I died 4 times in Uldaman when I did it a couple days ago. I died on the last boss right before he died (and after the tank/druid died) as the small horde of helpers focused on me next. I died twice pulling aggro off the druid (I'm soul linked but some of those mobs were hitting me for 200 each time and they were dual wielding). And the worst one, I died while running back the party after a death as I got attacked by two ambushers while I was at 1/2 health with the imp out (and little mana).

That run sucked. It's really hard as a lock when there are 6 mobs to fight at one time and you have a tank and a rogue targeting and killing one in maybe 6-8 seconds.

edit: Shards make the Tarren Mill / South Shore raids even worse than they already are. I respawn, summon the fel, bandage, run to the lines, and if I get too close to the front I'm immediately rooted by a druid and then the 35 night elf hunters standing in a line all aimed shot me. If the sides ever approach even the horde drive the alliance all the way back to SS but most of the time they have a 2-1 advantage.

Haha, our run consisted of me(46 Warlock), 44 Warlock, 41 Priest and 41 Warrior. Before the final boss we got a 60 Rogue from the guild for backup and add killing, hah. Wiped the first time trying it when our priest ran out of mana. Got the boss to 1% before I died, lol. Second time, priest was killed at around the 30% mark. The Rogue ended up tanking and I started going into turbo Shadow Bolt mode, killed him after I had to pop a healthstone AND a potion. Was a close close close victory but we were understandably happy. And then the ring that dropped was 50 Armor 8 Int 8 Sta and I won the roll against the other Warlock:P

I <3 my build

I'm 21 Destruction, 21 Demonology and the rest in Affliction. Any build that doesnt include Fel Domination sucks imo

Well that and Death Coil.

I haven't been able to track it down yet, but any info on what tailoring is needed for the first soulshard bag?

lvl 260 Tailoring is needed for the bag. 6 rune bolts, 4 rugged leather, 2 ichor of undeath and a rune thread, I believe.

3 new bags added. The first one is a 20-slot bag, all soul shards automatically go to it, and the icon has a number on it for the number of soul shards, like an ammo back. First pattern is in Gadgetzan, then there's one that drops in Scholo and finally one in Molten Core.

Read the patch notes, goober:P
Off-topic, but are you a Matt Jones fan? I'm just curious since I'm from Arkansas and therefore an MJ fan by default. On-topic, I just finished installing the update and reading everything that was changed. It looks like they did some slight nerfing to just about every class, but nothing too bad from what I could tell. My druid kind of got the shaft, though.

affliction rox u lolz shut up :(
I everytime I respec I go less and less affliction, all I really miss is shadow mastery, CoEx, and the concentration talent for getting shards.

I think I may be able to get two shards per mob with my current build though (unless they fixed it since the last test realm build).

Hey I'm a Jag fan, I like what I've seen from him so far this year. Think he's caught 5 TDs so far, outshining our first rounder from last year, lol. He gives me hope:) But man, the Jags have picked up a ton of Arkansas fans this year, he, he brings his Hogs with him it seems.

Linked Auction Houses & Multiple Battleground Queues are much needed.

I'm out now until the Expansion but this makes me mant to play now... =(

MAF, you can't *seriously* be implying that somehow Warlocks are gimped. Christ, they're like my antithesis (well, them and Druids).

Anyhow, my Mage got nothing but buffs this patch. Couldn't be happier. Now if they'll just fix Blink...

I was the same way, until I arrived at my current 30 demo / 21 destruction spec. I might change it although once I have a chance to check out how the curse of shadows nerf affects ruin. If my crit value is way down like I think it will be, I will probably go to a 7/31/13 build.

Haha nice Something Awful article.

Hoping to go full-on back to WoW, reckon I should roll a Horde character on Gilneas?

I hope the Enrage nerf pisses off enough Warriors that they quit the game and my level 60 character won't be such a big fish anymore when I start playing again. Warriors recently overtook rogues as the most played class in the game. :(

Anyway, to casters that don't understand how it works... warriors with a PVP-oriented spec will only hit you for 125% damage Mortal Strikes instead of 140%.

WTF. Did Blizzard power up paladins AGAIN?

If there was any class that needed to be powered up it SURE WASN'T PALIS
You should play one to see how boring and skill-less it is (if you already haven't). Paladins needed a change. They're not powered up as much as they're just more varied and playable and don't rely on warrior crit gear to give them unpredictable dps surges.

Also, why are you surprised by this news? The patch has been in open beta for months and has had updates and the actual new talent tree on Paladins since then on the main page of WOW, and most likely you've seen it talked about in-game.

Didn't know since I stopped play WoW for weeks until recently when i rolled a new character. And Barrens chat isn't a place that I read very often ;)

I have a DS/Ruin build, i.e. 7 - Affliction, 21 Demonology and 23 Destruction. I wouldn't mind having Soul Link, but I do like the awesome burst damage destruction builds can give you; that along with +dam gear and an imp like a machine gun can put out some pretty awesome damage in instances.

=Ikse]I don't have a point in Affliction :/

No insta-corruption or life tap? Tsk tsk.

Some major bugs:

Banish doesn't work in MC (it banishes them but they still attack, but are immune).
Berserkers in ZG cause you to crash when they fear.
Lvl 60's somehow get into low level WSG's (seen pictures of lvl 60 in a 20-30 lvl WSG)

Lots of other nasty bugs trickling in too.

That sounds very good Blizzard.

Downloading the patch now myself. I hope there's some more cool armor sets for a mid level Hunter. I want some purty matching armor sets but not so scantily clad =(.

New checkboxes arriving automatically checked is bad software design. "WTF? Where is my CTMod? What is this goofy patronizing during loading?" Blech.

PS: I want my mountain goating back.

It was nice to see the Arcanist set bonuses get a total reworking, because they were absolute balls before the change.

They didn't fix that? It has been listed as a problem since the test realm went live. This is going to be a major problem for the hell packs in BWL. Those enraged felguards are a bitch.

ugh prices on shattered hand AH are sky rocketing 10 gold for a 20 stack runecloth bandages

and all these rewards will pretty much kill the 10-54 green item economy (good for alts, bad for newbies I guess)

:lol @ that SA article.

Note the Paladin changes :lol

Due to extensive feedback from Players, weÂ’ve deleted the Paladin forums. All posts that concern Paladins in the other forums will be treated as moderator/developer sass, and the poster will be banned.

You have to either download the updated version, or turn on "out of date addons" in addons. Also you can turn off those "tips" in the options menu. I'm leaving them on for comedy.

That "banish does not work" stuff wasn't really true, as we banished mobs last night without incident. Maybe we were lucky?

My guild ran ZG last night and all of our clients crashed 5 times against Berserkers. Looks like it's either an issue with fear or thunderclap. Judging by posts on the forums, it's happening to a lot of other guilds as well.

What do you mean by 'AGAIN'? Paladins have seen nothing but solid nerfs since Beta, when they were actually a class worth playing. (When the strike system was still in place over this shitty seal system.)

If there was any class that needed to be buffed it WAS paladins: Minimal to no DPS, uncontrollable burst damage based entirely upon luck, numerous judgements and seals that are utterly useless (For example: 82 max damage on the target from a Command judgement...when STUNNED. :lol ), useless talents that do little to 'specialize' a paladin in any given tree as originally intended, reduced to ranged heal/cleanse-bots in ALL high end instances, and the outright inability to tank when not in undead instances because the seal intended as a 'taunt' wasn't backed by enough holy damage to hold aggro.

Luckily the majority of these problems were fixed with this patch. (Although some Paladins will tell you otherwise). But really, if you didn't play a Paladin pre-1.9, you don't know how outright frustrating WoW can be. :lol

I wasn't on the ruin, b ut my guild went through ZG. They somehow managed to get past the berserker crash problem. But Hakkar fight has totally been changed, supposably they didn't fair well against him.

Yeah, I heard Hakkar is no longer the pinata he used to be.

Our ZG run was going well yesterday but the berzerker crash bug put the kibosh on that, even though we were doing really well and on our way to the Bloodlord.

They buffed Venoxis as well (snake boss) - his holy chain attack killed our main tank with over 23K damage. But a quick strategy change allowed us to take him down the second time.

Really? The only thing we noticed about Venoxis was that he's a little bigger. :\

Ordinarily the rest of the raid would stand far enough away so his holy wrath that hits multiple people would only hit the MT and do minimal damage. But this time he was hitting people from over 30 yards away - which he never did before. That person was close enough enough to other people that the holy wrath would bounce to other people, and it would cause massive amounts of damage.

We split the raid into three groups, so that it would only hit one group and not reach high damage.

The Gates "quest" (sorry, world event) is going to take AGES to happen. Is it random items that were asked for on each side/server? On Horde/Moonrunner, 2 of the cooking items are "Lean Wolf Steak" and "Spotted Yellowtail"... both of which have recipies availiable from only 1 vendor that are limited (1) and have a 24 hour timer. As such, even though other things are in the thousands, "lean wolf steak" is still at 40 / 90 000, and yellowtail is somewhere similar. BRUTAL!

I think this is a really cool quest with the idea that lowbies can turn in all sorts of harvested tradeskill items and get some magic gear, but the problem is that they dont want to do that; they would rather put the stuff up for sale on the AH for exorbitant amont of gold, thinking its easy money. Half of that doesnt sell though, because the gear and rep rewards that high level players (the kind who can afford to drop 8 gold on stack of magecloth, etc) get just arn't worth the money to them. They would, in fact, be great for the lowbies who proffer these things on the AH, but not as great as the percieved gold :D

400 000 runecloth bandages. Oh man.
