I've tried burning games, movies, and data and they all end up working fine for a bit the not working near the data at the end of the disc. For movies it only plays half and for data the later folders don't work!

This has been happening for all my burns for the last couple of weeks. Peice of shit LG burner.

What should I do?

I think I know what the problem is, you're using blank dvds that are a generation behind your burner

Your burner may have a firmware upgrade to make it compatible with whatever discs you're using but you need to find out what generation your burner is, and buy the corresponding blank dvds

Provide us with the model number of your DVD burner.

Burn at the slowest speed possible.

K I looked in my device manager and here's what it had for my DVD burner:

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4040B
SCSIVAX DVD/CD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device

It's an LG burner burns at 2.4 or 4X I think. And my media is burnable up to 8X

I have a Dvd burner problem too..

It seems like both my dvd burners have stopped reading discs. It detects and spins but reads nothing. Its not the IDE cable. I have no clue what it is :<. BUT BOTH OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME.!!! :[

Are you using a new brandname of discs? You can find which discs work best with your burner on that forum.

Firmware updates usually add better support for blank media.

Make sure its up to date.

Make a thread at the www.cdfreaks.com LG forum asking where you can download the best GSA-4040B firmware.

I jsut downloaded and instaleld the newest firmware for my drive. I tried burning soem data again and once again all the files were messed up at the end of the disc. I figured I'd try burning at a slower speed but it only allows me to burn at 4X now, which is the max. shiiit.

I have like a 100 Maxell DVD dics... what a waste.

Anyone know what i can do now.. maybe my burner is jsut broekn... I do rememebr it making funky sounds awhile ago.

K WTF why do i not have the option to burn at 2X anymore.. it only allows me to burn at 4x.

Does anyone know why nero would do this?
