Worst this gen Game You've actually finished

Not having any money to buy myself any of the new great games that just came out (SC:CT, God of War, DMC3, Jungle Beat), I've resorted to thining down my backlog, of which BREAKDOWN and many others. Breakdown is one peice of shit. The most redunded level design you'll ever see (and you'll rerun most parts twice thanks to the "kickass" storyline), the worst camera, the most broken gameplay mechanic for an action game I've ever seen, some horrible emphasis on platforming in some parts of the game, the crappiest characters, the worst script and no, the story is NOT good, it's NOTHING we haven't seen before and it's UTHERLY forgettable and full of loop holes.

If you ever see Breakdown in the bargain bin, even for 1.99$, DO NOT PICK IT UP unless it's to spit on the box cover. Do not ever attempt at playing this or you might get sucked into the story, hoping it'll get better when it never does, causing you heeps of frustration and wasted hours.

This is really Namco's breakdown.

On the bright side, I just got a job.

hah, I couldn't finish Breakdown, it was so bad. WTF was up with XBN giving it glowing praise? i never understood that.

I would say the worst game this gen i finished was probably blinx 1.

Umm I don't think I've finished any bad games actually.

The worst one I've finished would probably be Blood Omen 2, though I sorta enjoyed it.

Luigi's mansion

True story: I bought Luigi's Mansion new in Akihabara for 980 yen, beat it in a weekend, and sold it back to a game store in Kiryu for 1480 yen.

Considering how awful the game was, I felt like Nintendo paying me 500 yen was pretty justified.

MGS2. I saw it through out of morbid curiosity in how much pain I could subject myself to while maintaining consciousness.

Hidden Invasion - suck it down bitches! My testicles have more rusty nails pounded in them than yours! :lol

Christ that game was awful, but it was so stupid I was compelled by a higher force to complete it.

I've bee pretty good with not finishing games I dislike, this gen

I'd like to say Luigi's Mansion--not because I think the game is crap...but meerly because I finished it and don't consider it to be as good as the others I finished. I'm sure there was a horrible game that I finished this gen...one just hasn't come to mind yet.

Animal Crossing and World of Warcraft.

This post is funny because you can't actually finish either game (well in AC's case it's like 30 years or something, right) so I guess that was the point ;)

On the other hand, if there was a way I could classify my playtime with Animal Crossing as "finishing the game" then I would because AC is easily the worst game I've played this gen.

If I find a game to be really bad, I almost cetainly won't finish it, but here's the worst of the what I did finish.

Enter the Matrix (Xbox)
Hunter: The Reckoning (Xbox)
Resident Evil Zero (GC)
Resident Evil Dead Aim (PS2)
Vampire Night (PS2)
Silent Storm (PC) <- I loved the core game, but it straight broke two thirds in, and I still finished it.

Far Cry would be in there but luckily my old vid card started overheating and saved me from ever playing further.

However, there was no game whose end I enjoyed less than Halo 2. Still pissed off about it.

Fucking Majora's Mask (it counts since it's on the Zelda collector's disk). I didn't quite beat it as I got the Ganon's final transformation, got bored and quit.

j/k

Toss up between The Bouncer and Death By Degrees for me. I can certainly think of games that are so abyssmal these two titles could be considered A+ games in comparison, but the thread is about games that have been finished. :)

Props to anyone that actually was able to finish Red Ninja, but that crap is so bad I bet even reviewers never bothered to complete it.

At first I couldn't remember actually finishing any games I didn't like.

Then it hit me, not only a shitty game I finished but a game with arguably 2 of the worst levels in the history of video games.

I can't think of any genuinely bad games I've finished. The weakest that comes to mind is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for GC -- that was actually a pretty good rental, though...

Throw another log onto the fire of Blood Omen 2. I'm going to have to also bring up the original Champions of Norrath. I actually beat that game 1 1/2 times before it hit me that it was simply a square tapping exercise. However, by far the worst goes to one of Bungie's own creations...

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

I never thought I'd come accross a game that is as tedious as Donkey Kong 64. I was wrong. I couldn't wait to be finished with it so that I would never have to play it ever again. The constant back-and-forths through the game world and the endless item fetch quests almost made me go crazy.

MGS2:S

I don't complete games I truly hate though. MGS2 just happens to be the least best one. :P
Exact same except I beat the original PS2 version the week it came out. MGS2 was a special case since it happened to be the best of the worst games I played so I trudged through it to see it through the end.

SFA is another gem that I don't ever want to repeat, ugh.
