World of Warcraft ScreenShot Thread.

(sigh) I think I'm going to buy this game as a Christmas present to myself, I can easily afford it and the curiousity is getting the better of me. I'm off the whole week after Christmas, that would be a prime time to get started on my first MMORPG ever. Is it too late to join the GAF clan?

I had a hella lotta fun in BRD yesterday. Was doing it with a couple of NE, warrior/hunter and a dwarf paladin. All sorts of bastardry been thrown at us, but we took it pretty well. Died sure, but still was great :)
Also the levels of the mobs are relatively consistent (at least the area we explored).

Unlike the VC instance which has just swarms of respawning mobs... now that ISN'T fun. also their level ranges from 17 normal, which is way too easy and then gets upto 22+ elites as you get close to vancleef. Silly.
that's not blackrock depths. blackrock depths is for people around level 55, you're thinking of blackfathom deeps.

Here, marvel at my level six rogue gnome displayed on my magnificent Radeon 7500: (Christmas can't come soon enough)

Awwwww yeah... PVP showdown.... Horde vs. Alliance! This is the first time I've seen Alliance people on the Horde half of the world. The players in the zone all coorrdinated a surprise attack on them:

Naw Mengy, there's always room for more on the GAF clan, just remember, ya gotta be Horde:)

-edit-

And I still can't believe people didn't believe me when I sent out the alert on the Alliance PCs while I was hunting Stormsnouts:P Glad ya'll got 'em though, I mean come on, the Barrens is OUR turf.

Here I am stealthed and going in for a better view.

I'm guessing tailoring is the way to go for Warlocks?
I disagree.. For me personally Alchemy has been a boon... sure at the lower levels tailoring is better for generating newer armor at a faster rate than good pieces drop, but at higher levels Alchemy provides some serious buffs.

Because I'm not playing... and I've fallin a little behind in my keeping up with the game: what are some good buffs that Alc. can produce?

I would think that making your own clothing serves two nice purposes: the creation of your own cool looking clothing and the ability to create armor lifts as well as stat boosters through clothing.

things that I get from Alchemy

Stat increases
Shadow damage increases
Fire damage increases
Resistances including shadow, holy, fire, magic
Run speed

Now truthfully it is a horse a piece. I mean are you getting your stat boost from armor, weapon, or potion... but here is the thing.. armor drops left and right in the game. weapons drop left and right in the game. and both drop with enough frequency that getting that armor that boosts the stat you want is usually not to hard. Potions though, potions drop rather infrequently. So while you are certain to have a constant stream of armor with the bonuses you want dropping, potions to temporarily raise stats will be few and far between, and the ones to specfically raise the stats you want will even be fewer.

One thing to note here though is that spells of same type as potions WILL overwrite potions (and vice versa, FIFO). So potions are really meant for instances where you know you are not going to have buffs of a certain type.

Anyway, to witness the popularity of potions an Alchemist only has to post a stack to the AH. This is where the boon comes in. See, a tailor has to compete with item drops on the AH.. luckily, alchemists don't have to compete with spell drops. I just sold 6 stacks of Swiftness Potions for 60s each.. and they sold in less than an hour. I could have probably gone as high as 80s easily, maybe even 1g.. the sky was technically the limit as there were no other swiftness potions on there.

Anyway, I am tired and have rambled. The point is that tailoring is not THE way to go, it is A way to go. I don't for a second regret taking alchemy and herbalism though. about the only thing I wasn't counting on is that I have to keep my fishing skill going as well as a number of potions and reagents require fish.

Thats severely downplaying tailoring. The fact is, much of the very best cloth gear (or any armor for that matter) is crafted, my friends lvl 44 priest wears lots of self made stuff to supplement the cool beans stuff he gets from instances. Not to mention, 14 slot bags (which he makes a bundle off of on the auction house) and so forth.

Alchemy is great, Tailoring is great, neither is better.

Is it possible to "successfully" do both?

You really need Herbalism if you want to do Alchemy without having to constantly barter for ingredients, so it would be hard to have Alchemy and Tailoring as your two professions.

BAH! A decision needs to be made in the next few days then. :/

Too bad In Por Ylem (the GREAT free UO server) was shut down. :(

I may have to get this, but I don't think my laptop can handle this beast. Is there a performance tester available for this?

Tailoring has no "collection" skill associated with it, its primary resource (various forms of cloth) are dropped by humanoid mobs around the game world. So you can do Tailoring successfully with any other skill as your secondary. Alchemy on the other hand requires herbs for all of its recipies, herbs you can only get through the herbalism skill. While its possible to do it without herbalism, it would cost you a lot of money buying all your herbs in the auction house all the time.

Its a tough choice, but really both are good skills.

Unfortunately, /drink does not make your character take a drink from the equipped mug. It just goes away and you see the canned emote :(

Holy shit, saitoh! Where did you get that pirate hat!? I'd like to know where to get an eye patch also.

Yar! From the booty bay pirates ...

Damn, Palsy, you're 40+ already? What is your current level? Also, how much did your mount cost? Is it an undead mount and was it 90g after discount?

Uni, we only have roaches (conventionally available) unless you have a collector's edition pet.

Also, the third auction house is in Gadgetzan.

Aliance have Cats (crazy cat lady outside of Stormwind), Bunnies and some bird. Horde have Roaches, Prarrie Dogs and something else.

I'm at work but does anyone have any screens of stuff they did for the holidays, the patch notes said soemthing about decorations. and soem suprises.

I'm loving this game....I'm becoming alt happy though. So far i got

NE Rogue
NE Hunter (main)
NE Warrior (fem)
NE Warrior (male)
Gnome Wizard
Human Warlock
Dwarf Pali

The only thing thats annoying it redoing the same thing quest wise over and over. I traveled to the Abby but I don't like that lay out of the human start point. too much back and forth treks. So my newer characters arer either in Dolinar or in the Iron Forge area.

Christmas hits WoW!!!

This is the scene currently at Ironforge Bank / Auction House (Shattered Hand server)

Blizzard fucking owns!

:lol :lol :lol

You can also buy new recipes (egg nog and ginger bread mix) and snowballs. (people are having snowball fights all over the place) :lol :lol

I liked the reward for the Christmas cookies. 10 copper bars :)

Shame the Europeans servers will be reset. I reckon that the recipe, and holiday spices/*water thingy* will get a nice sum in about 6 months ;)

I was corperate scum... all the little kiddies didnt know where to get Gingerbread cookies, so I made over 100 and sold them in groups of 5 (to complete the quest) for 1.5 gold at the AH. I've made so much money off this.
:lol :lol

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

OMG hahaha. Idiots!!

I put my 10 copper bar in the AH as well. And as usual with a 1 silver starting bid (lowest starting bid, 1 gold buyout, seemed to be the norm with the others)

It got sold for a lousy 1.84 silver :/

Gonna see how many swoops are going to drop eggs. May be a good business :D

I just went to darnasses for about 40-50 minutes and killed owls. What a great pay-off. Idiots... :lol :lol :lol

Also, just for a joke I bought the Egg Nog recipe from the vendor (20 silver) and I put it on the AH for 4g and someone actually bought it. :lol :lol :lol

Someone shouted out: Razzic (me) should be arrested for price gouging! :lol
