WW84 - Not What I Expected

It was fine -- that's about all I can say on it. I don't go into any superhero movie expecting high cinema, I expected like, a 6/10 movie, and feel like I got a 6/10 movie.

I’d give it a 10 but their inability to cast a good villain and supporting cast is a concern more times than not super hero movies don’t have confidence in the supporting cast I remember bird man, iron man, Batman being ruined because of that and sometimes the movie tried to out cute it self. BUT it established WW and that’s all that matters.

Aquaman?
Really?
Did I miss something? : D
I thought Aquaman was a really fun adventurous B movie. Huge contrast to Batman Vs Superman, Justice League and Suicide Squad. Also made a cool billion at box office, so people certainly liked something about the film.

Not enough adventure movies like The Mummy, Jumanji 1/2, Mask of Zorro, 13th Warrior, Second Hand Lions, The Road to El Derodo, Star Dust, Atlantis The Lost Empire, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Raiders of the Lost Ark today. I'll take my adventure flicks where I can get them which is unfortunately next to nothing nowadays. Looking forward to Jungle Cruise of all things. Very unsure of the Uncharted movie with it's terrible casting.

It was kinda okay for me. Not good. But not bad either. The first one was superb on all levels. The two of them have great chemistry together and that made it enjoyable, but man, I needed more action in a superhero flick than what we got.

Yeah, Birdman's true trouble was not having a good villain. Also the villains were better than WW in this film. Still can't tell if you're some weird parody bot.

WW84 was just bad, nothing redeeming, just a long slog of poorly edited of a sloppy story. What a mess.

More like the Thor 2: The Dark World of the DCEU. This movie dragged on forever. Riddled with nonsensical plot holes and contrivances. One of the lower tier DC movies which is pretty impressive given the other trash that’s been put out.

The Donner cut reuses the ending of the first movie (because that was originally the ending to the second before they made it the end of the first). So if you watch the Donner cut after the first movie, then Superman spins the Earth backwards twice.
Holy shit! That's why I used to get that ending confused. I've seen both versions of Supes2, but always remembered the earth spin as being associated with 2 more than 1. But then I'd catch 1 every now and then and realize he does it there. I think I've seen the Donner cut more than the theatrical cut.

Just finished watching this with the wife. She hated it. I... didn't hate it. I didn't really enjoy it either.

It wasn't a chore to sit through, which is probably the best thing I can say about it.

I decided t watch it just so I can put context to all the video reviews ripping it and see if I agree or not. And also Gal Gadot.

So, Jenkins didn't bring back snyders stunt and fx teams, didn't bring back the screenwriter from the first. Just like with Josstice League it's an absence of Snyder that really hurts a movie!

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I found the first Wonder Woman film so dull. In fact every DCEU movie has been like this. I can't even believe you can fuck up and make a Batman vs Superman movie boring but they managed.

I didn’t think it could be bad, I was wrong. My wife and I watched it with another couple, we made fun of it pretty much its entire length.

First scene, why another meaningless origin story? We already got that in the first movie. The horse jumping over a canyon was so bad.

Diana wishes for Steve to come back, and for some reason the only way to do that is take someone else’s body. Diana and Steve have no remorse over taking someone’s body and essentially ending their life, they don’t even think about it. Shit, with that logic, Get Out is a comedy, not a horror. Movie was ruined at this point, pretty early on.

Pedro Pascal’s cringy character and worst toupee of all time. Everything that involved wishes.. pretty much the whole movie.. so awful.

The first movie was overrated but this is actual dog shit.

Oh yeah.. she can fly? Why didn’t she fly in BvS or Justice League? Where was her new armor? Oof

Not as bad as some have proclaimed, but the movie overall was bad. It falls apart when it´s about to launch off. That taxi drive must have taken them 12h from the office (day) to the airport (night).

The movie takes about 80min before it really begins and i wish it never had, because the first 80min are passable, but the last 70min or so of this 2h30min film were all over the place.

That whole panther? vs gal gadot (she is boring af, 1x face for every situation, she is the female version of Ryan Gosling and cant act for shit!). Gal Gadot got outgunned by the hot secretary with long legs. Her speech at the end was, that 17min long intro-olympics, the bad effects, the "doll-kids" ...

final score 4/10
"Sexy legs for $15 or free sexy legs via google search images"
first act - 6/10 "good enough build up, explanation etc"
last act - 2/10 "a complete mess, pure chaos"

My wife and I were pretty let down by it. We really enjoy the first one, one of our favorite super hero movies, but this one was just pretty meh. Definitely glad we just watched it on HBO Max (already have that as we have Cable with HBO) instead of renting out a theater with few family and friends like we were thinking about doing over the holidays.

It's not awful or anything, just cheesy at times, boring at others and very forgettable IMO. A 5 or 6/10 where as the first is a 9/10 super hero movie IMO.

You might have had more fun with it at the cinemas but it may have been more costly?
My family watched it at the cinemas in Oz and my wife, my mum, my sister, my 2 nieces, my sisters bf and I all enjoyed it.
It may have been the cinematic experience that made it so fun with audience reactions and what not. So even if you hired a cinema out with friends and family, you still wouldn't get that "audience" experience.

Yep. We’re not doing crowds so it would have been 4-6 of us splitting $200 to rent it out (was $99 when a friend first looked into it, but prices got jacked up around the holidays).

That said, audience experience rarely improves things as I prefer silence when watching films. If my wife and others didn’t like going I’d probably never go to the cinema again. Bith donto just being over people and honestly just not being into movies much anymore. Used to watch a ton and doubt I even saw 10 total last year. Would rather spend my time on games, reading and watching sports these days.

I bought the action figure. It's pretty neat; it has a much better face sculpt than S.H. Figuarts' figure of her as she appears in Justice League.

I find the kerfuffle around Wonder Woman's alleged rape of "handsome guy" to be silly, but it's also remarkably hard to argue with. I think because metaphysically we just don't have enough information -- it's not a situation that ever actually happens.

It'd be an interesting thread perhaps.

Overall I enjoyed it because I didn’t take it too seriously. But there are tons of problems with it with tons of holes. But loved just looking at Wonder Woman in action. She really nailed the Wonder Woman look from comic to live action for me

This is pretty much how I felt, lots of plot holes but it was fun to look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Yeah, this bothered me the most and didn't make any sense.
