1 day 16 hours to go!!

right about now I'm starting to miss playonline's often-bitched-about-but-much-much-faster-and-not-leeching-off-of-the-players download scheme
Their servers are blazing fast. At least for me they were. I got 1mps+ on a few of the patches including the first one.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come from Blizzard.

dude just use the fp link

I got 415 sustained the whole time.

You guys were right. Closed beta can't play on stress test server and vice versa. Guess I'll see you all at retail :p

What server are most of you guys on, or is there just one for the final test?

I'm on east coast test server 4. Just got my Shaman to level 7 and got my first totem. This game rocks!

I guess this would be a good place to post this...

What's the reasoning for choosing two different GAF servers- one for horde, and one for alliance? Why can't we all play on the same server?

This whole thing was a fiasco. A mess. Fileplanet really dropped the ball. How long have they been around? Shouldn't they have been prepared for something huge like this? I went ahead and paid for something that I still think should be free, and then had to deal with a buggy registration system that charged me more than once, sit around and wait for my key all day with no ETA, and then finally download the game client at slow erratic speeds.

Not to mention I'm still upset at Blizzard for whoring themselves out to fileplanet in the first place.

Bleh.

What are you confused with? Do you have any questions in particular?

Just familiarising with the controls more than most. Is there like a lock on target key for attacking , stuff like that. Since WoW site is down, I was gonna read the basics guide

When you've targetted a creature and started attacking (T or a quick menu button), you keep attacking as long as you stay in range or press T again.

Once you get used to them, I find the way the default controls are set up to be perfect.

WASD to walk of course. Hold down the right mouse button as you run to look around, or hold down the left mouse button to swing your camera around your char. Use the number keys at the top of the keyboard for all your spell. Either TAB to select nearest tab, or select them with the mouse. You can right click to start melee auto-attack.

X to sit, spacebar to jump, numlock for autorun, enter to chat.

Those are your essentials. You'll get used to it :D

Getting used to it, i still keep using ffxi commands >.>

Is there a exp counter anywhere, like how much i need to get the next lvl?

Yep, it's actually on top of your spellbar. Huge looong bar that fills up with blue. If you hold your mouse over it it lets you know numerically how much XP you need.

Hmmm... I finally downloaded the entire open beta client. However, when it try to install it, it finds my old install which I'm still using for Europe beta, and starts that one up instead...

Does anyone know if I can have two different clients installed at the same time?

Durabality ~ if its 12/12 does that mean its brand spanking new?

Also, can i sell goods to any merchant npc's? Or just certain places. I have loads of candles and eq i can't use

you can sell stuff to any merchant, and of course if your durability is at the max then it's fully repaired. you can only repair at weapon/armor merchants (although this also includes bow and gun merchants).

my download finished while I was out voting, and I installed it and just watched that new intro, which is awesome. I didn't have to download any patches at all when I logged in to my account, though.

Any fileplanet subscribers out there who don't want to play stress test but will give me their key...? I know, it's a longshot, but hey! Worth a try :D

Ugh...as if I needed another game to buy in November.

I wasn't too impressed during the initial stress test many weeks back, likely because the night elf area I began in was lacking interesting quests and a viable working map, I gave up on it only 3 hours after installing.

10 levels reached in this new uber-polished version of the game, and I am so fukkin sold. I may even get the collectors edition. World rox, quests rock, skill selection rox. God this game is addictive.

ME FIRST NEWBIE!!!

Hitler must have his wow fix

Hhhmmm, I want to log in and get to 40 so I can buy a mount... But meh. Feels like I'm wasting too much time on something I'll have to start over on in a few weeks. Was so close too.

Unrelated question:

I've had thottbot.com bookmarked for ages now, and it's very nifty that site. Is that website run by Blizzard? How do they get all the info on char profiles, item drops, etc.? Is it like the Camelot Herald for DAoC?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Oh and I've gotten Kazul (Test 6 server PvP) up to level 8 with 9 coming fast, but I'm gonna retire for the night to tune into election coverage.

It's run by Thott. There's a ui mod that records all your interaction with the game world and you send in the info to create the database. That's why instead of having the exact location it's a range of all places encountered, and why all the quest info has a character name.

I've been toying with the idea of making a new thread asking for any file planet people not interested in WoW :o

I don't think that would be considered illegal...

If it is illegal, then just PM me :D

If anyone cares, I'm on server 7 (where it put me) and I'm a Tauren named Stug (lvl 10).

I'm on now, and will be on most of tonight.

Ok since this keeps coming up....

This is NOT OPEN BETA :D

Open Beta will be next week or so. This is a Fileplanet exclusive Stress Test. Fileplanet subscribers get into the beta 1 week before the rest of the world. Everyone and their grandmother can join nest week or whenever this Stress Test ends.

So NO you don't have to pay to be in beta

YES you do have to pay to be in the exclusive Fileplanet Stress Test.
