A new company pops up and offers a TV + Movie streaming service who's focus is on creating writer led entertainment on a small budget.

Their mission statement is something like "We don't believe in CGI or high priced actors. We're hunting down the best writers in the medium and we're giving struggling actors/actresses a chance to showcase their talent."

Would this peak your interest at all? I feel like the larger a budget is for a TV/movie the less interested it I become. I can't be alone right?

A streaming service has to provide quite a lot of content to be attractive, otherwise it's not much of a service...

A new company like that would be better of selling their product to an existing service rather than making their own.

Not interested in a video platform for writers. Writers are only one component of a good movie. And if I want to read the work of struggling writers who can't get real gigs there's always self-published nonsense that plagues Amazon Prime.

I don't care about the model or mission statement of a streaming platform.

The quality of the content is literally all that matters.

The best movies / tv shows and series i saw where low budget ones or looking low budget ones. It's simplistic shit where actors are just great, or even real life people are the actors.

For example some guy stands at the airport and just interviews waiting people at the airport and talk about there lives until there loved ones arrive, the story's u hear are absolutely amazing. Zero budget, incredible tv.

I call movies of this caliber u are talking about sunday movies, low costing movies, that relay on talent and they have always been great entertainment.

I would totally go for it.

The whole pitch for Netflix as they grew was that they were totally hands-off and let the people making the shows/movies do what they want. The fact that Netflix is utterly horrible now, well, I won’t connect the dots here.

That’s still what they do, but maybe they shouldn’t?

If it were done right, I’d consider it. Depends on how it’s organized and promoted. It also won’t get off the ground without a couple bangers

Sounds like Made for TV movies the service. I guess it could be cool. I would probably prefer bad writing and bad acting service.

Sounds like a breeding ground for wankers and also a massive flop
