Is there a list of GAF WoWers somewhere?

Haven't played since early Panda-land, my dude's on Blackrock but I don't know many folks there.

I'm getting close to breaking down and playing this one. I really want to experience the lore, but without the ability to raid I dunno if I'll be able to keep interest.

mhmm, is the garrison inn as good as it seems? I had great rewards for the daily dungeon quests today. at least for leveling it seems to be worth it.

and something else, is is worth it to send your companions on missions? most of them seem only to reward bonus companion xp, and the missions cost a lot of garrison ressources that could be uses for upgrading.

The new raid finder makes raiding infinitely easier. Are you able to find time to queue up for battlegrounds or 5-man dungeons? If the answer is yes, then you can do raid finder as well.

Does anyone know if you can still do the iron horde invasion questline (pre-expansion) after the first expansion quests?

I resubbed and in all my enthusiasm I went right through the portal instead of doing the quests leading up there.

Got some rare missions last night, and one epic one (with a 9 hour timer) that rewarded Garrison resources and a ilvl555 belt.

I was also curious about this. One of the reasons i stopped playing years ago was i could no longer commit to hardcore raiding in the evenings, and missed out on too much content.

Can even a fairly casual player experience all the content now then? And is it dumbed down to a point where you can faceroll it even on the LFR difficulties or is there still some strategy needed?

I've really been enjoying this one. I know other people and other realms have had more issues but I've been going really good with with two of my friends. We made it to 97 the first day.

My only real complaint gameplay wise is that the dungeons ilvl feels a little too high. Myself and one of my friends are raid gear the other guy is a 90 boosted. We have to wait almost a full extra level to do the dungeons so his ilvl can be there. I mean the new ones are cool but they are still really easy so it seems a little crazy.

I also wish my super cool lvl 100 BM hunter talent wasn't dmg buff but hey what can you do. Really good so far.

You can't faceroll it initially. But generally LFR is much easier than regular raiding and requires little communication. It's perfect for a smart, casual player(smart enough to not stand in bad things and to kill adds).

There is still some strategy, but it's usually only one or two things like "kill adds, avoid the beam" type stuff that people learn pretty quickly. Still, it was usually better to do the tougher LFRs on a Tuesday since most of the better players were running them then!

Great, thanks.

One other question - what's up with rolling these days? I ran Bloodmaul Slag Mines last night and i didn't even get to roll on most of the drops.

Dungeon loot is personal now, there's no rolling, you have to loot it off the boss.

If you forget to loot it (like I always do), it gets sent to your mailbox.

Got to play until lvl 92 before going to College. So far i really like waht i'm seeing. In terms of leveling it beats Cata and MoP easily.

I was in a dungeon yesterday and everyone was getting drops but all I was getting was gold even when I looted stuff. Is there something that causes this?

literally ALL of the content. yes.

and not only is there LFR, but also Normal (previously flex) raiding, that allows raiding to scale from 10-30 players. So if you can find a decent server group that raids regularly.. and IIRC, flex raiding still works on the boss lockout system, not Raid ID. so typically you will just be able to find a guild or group running raids for cash (gold). Mind you this is on top of LFR.. so you can run LFR each week for the LFR tier gear, and then if you want find a flex raid to run for the week for normal tier gear.

the only "content" you would miss are the heroic and mythic raid tiers of gear, which are usually just palette swaps of the LFR and Normal tiers.

yes, RNG hates you. :P Seriously though, it was happening in place of the old way, which is you just lose rolls on all of it. The difference is now you never even see the roll. If you "win" it just means you see loot. If you "lose", you just see gold. The only big deal with this way is that if someone wins a duplicate item they already have, they can't be generous and give it away. The upside though is none of the awful shit that used to happen.

Just RNG.

I did it on my DK got nothing the whole run, I did it on my rogue, got something off almost every boss.

RNG

Sometimes you get loot, sometimes just gold. If you ever miss anything it will be mailed to you, I believe this includes trash mobs as well.

What a fucking shock, 12 est and maintenance has been extended indefinitely. Can I put a ticket in to get them to comp me for the fucking day off work I'm wasting?

Auchindoun EU, the server to which I was basically planning to transfer to if this shit wasn't fixed within three days, has in those three days turned from an easygoing medium population fun server into a locked, full-population, 500-people-queue hellhole.

What's the new Auchindoun?

This launch is completely unacceptable, people pay a premium to be able to play and coming home from work you have to queue for 3 HOURS! You'd think after a decade they would have the data, skill and experience to be able to anticipate the demand for this expansion.

Fuck Blizzard.

Tried logging into my main server in the morning and was greeted with a very long queue. Log in to the server I transferred to and immediately got to character selection. I might have fun during the weekend after all :D

Was able to finally login and play 5 hours after I started trying last night. Starting stuff is fun and helps setup the story nicely. Unlocked the garrison (still no idea what it's doing though) and did a few quests after that.

Not being able to fly is soooooo nice.

OK I'm usually pretty forgiving with server issues, doesn't matter how much stress test you do but it's impossible to predict the real life situation. But this is just ridiculous, especially coming from blizzard, they got more server infrastructure and technology than most other game companies if not all.

Apparently they are being DDOSed. Either way I still can't turn in quests and I am not logging off otherwise there'll be a huge queue.

Every English EU server is "locked". Does that mean every single one of them has a queue right now? There are some French and German servers that aren't full, so I don't think they've locked all servers manually somehow.

So glad I didn't call into work sick today like I was planning. Oh well. Its no big deal but I only had 2 days of playtime yet and I wanted to atleast try it before I had to pay for another month.

Can't play MCC, can't play WoW. It's my free week before I have to start prepping for exams. =/

This sucks and I don't even feel like playing anything else since I was so excited for this.
