This speech by Warrior's wife is equal parts heartbreaking and inspirational, but - as someone who just recently started following wrestling - I don't know much about Ultimate Warrior outside some articles I've read about how he had some rough views, like apparently being homophobic and thinking hurricane katrina was a good thing (or something along those lines). Watching this from that perspective it seems odd that they choose this character, the Ultimate Warrior, for this type of award.

Was UW actually a good dude? Again, it was pretty heartbreaking seeing his wife and daughters tonight, and I'm not at all trying to belittle their loss. I'm just curious as to why WWF would prop up someone with those types of stances.

How does keeping hands in pocket stop Bryan from crying? Is this some carny secret?
Probably because it would weird seeing him clinching his fist for 10 minutes.

Bryan looks like he wants to bounce from the E already.
Didn't he say in a interview or on wrestling road diaries is that Wrestling isn't something he was going to do for the rest of his life? Could of swore he mentioned at some point he wanted to do something else.

Nobody's perfect - for things like this it's a perfect storm of overlooking some things, downplaying others, and focusing on the good.

He made his mistakes, but he seemed to correct most of them as he got older. With age comes wisdom and what not.

Also another thing, it's a Warrior award, not a "Jim Hellwig's Creeds and Ideals Award" - huge difference between what Warrior represented in the ring as opposed to who he was.
