World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor | Launch Thread

75th spot in the queue after 3 and a half hours, world servers go down, and Area 52 locked again. Wohn wohn.

Is this why my position in queue hasn't moved in 15 mins? 931 and it says estimated time < 1 minute.

I guess I'll just leave it alone and hope for the best...

Utterly unacceptable. Developers in general this year have been pushing busted ass shit out the door upon us gamers and it'll hopefully bite them in the ass.

This game is flat out broken right now, blizzard should be ashamed of themselves. This is the first xpac that has been like this ever in WoW. Disgusting.

Besides the server being as busy as they will ever be for the next year or two. And they were targetted by a DDoS attack. Personally I don't hold the same expectation from MMOs product launch and regular game.

To be fair, it's a terrible combination of a number of things:

-DDoS Attacks
-Huge number of people trying to get in/are in.
-Servers have reduced max population caps to ease stress (which in turned has locked out most of the servers).
-Servers taking huge dumps (again b/c of a combination of the above stuff).
-Typical Launch Issues (re: Vanilla, MoP, etc.)

Some of that is nothing new, but it still sucks.

oh sweet summer child. You just proved you don't remember Vanilla launch.

But yes, this is the worst since BC probably. Pandaria was much better than this.

I was there for the vanilla launch, and every xpac except for pandaria, and it has never been this bad. Queues after vanilla launch before they added a ton of servers, but nothing so bad as being unable to get into a queue to even wait. The login servers are getting hammered, and this DDoS nonsense isn't helping matters. I don't put the blame 100% at blizz's feet, but something needs to be done for the community when the game is completely unplayable for the vast majority of players.

In other words, I'm going to sleep. Good luck to whoever sticks it out.

Right to correct what I said earlier, you could LOG IN during Vanilla....but things werent so peachy when you did.

At least I got to turn in the garrison establishment quest before my server exploded!

While I missed Pandaria at launch, I haven't seen an expansion launch this bad since BC. Cataclysm and Wrath were great!

Well some retard is always going to pull that crap.

Anyways, I've played the expansion for about 4 hours... talk awesome entry zone (Shadowmoon). That brings back memories....

Love it so far.

I did say "Xpac" aka expansion, vanilla had it's issues and they're well documented. BC wasn't really this bad from what I remember. I mean, the game is flat out broken most of the time. From bugged quests, to server issues, and if they really are being DDoS'd.

By far the worst experience in an expansion for this game.

Then again, like I said, quality control this past year has been thrown out the window by developers really screwing us the consumer big time. I really feel like we're being taken advantage of anymore.

After 18 hours of being stuck and not being able to do much stuck at the garrison Turalyon EU just went down, came back up and Garrison is now solo phased! :O Have they...fixed it?

Actually managed to get in for a few hours with no issues (until the servers died).
Boy, that first quest line was nuts. And I can see myself having a lot of fun with Garrisons.
I wanna keep playing damn it!

Yeah I got up to level 92. Did the first dungeon (wich was unbelievably easy, wich is normal the healer was probably decked out I chain AoE pulled his mana did not much except on two pulls were it took almost all my cooldowns)

I did not think I would enjoky the Garrissons as much as I did so far.

I've been checking, then going to do something else and saying "Surely it will be working when I get back" going on like 12 times now.
I'm pretty patient with launches but this is getting aggravating. I hope we get some kind of compensation like a week of free time, but it probably won't happen.

Can't even connect to my server in order to get into a queue.

Seems to be a common theme. I don't play WoW but my wife took today and tomorrow off to play and she's more or less been fighting the que. I'm just more surprised Blizzard wasn't prepared for this after how many expansions? 4? Even in the event of DDoS(which I'm not convinced it isn't just from regular joe trying to play) they have the money to invest in proper hardware and/or techs to get the job done. It's embarrassing for Blizzard. Granted this will be fixed within a few days and won't mean much in the long run, I'm just surprised it's happened. Again. Again.

Edit: Blizzard must have read my post and flipped the switch. You're welcome guys.

The DDoS from the pricks doesn't help. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave a day or a few days as compensation.

so is this only in US servers? a friend of mine on ED said he was playing fine this morning, I saw in the blizzard friend list thing he was in the spires of arak area

Blizzard has a very good track record with giving free time for issues like this. They've done it in the past and they'll probably do it here too.

This is the most frustrating launch for me. Over seven hours have been dedicated to the loading screen because of the insane queue times and disconnects. You'd think after 10 years Blizzard would get it together.

I played from 9 AM EST to 4 pm and there was not even an iota of lag/crash. And then it started.

Wife is waiting on lightbringer - takes her down to less than one minute then moves to 300. I am sitting around trying to get halo matches going. The future is dogshit.

I can't get in. if I get lucky I get the game to connect to the server but then the game just sits on a black screen with the connected word, forever.

Edit: funny, in now haha.

Area 52 queues working again. Seem pretty stable, position numbers actually going down not up, currenlty 1449 in queue and 28 min wait time.

I don't get it. I'm on one of the biggest servers (Tichondrius) so I expected queues. But I played Pandaria launch week and had 1-2 hours queues first few days. Nothing like this. And subscribers have only gone down right? WTF.

Did they just over slash how many servers they have or something?

Good news is I logged in 9pm last night, so played midnight til about 5am. Slept, got up 7 hours later. I log in to see my queue spot is 4500 or so, but then a minute later a server DC knocks everyone off including queuers and I manage to log right in LOL.

Thanks to that stroke of good luck, managed to get to level 94 after another 3 hours of play today. Gonna call it a day and go out with my GF. Good luck to you all! Hope it's better by tomorrow...

Subs were actually up heading into WoD. That was about a month out. It's clear that subs have gone up considerably.
