I thought Aquaman was a really fun adventurous B movie. Huge contrast to Batman Vs Superman, Justice League and Suicide Squad. Also made a cool billion at box office, so people certainly liked something about the film.Aquaman?
Really?
Did I miss something? : D
Is it the Ragnarok of the DCU?
I’d give it a 10 but their inability to cast a good villain and supporting cast is a concern more times than not super hero movies don’t have confidence in the supporting cast I remember bird man, iron man, Batman being ruined because of that and sometimes the movie tried to out cute it self. BUT it established WW and that’s all that matters.
It's the Ragnarok ala Armageddon, rather than Ragnarok ala Thor: Ragnarok. Is it the Ragnarok of the DCU?
Holy shit! That's why I used to get that ending confused. I've seen both versions of Supes2, but always remembered the earth spin as being associated with 2 more than 1. But then I'd catch 1 every now and then and realize he does it there. I think I've seen the Donner cut more than the theatrical cut.The Donner cut reuses the ending of the first movie (because that was originally the ending to the second before they made it the end of the first). So if you watch the Donner cut after the first movie, then Superman spins the Earth backwards twice.
Gal Gatot is fucking bomb though.
Is it the Ragnarok of the DCU?
Hmm, in light of this latest evidence, I think I might watch this movie. The 80s theme is sorta enticing. I did enjoy the 90s references in Captain Marvel quite a lot
I can watch any movie she is in on mute and be perfectly entertained.Gal Gatot is fucking bomb though.
My wife and I were pretty let down by it. We really enjoy the first one, one of our favorite super hero movies, but this one was just pretty meh. Definitely glad we just watched it on HBO Max (already have that as we have Cable with HBO) instead of renting out a theater with few family and friends like we were thinking about doing over the holidays.
It's not awful or anything, just cheesy at times, boring at others and very forgettable IMO. A 5 or 6/10 where as the first is a 9/10 super hero movie IMO.
Yep. We’re not doing crowds so it would have been 4-6 of us splitting $200 to rent it out (was $99 when a friend first looked into it, but prices got jacked up around the holidays). You might have had more fun with it at the cinemas but it may have been more costly?
My family watched it at the cinemas in Oz and my wife, my mum, my sister, my 2 nieces, my sisters bf and I all enjoyed it.
It may have been the cinematic experience that made it so fun with audience reactions and what not. So even if you hired a cinema out with friends and family, you still wouldn't get that "audience" experience.
Overall I enjoyed it because I didn’t take it too seriously. But there are tons of problems with it with tons of holes. But loved just looking at Wonder Woman in action. She really nailed the Wonder Woman look from comic to live action for me
Diana wishes for Steve to come back, and for some reason the only way to do that is take someone else’s body. Diana and Steve have no remorse over taking someone’s body and essentially ending their life, they don’t even think about it. Shit, with that logic, Get Out is a comedy, not a horror. Movie was ruined at this point, pretty early on.
