dks too?

Which boss does a frost dk need? Oh my god i should level my shammy but hes only level 40

What the fuuuuck

Don't believe its known which boss yet, but at least we'll know when it finally happens.

Also good to hear. It was astoundingly dumb for them to only be a chance drop, especially for the likes of Fury warriors, who need drops off two world bosses.

Another nice change:

Lingering Soul Fragments for the quest "Soul Prism of the Illidari" should now be guaranteed to drop from Heroic dungeon end bosses.

Thank god. I ran five heroics and did not have a single drop from the final bosses of any of them. That was insane.

Thanks Blizzard for listening to feedback and being reasonable with this. For the quick change.

Thanks for not listening to jerks like a certain poster in this thread.

I'll still have to do 80 heroics but it's accessible to me now. A grind but an accessible one.

That makes me very happy.

Wait, does that Karazhan change mean it will no longer be possible to reset and try again for Nightbane?

All we know about Frost DK's hidden appearance is that the boss hasn't spawned yet. General consensus is it's the Soultakers.

And if it works like any other dungeon, you should be able to reset Khara, just not get any loot for any bosses done.

Enhancement Shaman, Fury Warrior (two bosses, actually, they need a skull from both of the dragons), Frost DK, off the top of my head.

edit: No, monks are Emerald Nightmare (healer), brew perk (tank), and Withered (dps)

So how much Nightfallen quests is in the game? I'm at 7/11 right now. Just did the Emerald Nightmare raid for the drop. No more quests, I guess its back to rep grinding from world quests?

I'm like 9k into revered.

There's another set towards the end of Revered, IIRC. Aside from that, make sure you've finished Leyline Bling and completed all the side quests.

I'm hoping that manually resetting does bring back the boss mobs. Right now that's how it works, you can go back in and everything will have respawned but the bosses won't drop loot. We cleared up to Curator a few times last night practicing the speed run and all we had to do was reset.

I can see why people wouldn't want to have to clear the place in one sitting, but only getting one chance at nightbane a week would be obnoxious. Although I think that's how the ZA mount worked...used to sell those to people.

Yea, that is usually what people mention when they don't like nameplates, and I agree it does cause a lot of clutter. But there are some situations that I just could not get the same information otherwise, for example the 2x healer 1x fear mob pull in Maw teeming, I have no way of keeping track of and quickly targetting the mob that ends up casting the thing I have to interrupt without nameplates. But again, for a non tank I think they are not as necessary, I just find the game to be much more difficult to play without them personally. I also use them heavily for buff/debuff tracking.

How happy I am depends on whether or not I can re-do Flotsam this week for the appearance. If not, I'm happy for all the Enh that haven't done the world boss yet and get it, but do think it would've been a little more fair if they waited until reset to push this, so as not to penalize the people on top of their world boss kills. But I can never be too mad about more people getting a cool thing, even if I didn't get it.

E: Nope can't get it if you killed it already. Unfortunate but expected.

Great change. Now if only they would back track on the "Balance of Power" line and make that doable in LFR, instead of 1/5th of artifact appearances being gated behind organized raiding when no other appearance is gated behind non-queueable content.

I know for a fact that you cannot manually reset it once you kill the Arcane Wyrm boss at the very least, as the instance portal takes you straight to the big/little area. Blue posts have said that they intend Kara to be similar to raids, in that if the same group comes back in dead bosses remain dead, as opposed to loot locks like other Mythics. What I am not sure about is if you have someone's alt enter the instance, if mains who are saved could then zone in there and be loot locked with bosses up. Timer doesn't start until you open the door, so the alt could then swap back to their main for another try at the timer.

So am I SOL since I already killed that boss and bonus rolled on Tuesday?

Yep, kind of annoying, just tested it. Time to wait until Humongris I guess (he hasn't come up yet has he?), or possibly Calamir in terms of world bosses that might drop the Enh appearance.

Yeah Humongris hasn't shown yet. Calamir will be a while though, wasn't he last week?

Oh you're right, I forgot. My experiences with the world bosses thus far have been "log in on Tuesday, go to world boss, charge in and tag it, proceed to get killed by 213453 horde, come back 5 minutes later and see if I got loot/bonus roll". Guess Humongris is the only shot, or we are waiting for Levantus again.

Man, a few of my friends needed a tank for mythic dungeons so I leveled my Druid for it and they wanted to do all the achievements. I didn't really care until I saw the dungeon hero artifact skin unlock, I had read somewhere that you needed to unlock the first skin to even use the others in that tier so I asked them about it... "Nah, we can use it once we finish the achievements" so I was all stoked. I don't really raid aside from LFR... I want to be a glowy red bear.

This is the EXACT reason I want this change so badly, and mention it every chance I get. NeonBear is just SO COOL, and I want it more than any other artifact skin in the game. I just wish blizzard would recognize that doing a +15 keystone is more than enough to prove that you've earned it, just as much as someone who slogs through 5-10 weeks of normal mode raiding :(

Well that sucks. I killed Flotsam earlier in the week on my shaman and seeing the hotfix I tried going back for the hidden artifact. It didn't drop since I was loot locked which I kind of figured. Oh well, don't care too much about it anyways.

Its kinda weird the various brews you get from the daily keg for the monk hall perk don't stack with their own kind. Especially when you can only have 5 of each max.

edit: Lame they don't stack, either. Ah well, infinite roll charges it is!

Yeah, its really weird. I lucked out and got the Brew hidden skin on like the 3rd or 4th day so I stopped picking them up.

I actually got it on the very first day, heh. I was wondering if it was just really stupid good luck on my part or a guaranteed first drop.

Guess its the former, now, haha. Now if only my damn stone fists would drop. GAH.

Its a real sweet skin though, and it does make me consider taking up tanking on my offtime.

Well atleast I should try to get exalted with Valarjar so I can get the holy priest one.
