Every single one of you is delusional. This man keeps winning, he's got a base, and cowards running the nation.
We've seen how this goes down in history. What's likely to happen, is trump sandbags America while Russia and China expand trumps cabinets wallets. And we will blame each other in 8 years.
Because we can't block traffic if we protest.

"They were sure I'd give in to them and send the go-ahead order to the [U.S. Navy aircraft carrier] Essex. They couldn't believe that a new president like me wouldn't panic and try to save his own face. Well, they had me figured all wrong." JFK was realizing that the CIA posed a monumental threat to American democracy. As the brigade faltered, he told Arthur Schlesinger that he wanted to "splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds."
I'm not sure how to feel with this news. Even just recently the CIA spied on the Senate after a bipartisan commission was investigating the torture program of the Agency. And Obama was more than happy to bury it.
I guess we'll see. Perhaps the most positive of this is that perhaps the CIA will leak files on Trump and tank him even further in his popularity. Interesting times, I guess.

To be frank, the Russian President of the Modern Warfare universe at least seems relatively decent compared to Putin.
I can't also remember if in MW2 the President was killed in the assault in the White House.

I think, judging by inaction from most people that they think 'someone' (not them) will step in if things get really bad.

All this tells me is that this country's vitals are circling down the drain. It's the same with anti-LGBT legislation in Southern states being fought by corporations instead of the public at large or billionaires having to fund (or beg) climate change fighting programs. If we have to depend on massive multinational corporations, multi-m(b)illionaires and shady organizations that have toppled foreign governments using all sorts of illegal methods to save us from Trump and a near treasonous party then our country is utterly FUCKED.
Not to burst any bubbles, but the CIA doesn't have the clout it used to and the initial proposal is exactly what many even in the agency have been harping on for going on twenty years now:
People are setting themselves up for disappointment yet again if they think that this won't happen or that the CIA has some magical anti-Trump data drop they can unleash to protect their bureaucratic prerogatives.
That's what blows my mind. We've seen this all around the world many, many times. Our history books document and make clear the terrible results of authoritarianism. And yet here this country is just sitting around letting it happen.
The adults in the room? The media? TV media is too obsessed with ratings. Also, fake news. Congres? Ha ha ha... No.
What was even the point of the Founding Fathers' work...

What's even sadder is it's not like we're in a full blown depression with hyper inflation going on. Perhaps if we had listened to the small government people, maybe this wouldn't be as scary but the federal government and executive branch has a lot of power right now even before Trump's team weakens other institutions.

Eerily enough...some JFK files are scheduled to be de-classified this year. As long as Trump doesn't order otherwise. At least, I think it's his call.

i wouldn't be shocked if the CIA is full of fluffy jobs since they don't get audited and get constant cutbacks like other agencies, look how police world wide have been having to hire civilians/"community police" to do paperwork and non skilled jobs in police stations.

It's like Joe McCarthy became the president. It's going to have to take someone to say "you have no shame" who is respected for this to end.
What's Trump is doing is petty and kinda scary honestly, but the fact that the executive branch has control over the CIA is not a bad thing.
The US government had a ton of problems controlling the CIA in the past, and it hurt American interest greatly and repeatedly (not to mention involved a whole lot of murder and just generally awful things). Multiple times, presidents (and to some degree Congress) had to pretty much wipe the leadership slate clean to get the CIA under control. The executive branch needs this power, it is important one, and if anything, I think it should be strengthened.
Now, do I feel comfortable with Trump wielding that power?
Hell no, but I don't feel comfortable with him wielding nukes either. The issue is the candidate.
