Would you like to see SSX on PSP?

I just rented NFL Street Unleashed from gamefly and I'm impressed. Most of the core gameplay mechanics are intact, and graphically it's almost a replica of the console version. I'm positive that EA could have that same team port SSX 3 over and have similar results, not to mention the awesome soundtrack.

Theres an N-Gage SSX game. Was that any good? Looking back on a lot of the old PS Snowboard games, they're pretty crap compared to SSX3 :) If the N-Gage version played anything like SSX3, I'd love a DS port.

I did enjoy the demo of Steep Slope Sliders on the Saturn, but now I remember the characters moving like planks of wood :\

Yes and No.

Yes, it's one of the 3 great games/series EA published in their entire history (Marble Madness and Archon being the other two), and easily one of my top 10 favourite games this generation.
And no, NFS was never great, it was just a cheap ripoff of TestDrive (the TestDrive when it was good, not TestDrive later).

No, because I don't really want to buy another EA game, and on PSP there wouldn't be any way to get a... backup copy. :P

Just once I want one of these "Would you...?" threads to be like...

"Would you like to see X game on X platform?"

*clicks thread*

"WELL HERE YOU ARE, IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED. FIRST PICS ARE HERE!"

I'm totally over Burnout, but I'd LOVE to have an SSX Tricky (not a fan of SSX3's short courses) on PSP with 4 player WiFi. That would completely rule.

Yes. I'd love a PSP version of SSX, preferably not a port, but something new.

SSX 3's short courses? I suppose at the beginning when you were still opening up the runs, but once you had the mountain opened up, they were anything but short. Although, I did enjoy Tricky's variety of courses, and most of them were very long.

To be more specific what would you prefer?

A port of SSX3 or a new entry similar to EA's work with NFSU:Rivals.

I'd prefer a new entry with the depth and variety of SSX3. If possible. But I would be very happy with a port as I consider it one of the best games this gen.

I keep thinking this would be cool too, but then I think if it would play with only two shoulder buttons. The game is built around 4 shoulder buttons, and it's totally crippled on the GameCube thanks to that. Imagine how much worse it would be if you could only use two triggers instead of three or four.

Um, the very first Need for Speed, for the 3DO, was made by the guys who did the original Test Drive I and II for Accolade back in the late 80s, Don Mattrick and Brad Gour. They started Distinctive Software in 1982, sold it to EA in 91 where it eventually became EA Canada. Mattrick is still at EA now, as some higher up in the company.

You have the right idea, good sir!

Even though the PS2 launch didn't have any HUGE launch titles, I still have fond memories of taking a chance on SSX... and being completely blown away.

I'd love to have SSX on PSP, but am more anxious for SSX4 (?) for a possible PS3 launch *drool*

I've mentioned this basic theme as something I find interesting about PSP. Many people complained of the button deficiency, and many developers let it become a problem due to GameCube ports being afterthoughts. It will be interesting to see if PSP versions will be even more problematic, or whether they'll bother to find better ways to work around these issues.
