Wow...this E3 is really, really boring.

Square Enix's showing was crap.

I know FFXII isn't there (it's behind closed doors, though), but isn't everything else for the PS2 there? Dragon Warrior, Radiata Stories, Kingdom Hearts 2, FFVII action game, etc?

This seems like Square's biggest lineup ever. I know it's not next-gen stuff, but still very, very nice.

I was quite pleased with the REvolution news, myself. Frankly, the 360 and PS3 just didnt give me much of an impact. Yes,Nintendo's presentation didnt have to be done, when Nintendogs and Electroplankton. I guess its whats 'Preaching to the Wrong Audience' (Although I didnt have any interest in Electroplankton until now)

But really, its hilarious that just about the entire gaming industry is lisencing the Unreal 3 engine simply because these next set of consoles are not ready for the graphical leap we are all expecting. Granted the engine is very good and unfortunatley means Jazz Jackrabbit 3 will never be born officially. The 360 is only 2 or 3 times as powerful as a regular XBox (Hey, just like the Rev, eh?) and features VERY limited backward compatibility. The Playstation 3 means...more sequels and the crappy 3rd party titles to follow after the big names get out of the way first with sequels that....well...dont do much to push the boundaries, not to mention a pay to play online service for Sony's next system, after having a free internet service for half of the PS2's life. The Revolution meant...a more expensive iQue. Not a totally bad thing, but not that great.

If you hated this E3, you'll hate the next one. You'll be bitching about how nothing new is coming up, probably drop out of video games entirely because nothing is there to innovate or raise any kind of interest for you. The PSP will probably be seeing 60% of its entire library filled with PS2 ports. The DS being the next Game Boy (What with all these GBA games getting sequels on a 3RD PILLAR SYSTEM)

All that interested me were the number of DS titles, some Gamecube titles and the lovely complimations. Sonic Gems Collection and Midway Arcade Treasures 3 to name them off.

Seriously, what else is there that you guys want?

I agree with Alphasnake. Here I thought the unvealing of next-gen would make this the most exciting E3 in ages. But the floor is bah. I'm not even sure if I'll go tomorrow, Star Wars and good food is sounding like a better option.

Xbox360 - very little and what's there should not have been shown.
PSP - WTF, PSP is an awesome little system that I love but the game lineup is almost as lacking as the 360 and it's ALREADY OUT. Also what is there isn't very interesting.
PS2 - Pretty solid lineup, though nothing huge like last year with MGS3/GT4/GoW
Xbox - Okish, not many interesting exclusives left.
DS - WTF, DS is a stupid system but the lineup is EXCELLENT. So many great games, and I think I'm going to switch to the DS camp now :(
PC - Errr Dreamfall yay! Otherwise what's PC?

After 4 hours on the floor I'd pretty much seen/tried everything interesting and I was just getting bored. Spent the rest of the time just playing random demos.

Worst.E3.Ever.

Well if you keep up with the Japanese reviews/impressions most of that is old stuff :P

Where was Grandia 3 (I mean it's almost out!), PSP CC, any cool new PS2 projects, any cool new next-gen projects, FMO wasn't even there IIRC, and then of course no FFXII (boooo). Last year's SE booth was great and exciting. This is just old and seen before. At least KHII looked and played top-notch, that was the savior of their booth.

I gotta agree with the general sentiment here ... pretty boring show. Lots of decent gaming to be had, but very very few real standouts among playable games.

Some neat 360 stuff being demoed ... but very little playable.

The only thing that I have found interesting is the Xbox controller, Zelda, and the MGS4 announcement. Throughout E3, all I have been doing is downloading Zelda footage and play Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Join us.
It's only a matter of time before PSP finds itself alongside GameGear, Neo Geo Pocket, Lynx and Wonderswan.

And to continue on the path you meandered down earlier, where are the six or so DS games? Isn't Egg Monster Heroes confirmed for North America? Is it even on display?

when CNN doesn't even have strong coverage, you know the show is boring. Even the folks at cnn money normally pitching a lot of stuff aren't saying much.

To be honest, I don't feel like I missed much this year since so much was unplayable and video.

The reason this E3 has been so crappy is because the games were overshadowed by console unveilings and those unveiling were crap. Sony just told us that tekken 6, MGS4 and GT5 were in development, but it wasnt a surprise because everyone expected thatto happen. MS conference was load of shit apart from the controller but they seem to be showing the best games on the showfloor. Nintendo was a total disappointment. I stayed up expecting to see a great conference only for the show to be delayed and then be presented with utter crap. If their unveilings were more exiting, we wouldnt have so many complaints about how crap the show was, but thats not the case. We are left with a boring show with only a few games worth mentioning. Lets just hope next year will be better and that everyone concentartes on the games.

First of all, the XBOX 360 controller is a total copy of the Wavebird, which was introduced at E3 2002. Welcome to 3 years ago.

I was really hoping to see Mario 128. A trailer for that would have been much better than a 3rd trailer for Zelda. Ah well. Best part of the show for me was confirmation that Animal Crossing DS should be out before the end of the year.

I find it sad that my BIG E3 moments so far is the Xbox BC announcement (which means I can buy the newly announced Capcom generations, Megaman X collection, and Dynasty Warriors 4 and actually play them for more than a few months) and Winback 2.

Where was sega's PC this year? I've heard nothing outside of that 360 demo reel and the PC announcements.

First of all, my brain has fallen out.

YABADABADOOOOOOOOOOO, dribble, snort, growl etc.

urban reign is awesome.

but yeah, my problem is that even though there are some good games, its not like i wanna wait in these stupid lines to play them. They really should just make e3 media exclusive or lower the attendance for video game store fanboys.

Hear me when I tell you this gentlemen...

TGS will always be >>> E3

Next year will be better, none of this new system revealing crap.

It would have been nice if they actually pulled the veil all the way off. What we got was the first peek of flesh in a 9 month strip-tease.

minus nascar of course

:lol
It is awesome, but not enough to save this E3. Actually the sports game representation this year is quite muted. And Madden on PSP was ... rough... :(.

I'd agree with all of Bebpo's impressions.
I had such (unrealistic) high hopes coming in to this one. Three new consoles would mean lots of cool next gen stuff to check out on the floor right? Wrong. Probably gonna bail on the show for Friday.

There was some cool stuff on the floor, but I agree it wasn't blowin my mind. I found the booth chicks sittin on brothel-esque couches near the giant cybersex poster (game infinity booth) to be the most interesting thing there :p.
