They had such a great Blizzcon and I bet a few people who play Hearthstone that had thought about playing WoW. This is a bad first impression for anyone new to the game.

pretty sure they've never comped service since literally launch. then again, I don't think connectivity has ever been this bad since launch.

edit - looking at my account I see that's not true.. I got one day credits in late 2005, 2006 and 2009.. and that's not including the 7 days worth of credits they handed out between launch and Jan 2005.

I remember getting 2 days for something back during BC and again in Wrath. Can't remember why but wasn't anything to do with a launch. EU server

on the topic of WoW... if they ever let you manage your garrison from the mobile app... oh man.. that would be so awful. work productivity dropping through the floor.

This is officially worse than vanilla launch. At least with Vanilla a couple days after I was in and playing

either you are remembering it through rose tinted glasses.. or you are just making shit up.

vanilla launch was AWFUL

4.6k queue on sarg and last night i had around 8k on illidan

Glad this maintenance kicked me off so I have to wait again, it's a pretty cool game

Yeah, no it's not.

For me it is, I've been able to play for about 3 hours in 2 days. Vanilla launch got me more although I wasn't able to log in the first day at all, at least here I got to log in for an hour before I got kicked off. This is still a worse experience to me

the high pop realms like tich, area 52, and stormrage are dog shit right now. 2100 queues less than 2 minutes after realms come back up, and all of these people actually WANT to play, so the queues aren't going down.

Yeah, they gave out a decent amount back in vanilla, looking at my account I have 21 comped days from 2005/2006.

Renewed 3 days ago after a 2 years hiatus to see the changes and play some Pandaria. Don't even own Draenor and I'm 2406 in queue.

I just want to click on things.

Seems like no matter what MMO I want to play when it comes out more time is spent waiting to play than actually playing. FF14, Wildstar, WoD, I understand for a new game but I feel like they should be a little more prepared for this.

2 hours... 2 hoiurs...

i odsn't even know what to do naymore

Oh man you clearly don't remember vanilla launch then. They had to pull the physical box from retail shelves for two weeks to stop people from buying it and bringing it home and clogging up the servers until things stabilized.

I got in to play on my high pop server last night from 10:30 pm. On day 1.

The two launches aren't even comparable.

not even impressed

Yeah except back then, WoW was a relative unknown and server capacity was a technological issue. These days it's unacceptable for a launch like this, especially with the resources they have. Just because it was smooth for you doesn't mean every person who can't get in and play should be summarily dismissed.

Really dumb. Upgraded to the new iphone, forgot to take a screenshot of my authenticator info.

I had one in my old icloud photos but I can't find it now.

Can't even get a ticket through to them ATM, I'm not going to play for weeks damn.

And even then, at the time at least, it was probably the smoothest MMORPG launch yet.

the original statement was "this is worse than vanilla" and it isn't. the reasons may be different, but vanilla was much worse.

lag
connectivity
queues
server rollbacks
game bugs (falling through world, spell camping through world, etc)
no guards anywhere causing quest givers to be continually dead

and none of this is even touching GAMEPLAY that brought with it more problems. spawn camping, lack of quest hubs.. so so so much grinding.. slow leveling (while grinding)

so does this suck? yes. should they maybe have pulled this off better? maybe. is it as bad as what we had to endure in 11/2004? Not even close.

Don't you have SMS authentication setup? Every iphone upgrade I just remove my old authenticator, I have to authenticate the removal with SMS, then add the new one.

Hah, I wasn't even the first guy to reach 100 in our guild. I took a couple of breaks and slept both nights.

We're at 3 100s atm, the lucky few who didn't have class the next on thursday so were able to get 100 quickly without the whole queue.
I doubt I'll be able to even get in within the next 8 hours

The queue for Drak'thul EU is progressing slowly enough for me to go "what happened this year?" for each number. At least it's progressed past "what happened this year in my life?".

Been sitting in stormrage queue for over an hour.

This is worse than vanilla's launch at this point. How could they have fumbled this so badly? Thinking I should let my sub lapse on the 17th, play dragon age, smash bros then come back a week later and maybe they'll have this sorted...

Better than getting the "Character Not Found" error :/
